Palm is not a words man he is a action man so I feel like when Nueng was like 'so that means the kiss was meaningless for you' and he said nothing basically I just feel like it's hard for him to say outright what he actually is feeling cause he is just not good with his words (plus you can blame their bodyguard/ guardy realationship but I think it's mostly his lack of communication skills) cause you see the day after they have that conversation Palm gets real bold he's more goofy and playful with Nueng the Mandarin convo was real flirty, initiated by Palm, the taking him sight seeing to the spicy your lips are so red, that bitch said I can't tell you how I feel so let me show you, also mixing that with them being in this carefree honeymoon bubble away from the troubles of reality

Even in school, Nueng presents himself as toughened and unapproachable.
Nueng rightfully is wary and distrustful of everybody, especially Chopper - but Chopper is genuinely happy and relieved that Nueng is back and alive. It hurts so much seeing Chopper's heart break, him realizing that all his efforts to build trust with Nueng are in vain, the realization that everybody equals him with his horrible father.
Nueng is really not holding back since he returned. But what could have Chopper done? Yes, he did know what his father did, and that indeed makes him a passive accomplice. But it doesn't mean he didn't try to stop Kit, a man who doesn't bat an eye to kill his own flesh and kin.
I do this for people I love - Love as a driving factor behind his actions. Nueng sees that Phum is nothing of importance in the bigger picture of the danger he is facing.
This isn't a face a teenager should make - full of burden, grief, and yearning.
The disappointment when it isn't Palm.
How can an 18-year-old look so exhausted and old (not literary)?
The temporary happiness and joy with being together with your loved one.

Am I going crazy or in part 4 episode 9 of Never Let Me Go, when Palm is reading Nueng's letter, did they actually put an instumental version of the christmas carol 'Noel'? Cause I feel like I'm going crazy
