I went to a Pokemon plush pool party - or more specifically, the second one because I missed the first one. We got foam poke balls and if we hit a plush with one, we could keep it. I wanted to get more psychic Pokemon, but one person was hording them in a big pile. Thankfully we could also trade Pokemon, so I got at least one plushie I really wanted.
Behold my collection of Pokemon coins! I feel very lucky that this franchise continues to bring me such joy and inspiration. It’s a blessing to have something to love and be apart of your life for so long. I hope to make more Pokemon art and merch for many years to come, like these pins that are available in my shop!
Both these Balls have designs you won't forget! But perhaps for different reasons?
The Moon Ball, with it's unique look, kind of got the short end of the stick! It has a very simple premise- for Pokémon that evolve via Moon Stone (and their evolutionary relatives) it has a very nice 4x multiplier, but everything else gets 1x. Now you might not know this, but that only covers 16 different Pokémon! Talk about selective! And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it only gets worse for the Moon Ball. From Generation 7, the evolutionary relatives no longer get the bonus- narrowing the field to a tiny, tiny 6 Pokémon. On top of all that? In Generation 2, there was an error in the code meaning that the boosted multiplier didn't apply to Pokémon that evolve via Moon Stone- instead applying to Pokémon that evolve via Burn Heal. That's none of them, if you weren't sure. After bad luck for all its life, can it turn it around in this match?
Well, this opponent is really not going to make it easy! You know it, you love it, it's one of the most recognisable things in the series and the Ball every other one is a variation on- the Poké Ball! The classic red and white design is used in all things Pokémon, the sillouette is associated with the whole franchise, and everyone has used a Poké Ball in their time- hell, everyone's first Pokémon came in one! It may only and always have that measly 1x catch rate, but does that matter? We'll see just how much it matters as the iconic status is put to the test against its flashier and more complex siblings.
Participated in the National Steps Challenge and was awarded with a Goodies Bag consisting of a foldable tumbler, Pokemon bag and umbrella. These Pokemon Keychains are also from the same place but earlier challenge and are given to me by my colleague while my own ones are here.
