Mini Watt Tourer

2012年の秋にウィーン国立歌劇場の日本公演がありました。ウィーンフィルはその直前にスペイン～イタリアをまわる演奏旅行をしており、彼らはウィーンに戻ると休む間もなく日本に向かって発ちました。日本滞在は10月8日～11月5日の一ヶ月近くに及びました。帰国する前日、団員のひとりと会っていろいろな話をしている中で、彼が興味を示したのが演奏旅行先で鳴らせるオーディオ装置のことでした。

あれから半年が経ち、3台のトランジスタ式ツアラーの試作機が完成したのは私がウィーンに発つ前日のことでした。2台はおみやげ用、1台は自分用です。ウィーンに着いて早速monitor audioのR90を使ったテストを行い、好結果を得ました。私自身もホテルの自室で毎日鳴らしていましたが、旅のお供にこれを持って来てよかったと思いました。

同じニーズはライブツァーに関わっている音響エンジニアにもあります。業界では知らぬ人はいないといわれるベテラン音響エンジニア達が、当サイトの差動PPミニワッターをライブツアーで持ち歩いていたのです。彼らはできるだけコンパクトかつ軽量になるように工夫したオーディオシステムを自作していました。長時間にわたるライブの現場からホテルに戻ると、ワインでも開けながら好きな音楽に浸ってリラックスした自分の時間をつくっているそうです。

というわけで、いろいろと考えたり、試作・実験をするうちに次第にこのプロジェクトが形になってきたのでした。
