I bought a chonky little MP3 player and put all the digital music I currently have on there, which is still well under the 32 GB it can store on the device itself without expandable storage and am listening to it on shuffle now. I have a bunch of CDs I want to rip and put on there and I also need to edit the metadata on the files that are already on there, because almost everything is Unknown Artist and Unknown Album right now, but like. This is nice.

#I'm slowly trying to set myself up for a gentle transition to a feature phone or a *very* nerfed smart phone when this one finally dies #I've been carrying my ebook reader around and a notebook for jotting down anything I need to keep track of #I am kind of toying with the idea of buying a digital camera #but smartphones have kind of killed the market for affordable compact point and shoot cameras of a similar quality so idk #I think there are some fairly app-lite phones you can get that have support whatsapp and a maps app #so I probably do not need to start carrying paper maps around #although once I start driving I do want to get a satnav that is not just google maps and/or dependent on the internet

oh yeah so work tea and what it means for this blog bc i never updated y'all

my store manager got censured for treating us like human beings, ie letting us take 15s without clocking out despite being in a state that tells its workers that breaks are not a right, letting us keep our drinks up front, trusting us to be professionals and be responsible with our phones on us. he refused to take that so he quit on the spot.

i am now part of a triumvirate with the other two extant supervisors until a new store manager can be found. we're all hoping one of my cohorts is promoted to the position rather than an outsider.

our dm apparently thinks a business manned entirely by associates over the age of 21 can be ran like a high school -- shit like 'oh first time someone is caught with their phone out verbally reprimand them, second time lock their phone in the safe.' which like. me and the manager i closed with yesterday both said once the dm left 'we're not doing that to sb's personal property we're all adults here.'

we are no longer allowed breaks as part timers. when i posed the question of 'what do i do if i need a snack or shot then?' the dm seemed baffled. pointed out i'm diabetic and seemed to put her on the backfoot with her plan to instill what i assume is discipline into the ranks which like. no shit. tried to tell me to clock out and go to my car (reminder i don't drive and don't have a vehicle, i get dropped off daily to get to work) to do my insulin which like. lmao wild. anyway!

so in summary: my hours are about to be potentially batshit, dm is trying to pull some public education system policies on a bunch of adults, and for 16.30 an hour i'll take it til i can't stands no more. i will be totally unreachable at work bc apparently as a part-timer i am a second class employee in the eyes of the state and north american branch of my corporation.

just remembered i have a polylogger account which i think would be good for helping me keep track of my independent studies so tomorrow i think i’ll start getting back to using it.

Oh btw, if u wanna not have ads in ur mobile apps and you use Android you can get blockada which is an open source software that can block ads and other data collection sources on apps that you use or just in the background.

I would recommend going to the official site and downloading the version 5 APK because that one is entirely free as compared to the version on the app store which I believe at this time is 6 and is subscription based.

What if they didn't put ads every 3 posts. Three posts between ads, literally. Not even counting the ad for Tumblr Live.

Also what if tumblr didn't know what city Im in. I do not want my location tracked or stored anywhere unless I give explicit ongoing permission, like with my GPS app that I allow to track me only when the app is open, and then it deletes the data (allegedly) when I stop giving permission.

#ugh i do SO much to try to keep my location private. i use an android with all the tracking things Off (except for my weather app #which is a highly specific app that does NOTHING except provide weather; and i have the location turned Off so it doesnt even know where i #live). my tumblr email is not connected to any real life stuff because i made it when i was very closeted and made a new email and password #for it and never linked them to anything else. i have bare minimum apps. i use firefox and duckduckgo.#for shits sake i use a small barely-known map app because any Map App that has had large success under capitalism is inevitably going to #start selling private info or working with a cheap security system designed to allow quiet data leaks.#i guess i use gmail and gphotos but my phone doesnt HAVE a native Photo App. i have to use one i download and im too damn skittish to try #i guess i did get netflix recently....sigh.... i figured they WERENT tracking me because they email me EVERY TIME I USE NETFLIX to alert me #that OHHHH A NEW DEVICE IS USING NETFLIX AAAAA WHAT IF ITS AGAINST NETFLIX POLICY OH NOOOO. so i figured they didnt have a way to ID me.#UGH. Dropped in on my parents last night and my mom asked me what that app was called that lets you see where everybody else is. Obviously I was confused by this. She’s like “Yeah, like it’s an app where you can look at a map and see where everyone on your list of people is right at that moment.” Apparently my aunt and uncle are using it and have their adult children, their spouses, and their kids all listed on this thing, and my brother and sister-in-law use it too so they don’t have to call and ask for an ETA or whatever.

The dragon forge you get access to at the end of Shattered Legacy in LOTD is ripe for headcanon material

I hereby headcanon that LDBs can use dragon souls to make new ‘ancient tongues’ weapons/items with it instead of just morphing the original one. And that they can give these to their friends and use it to be able to sense where they are and if they’re in trouble (also that way they can’t get stolen or lost). Possibly the LDB can teleport to them/teleport them to themselves. And the DB can re-absorb the artifact if they want

My phone keeps on uninstalling apps (or like not remove them but whatever that intermediary step iphone does) and like fine I have that set up for apps I don’t use in a month but this has happened twice now with apps I literally used earlier that day? Like hello what’s all this then?
