Compiled a list of all the different scoped weapons we’ve seen Arcee use in canon, for reasons, does anybody have any to add? It’s really interesting how vastly different the designs are. Side-mounts, holosight-esque, and whatever the scrap is going on with Earthspark Arcee’s snub-scope. An image of her from WFC the videogame with any of the scoped guns would also be appreciated (or really anything of her from any of the videogames with a scoped weapon)

IDW1/IDW2005 Arcee (in 2012, three full body reformats so far on her gender journey, currently with a cybertronian car alt-mode) with side-mount stock over shoulder two-hand rifle in Robots in Disguise #9, “Night and the City.”

Same Arcee (2013) with a massive over the shoulder missile launcher or cannon, in Robots in Disguise #23, Dark Cybertron #3, “Winners and Losers.” Honestly this thing may have a scope but it sure seems like she’s eyeballing until she has the go ahead to fire. This weapon is called the Superior Cannon in Wave 2 (2019) of the now canceled Transformers Trading Card Game by Wizards of the Coast.

Forged to Fight Arcee (present in the game at launch in 2017, basically T30 Generations Arcee but lankier with long arms) kneeling to fire her stock mounted round scope blue sniper rifle with a side mounted red laser sight as part of her special attack. The front of the barrel lights up blue when it fires... and what is actually fired is a metal bullet! A nice surprise from a G1-stylized character. Image sourced from this video.

IDW1/IDW2005 Arcee (2018, now five full body reformats so far on her gender journey, currently with an earth car alt-mode that was inspired by the Lotus Elite, this is the form she has at the end of the series we will go off about this some other time) with a fold-up/modular designated marksbot rifle looking gun with a squarish digital sight, in Unicron #2, “Stranger Eons.” It’s funny, we never see her IDW1 iteration shoot any of these three, but we do see her shoot her guns with only iron sights or none at all iirc? IDW2 on the other hand we’ll talk about in a bit, but first, Cyberverse Arcee!

Cyberverse Arcee (in 2020) in Cyberverse Season 3 Episode 13 “The Judge” readying a very large blaster with a drum ammunition barrel (when she isn’t shooting her blaster pistols or in melee, shooting a gun with a drum barrel seems to be her thing, specifically, very large guns, usually minigun/autocannon/rotary cannon sort of deal) that has a sloped forend and ridges under the front of the gun barrel, and either has a narrow scope or ?ammo counter?/probably a scope above the ammo barrel. (remembered her shooting this thanks to @arceespinkgun ‘s post of gifs of Shadow Striker and Arcee fighting together in this episode after seeing the G1 images they reblogged this post with, thank you!!) She also never uses the scope when she shoots the thing in her exuberant battle delight, unlike somebody...

IDW2/IDW2019 Arcee (2021, notes on reformats later)*, has a cybertronian look the whole series), aiming her blocky anti-armor rifle while crouching, the scope is kind of holosight-like, in Transformers #35, “Lord of Misrule: Sea of Rust II”. She shoots this thing several times in the series and gosh you don’t want to get hit by the brief beam of plasma that cuts through a Seeker like butter when she pulls the trigger. RE reformats: possibly one, twice if she did off-screen before series start for trans reasons? like she had a look more like Earthrise Arcee at the beginning mixed with IDW1 but then they went for the An Arcee Sort of Day look that is basically a WFC Chromia/Nightbird retool with outer armor of the backpack made into back stacks instead after Galaxies was over, maybe because she joined the Autobots and wanted to change her look or literally armor up, or the artists just felt like it, we don’t know but would like to know. In any case her alt mode went from a sci-fi convertible to an armored fighting car look. (which we are the only person we know of with a custom or toy of at all so far as of early 2023)

Then from this promotional image from Nickelodeon we have Earthspark Arcee (2023) smiling while one-handing a giant aft pistol that’s all rounded and curved with a TAIL FIN SCOPE in a way that looks like her G1 car mode she doesn’t have since she has a muscle car mode instead. Okay dear you’re cool as frag for having a gun that looks like the alt mode you don’t have while you rock the boxier one you have instead. I’m so trans that I can hold a version of my old body in my hand and shoot it. Like okay we’re just waiting for her to say she’s trans now right that’s the consensus- anyway about the scope:

HOW DOES SHE AIM DOWN THAT SCOPE. IF THAT’S WHAT IT IS. LIKE WHAT IS HAPPENING? Like this goes past what her IDW2 rifle’s scope does which lets her comfortably lean her head down a little while resting the gun against her neck guard armor- but this is like, plonking your head down to aim forward unless... unless she eyeballs the scope itself or links up with it via her hand. Which she could. Would not put past sage in martial arts, ethics, and bullshitting Earthspark Arcee to have a weapon that defies expectations while showing her history in the palm of her hand. Gods why do we feel like crying over this promo image, anyway that’s a wrap on this until y’all send us more images.

Also we found the gun thanks to @fancyrobotenthusiast ‘s post of the image and then we did a reverse google image search while we started compiling the other images finding that inspired, so thank you, you by chance gave our trans brain something to do for a few hours that has made us very happy after

on a lighter note a friend of ours is almost done reading idw1 and we were talking about the buildup to aileron/arcee, and we were thinking back on the time apart in the middle of OP and realized that even those arcs built towards them understanding and appreciating each other, and she commented that they see what they're missing when they're apart. and its just so lovely. we love it. sorry for the heavy post yesterday we just needed to talk about what came up.

Hot take joke bit- Arcee's helm vaguely resembles a transformation cog, which the Functionist Council emulate. The twelve of them arguably overcompensating for not being (trans) women unlike 'Cee, and get angry about the capacity for change. Huh wait- why is this familiar.

Of course Arcee’s helm only takes up this look in EXRID (her helm also looks like this in G1 and Cyberverse), not the look she had from her initial reformatting surgery from Jhiaxus. So we rewrote this joke:

Arcee: hey Jhiaxus do you think you could code in some audial buns with grooves for the CNA surgery? Like a transformation cog, since I'm trans. Doesn't have to be 1 for 1, just reminiscent.

Jhiaxus: of course my lady (proceeds to not do that because it doesn’t fit his idea of a woman)

Arcee, later: Jhiaxus is such a transmedicalist scraphead

Later, the Functionist Council: we are the pinnacle cog of alt mode and police body shape

EXRID Arcee after her surgery from Ratchet: Fragging finally I have my helm-shape that loudly declares my transness. It’s so lovely <3

All we're saying is this is good fanfic material stuff (of something that clearly wasn't intentional) with real parallels of how hateful cis folks will appropriate transformational/realization symbology/aesthetic and deny anyone seeking a better fit for themselves, trans or no. We might through this into the next chapter of Addendum to have this comment in there when she looks in the mirror

Earth Wars Ariel as an ancient autobot?

Today in Earth Wars... on Ariel's collectivism - is this an ancient form of Autobotism? We think the word stoic was chosen here by Furman deliberately... perhaps as an allusion to a Cybertronian form of Stoicism. In that case- while Ariel is certainly some sort of collectivist who values a sort of nearly eusocial ?democratic? inter-member autonomy in the collective sense - the needs of the individual are something that is supposed to be covered under collective ideals and decisions. The thing that sticks out is the conformity bit. like- conform to what? to decisions made? sense there is no other agenda she values supposedly than the consensus - that makes her some sort of er- whats the word- autonomous equal - Autobot.

When we first read this this came off as very... Marvel US #1 Autobot in the old fashioned meaning of the word in universe. To go past what was likely intending to be shown through Ariel but to explain what we're trying to say, we must mention:

The concept of societies valuing collective identity more than individual identity isn't very new (very old in fact)- and we don't mean in necessarily a nationalism or spirituality sense. this also applies to stuff like family, gender, relationship to land, plants, & animals, the cosmos at large, etc. Marvel G1 Cybertron, a living world, is presented with tons of ancient traditions and practices that both the Decepticons and Autobots know and remember but we don't really get to see in a pre-war society. And, as that first issue that Budiansky wrote says, they all used to be called autobots, due to being autonomous bots peacefully going their own way on what was known as Cybertron... ...who shared all those understandings. Ariel's order seems a close-knit microcosm of that.

Needless to say we enjoyed this little blurb. That said though also reading/showing Autobots as pacifist collectivists in a socioeconomic sense beyond identity is something we enjoy and we are not opposed to more of that XD (see e.g. IDW2 to an extent)

smol Aileron's done! At least two other customizers have done her similarly using T30 Legends Bumblebee, CW Powerglide, and Windblade parts, we used green stuff to make her taller, give her leg vents, make her thighs thick and curvy, broaden her waist, make her helm shape, and stick arms and wings on/together. Wish we had a 3d printer to design & print, but we really love how she turned it out with what we had! don't have lunar lander yet, still did the smooch from Unicron #6 which you can find as you scroll down. Hope she gets a toy in legacy or 40th! The Arcee/Aileron/Greenlight families with Gauge and Sideswipe II ... missing Trypticon of course and didn’t include Sideswipe, Sterling, Anode, and Lug because we wanted to focus on just these bots to show the different versions we have besides the IDW1 ?tank? Greenlight custom we have. They’re so cute... it’s nuts to us that we’re the only person/system in the world who has all these that we know of and we think more people should have them. We are tempted to sell some new Arcees and Ailerons and tiny Greenlights at a con, getting another Gauge would be expensive because she’s made from Sonic Blue Bumble but hey if someone gives us one (also we want to figure out how to give her an excavator arm). Aileron from Topspin was much easier to do since we didn’t use green stuff to mold her, and she has the benefit of scaling with masterpiece sized Arcees whether official or unlicensed! And is broader in the torso. Her shape is one that has made us consider doing an IDW Arcee from the 2012-2014 era shape...

Some EXRID gals... we really loved EXRID so much it made us feel so good, affirmed and broadened a lot of our feelings and thoughts not just on gender but on international affairs, philosophy, combat, orientation, friendship, and love, and even helped us better understand our relationship with ourselves and one of our out-of-body partners (we kind of have the Arcee and Aileron height and shape difference lmao and there are other ways our lives parallel theirs including that of my system’s oldest headmate, the robot alterhuman who’s been around the whole time) and terms of e.g. our IDW1 Arcee headmate/our Arcee gestalt it was a roller coaster of feelings that helped them to love themselves more. (If you’re wondering why we came out about having transformer fictive headmates it’s very simple: they’re contextualized from fiction we deeply enjoy and think about and write, we share a lot of life together cofronting in companionship, our mental health got better by embracing it, and because we’re tired of hiding and want more than just relying on semi-private spaces to be ourselves/it’s 2023 we no longer give enough shits to be held back by our fear, and @windblade-prime being out inspired us (go read her thoughts on transformers she’s very insightful). :3

ID 4 of 5: On the same background is the Aileron custom with her hands on her hips, standing alongside CW Pyra Magna, an IDW1 Arcee custom (from Legacy Elita) and TR Windblade, all in combat stances holding swords. Pyra’s sword is a big blue blade with a guarded hilt that came with the CW Victorion set and resembles the sword she uses in IDW1, Arcee’s are her yellow thermal energy blades guarded hilt sabers (3D printed, found on Shapeways), and Windblade’s is her purple-pink blade Stormfall from her T30 toy. Finally, a close-up on Aileron by herself. When we started with Anode and Lug a year ago as our first customs, they were hard and we had to keep revisiting them, but we love them so much, and we’ve learned a lot since then put us in a position to finally do Aileron, which we had been too scared to do/didn’t know how with the space and tools that we have until we discovered green stuff a while ago. We spent far more time molding her green stuff paste on than painting her hehe XD ID 5 of 5: the small Aileron custom standing facing the camera by herself. She has rocket engine shoulders with wings, thick forearms, curvy thighs, and very tall feet (we did that so she would be at her canonical comic height relative to Arcee), and her big wings are bent back behind her busty rounded torso with biolights resembling headlights along the sloping chest that composes most of the torso. She is mostly orange, white, and a deep gray that looks black, and has a light pink face with yellow optics inside an intricate wide helm with a wide crest running across the top of her head to just above her nose.

Earthspark episode 1 aesthetic iteration spoilers (Yes that’s actually something to spoil aaaaaa)

Twitch literally said about 16 and half minutes in crouching next to the Malto family van trying to figure out alt-mode stuff "I feel so- minivan!" in the first episode which we think is super interesting because we're almost 17 minutes in and pronouns haven't been used for Twitch and Thrash yet, so the first thing Twitch identifies with aesthetically is an alt-mode. like, oh my gods. oh my gods! the show did the thing! Also thee knowledge is constructed- they learned about transforming from transformer comics and their siblings which is just so cool. We love this show. literally so happy rn.

Like whatever this show screws up with, they got this right and we are so glad for it, so far we adore the family dynamic stuff and gosh Elita is just awesome

Also spinning wheels image that is either just non-sexual sensuality pg13 or somewhat lewd (imo also in pg13 territory) depending on context. Going by Lost Light where Roller is spinning Nickel's wheel feet in public and commenting that she has very nice wheels while Nickel smiles about it and enjoys it, it isn't necessarily horny enough or intimate enough to avoid doing in public. But on a basis of Devils Due (humor, decidedly, but still) it might be given that in G.I. Joe vs. The Transformers III Arcee flirts with Bumblebee by saying 'forget kissing you if you win our race to the spacebridge, I'll rotate your tires instead,' which while decidedly different than spinning someone's wheels since rotating tires means switching tire positions on a vehicle/bot (which is actually important for maintenance and upkeep which raises more questions), Bumblebee then yelling 'Wahoo!' and racing ahead makes us wonder how he'd feel about wheels getting touched in general.

For the sake of our own writing we share on this account and this image, we write sensory touch of different parts of the body of a transformer in this manner whether wings or wheels or back stacks or doors or tails or what have you as something partnering bots do for aesthetic/gender affirmation and euphoria which does confer a sort of pleasure of 'making real' (if you want to be academic, reification) in particular in part because it helps them connect with their alt mode and the shape they enjoy, rather than er, a sexual drive, though it certainly can be sensual. We suppose that touching one's corresponding arm or thigh parts while they are in alt mode would be similar, though we haven't written that yet. It's not just a multimodal thing though, its also just, sharing one's shapes with each other and making love in that regard. Which is a very trusting intimate thing to do with someone whether or not sex is involved, as many asexual people could tell you. If you want examples of our writing in this sense, you can check out:

-some chromeblade smooching and wing and wheel touching in Chapter 7 of Rekindling Flight, before we figured out how to write the euphoria aspect of this in a lovemaking manner. We might go back and add to this.

-Chapter 3 and Chapter 15 of Addendum (an IDW1 Arcee novel fanfic) with Arcee/Codexa and Anode/Lug respectively, amusingly Chapter 3 is before Arcee's surgery and Chapter 15 is before Anode's while she and Lug are still trying to figure out their genders, so they both have a sense of trying to give and/or receiving euphoria to help with dysphoria by reifying parts of the body the two wanted to change

-Trusting Transformations is an Arcee x reader fic that also touches on this (the reader's character is a gender/aesthetically expansive transformer)

We want to talk about casual or reassuring contextually non-sensual public touch of alt mode kibble is commonplace among friends or from aesthetic/gender kinship but don't have the spoons to get into that and real world human bodied parallels rn. And yes that, and intimate affirmation touch are all things we have experienced and that we are deeply glad for

thinking about how aesthetically TR already did partner Daniel Witwicky with IDW1 inspired Arcee because of the helm shape TR Arcee has, before we did that in fanfic, & afterwards (almost certainly having done so without knowing about our trans Daniel and Arcee fanfic) JRO did so for uk postage stamps+

The TR heads do have some differences from both the comic and cartoon heads: the audials are smaller (likely due to the TR headmaster gimmick) and are pink (like her early EXRID helm), and the head crest has an additional smaller crest on top with a blue biolight at the front (similar to her early Phase 1 helm). Combined with the fact e.g. original Arcee bio describes her as a ferocious warrior especially when fighting people who threatened her loved ones, and well, if you watched Sunbow you do see some of that, a lot of this was not new ground for EXRID to tread, just a different journey. So TR Arcee being an amalgam of the trans gal we know in the comics & G1 Arcee (and TR Blurr retool no less, across gender retools are one of our favorite things about transformers) is just bringing together two overlapping aspects of Arcee the postage stamp bio did the same.

What the stamp bio did not do in having Arcee & Daniel being friends was have Daniel go on a gender journey as a result of that lmao, which we did write , after talking with another fanfic writer who was writing how Daniel would be inspired by her & the blurring from their binary bond.

Now, we aren't actually the first person to post a trans Daniel Witwicky story on Ao3. Somebody beat us to that by nearly nine years, back in 2013 (we definitely don't mind! the more people who write trans Daniel the better) but it's smut so we won't link it here lmao.

But if you want to read the fic that led us to write how Daniel & Arcee's gender journeys could intertwine, or want to read a good G1 fic go read Showdown at Sherman Dam , the fic we did partially because of that one is Day of Multiflame .

More & more we feel that G1 & IDW1&2 'Cees aren't drastically different chars, just different things happened to them & have some personality differences. But the ethical & martial core of her is there. Earthspark Arcee reflects this. Don't believe us, then read Best of Arcee. it's all there. That comic has one of the better moments for Arcee in the old G1 comics, she speaks to her pacifist ethos to keep Hot Rod from losing it. Sound familiar to Arcee advising Optimus in IDW1? There are some big differences but that's for another time and frankly we’d rather save that for a larger thing about Arcee that would also talk about Aligned, the movie comics, Animated, all of it that we have the spoons to dig into

Wreckers generally + Last Bot Standing + TRANSformers made us think again about how many gender expansive people have died fighting in wars over the millennia or made it out alive, what it means to carry on w/ life with that knowledge as world changes. Caminus is our favorite planet in transformers. We love many, but Caminus- a world, history, communities that love the, as they say, forging AND reforging of self, society, and the world- I don't know, it's so beautiful to us as a trans person. We always cry talking about it, like when we wrote this post just now.

We would have worded this differently than what was said in Till All Are One (finding the 'truth' is impossible, to know the whole thing, we just do our best to do and make what makes us happy, what is euphoric, what helps us all live alongside each other, and the Optimus Prime series via Bumblebee amends this at least in the sense of telling the reader how body actuation works) but the rest of it? It's beautiful.

We actually have a Camien poem/song we wrote for our fanfic Day of Multiflame that we'd like to share, the Hymn of Havenforge. For extra context- hearth is the Camien parallel term in this fic for something like gender (Cybertronian equivalent is sparktion) , so when talking about fire or spark... that's one of the meanings:

“Singing on these solemn seas,

Of stars and souls,

Glowing together in the void.

May we find warmth in each other’s arms,

Spark and hearth,

Entwined by all manner of matter and daily life,

Minds and souls,

Finding one another!

Shaping life in dance,

In curious splendor,

Season 2 of Star Trek: Lower Decks has caused us to ship these two now (depicted above are the start of the wiki pages of Beckett Mariner and IDW Shattered Glass Flamewar) folks following us bear in mind show rated TV-14), especially Mariner saying she's into "bad girls (or really anyone brash/rulebreaking/etc. of any gender who strikes her fancy)", yes we thought of SG Flamewar particularly because she is an extremely brash good person who couldn't give a damn about command hierarchy beyond looking up to Cannonball, a captain of an honorable pirate ship. (look we do not have time to discuss how SG Decepticons showing the closeness of Flamewar, Slipstream, and Shadow Striker including hand-holding as pirates up against various reactionary empires gives us deja vu, even if unintentional, to study of gal same-gender love high sea pirate history and that this isn't a post about trying to romanticize piracy of the era we are referring to, it is obvious to a high seas historian who might happen to read IDW SG II #4 for some reason that Flamewar's crew is operating in a different world, with a different value system, and different resources).

We say all this because in orig cont stuff (which we will update when we can) we write Flamewar as an Autobot who goes on to become a Wrecker (for Trekkies who don't know, basically Autobot special forces that range between volunteers for dangerous missions to pulp scifi acrobats and specialists to anti-raider defenders to gritty mass murderers depending on the cont.) alongside her sibling Hot Rod, and human originated polities have a long history of cosmopolitanist alliance with transformer originated polities when the timeline is introduced with Day of Multiflame. The Federation is far too imperialistic for us (don't believe us? Federation hegemony is actually a theme that comes up in many of the shows and movies themselves, not the point here though) to want to have tangled with in our orig cont as an ancient ally of Cybertron unless we like, deconstructed it/the way Star Trek handles alien gender and anatomically most being humanoids just doesn't work with how we write so like that wasn't going to work for our fic but it's fun to think about how if a Transformers/Star Trek crossover was revisited these two would totally have a fling or more.

IDW1-inspired Arcee smelling a yellow red chrysanthemum in an ikebana pot arrangement with rosemary branches and other flowers, some still budding (chrysanthemums smell nice, and the ikebana pot w/ instructions was a gift to a family member to help with stress, which has helped). In the middle of EXRID on the way to Earth she expressed that she had always wanted to go there. She really accelerated towards her happiest portion of life after taking up an Earth mode that effected her robot mode body shape too (can’t wait to release our chapter about that, how she chose it and so on, but we have thirteen more in Addendum to get through before then). We think she’d love to take in the world around her kind of like Nautica and Hound.

a G2 remix drawing on more recent tales & characters: when your superpower's imperial vision doesn't match the other imperialist faction & the pacifists they fight, a team up against you tends to happen! Who'd a thought, Jhiaxus? O_O

G3 anybody? I mean, who doesn’t want to see Elita, Thunderhowl, Nautica, Nightbeat, Hot Rod, Ratchet, Sideswipe II, Glyph, Lifeline, Bulkhead, Kup, and Clobber working together.

Also for those who are wondering why Nightbeat is over on that side it’s because he was a shadowplayed sleeper agent for Jhiaxus in IDW1, poor guy. Retelling this story if he already had a relationship with Nautica’s Amica Endura polycule and have her and Hot Rod work together to free him would be a real soul wrencher.

Seriously though we are quite tempted to work this plot into our ttrpg just to have something different from our fanfic, keep the brain fresh. Would give Jhiaxus different minions though and would have to think about who they is a minion to, ha. This aside the Legacy Jhiaxus toy is- super impressive! Really love the design and how they work mechanically.

At 6th level, when an attack misses you by an amount equal to your Stalwart Defense bonus to your Defense, you disarm your attacker of the weapon they attacked with. For example, Arcee’s car hood becomes a shield in Bot Mode, which she uses as cover to gain +2 Evasion, bringing her Evasion up to 17. Bludgeon stabs at her with his sword, narrowly missing with a 15 on his attack roll. Because that would have hit if it wasn’t for her Stalwart Defense Focus Perk, she knocks the sword out of his hand, dropping it to the ground between them. End image description.

Honestly for a while we thought if we were going to build an IDW inspired Arcee as a player character or non-player character that we’d draw on the Wrecker line due to the speed and aggression of the style but after reading Robots in Disguise (we will not shut up about RID lmao) the disarming defenses thing seems key to building her character because she actually deflects blasts with her swords. It would be easy to rule that this Disarming Defenses perk would let her use her swords as cover (even if this isn’t a canon rules interpretation, it’s thematic) because she is trained in such a combat style. Motorcycle Arcee might be more of a Warrior Wrecker though like come on we all have watched Prime she runs like the wind to cut many heads.

Tarn: overcompensating genocidal secret police ‘fan’ of Megs with two fusion cannons on one arm while wearing a Decepticon insignia mask and generally being a gross jerk.

Arcee: engages in a trans sword sapphic inversion of fusion cannons by using them as swords like her iconic dual wielded guarded saber energy blades. That’s a beautiful vibe tbh.

After we saw MinerEdgar’s art of Galvatron with a fusion cannon as a two hand sword... we started to think about how in fanfic you could put the dots together between orange fusion cannons and orange energy blade swords. It feels like the logical conclusion from Arcee actually two-handing a fusion cannon in Sunbow to fire with great effect in The Dweller in the Depths.

In IDW1 obviously the headcanon for ‘who is doing the homage’ is Galvatron since his twin sister Arcee had the swords before he had a cannon... but in something else, like an original continuity or an AU... maybe Arcee wanted her swords to be something to remember her old cannon by, while her two-hand blade is a totally different design, her combiner hunter/stealth paint blade looks very different, what with the big pink blade and the black sword catcher spine along the back.

For the orig cont Autosignet Cycle, we imagined the siblings both started as voyager/deluxe scale tank bots, so they both had cannons, and Arcee effectively gave hers up when she became a car, but stayed the same size scale. As interesting as we think it is that Arcee got a lot shorter in IDW1 and we explore possible initial thoughts she has about that in Addendum in Chapter 4 along with other alterations she wasn’t expecting and having done a wordless story from toys where she goes from leader sized to legacy motorcycle sized that we can’t find the tumblr post for right now, We didn’t really feel like having her size change that much in orig cont prose because we felt like writing about a trans person who didn’t feel the need to get shorter. For this reason... we are eyeing some deluxe tank modes to kitbash Galvatron and Arcee from so they scale with Arcee’s partners and kids.
