Today was (still is?) an "Emmons" day - we were winning at the parenting game over here and were SO far behind on his immunization shots. Between getting sick last year at Christmas (right around when the last round was due) and then Covid, we have been avoiding taking him to the doctor. It took the last few days to build up his nerves to go in because the last time was for medicinal shots when he was so sick last winter and they were PAINFUL. But, he was a CHAMP today - two different shots, one in each leg, he didn't cry, and he barely flinched. He then held mom's hand while she had some blood drawn. Afterwards, I treated him to his favorite, a happy meal, a bit of "mom and me only" time, and he proceeded to tell anyone (that would listen) at the grocery store how he had TWO shots today, with two fingers in the air to really emphasize that number, and was so brave. This kid is amazing, we are so #blessed.
