What’s the best Play It By Ear warm-up song?
We only have three to go off (from the Play It By Ear Shorts YouTube channel; unless I’ve missed some elsewhere):
“Mean Girls” by Jess McKenna, Zach Reino, Ashley Ward, and Chris Grace (Heartbeat Hospital):
youtube
“Soundcheck” by Jess McKenna, Zach Reino, and Rashawn Nadine Scott (Elevator Pitch):
youtube
“Coffee” by Jess McKenna, Zach Reino, Mary Lou, and Philip Labes (Heebie-Jeebies):

Priscilla the kitchen wench and Henry the kitchen lad are the only ship ever actually. It’s frankly embarrassing how much I adore them.

Chanse is so obsessed with Dune he does musical improv of it. One of my favorite parts was him as Duke Leto Atreides training Philip's Paul

It is always always always time to share the flawless folk song from Philip Labe "Jeff Found a Genie" and he does not have to say Bezos for you to know just exactly which Jeff he's talking about.

if you loved the play it by ear finale, you need to listen to mary lou and philip's off book episodes immediately. mary lou's fear the ocean has an opening song so beautiful i ripped it from the podcast to add it to my playlist. philip's is called emo knights, enough said. their episode together, scabby the rat, is quintessential off book--and if that doesn't sell you, zach does an entire song as ai in it.

on one of the saddest days I've had in a while I needed a sad song. I typed "I'll never be happy again" into the search bar and this song came up.
youtube
It held my hand and then at the end it picked me up, dusted me off, and gave me a hug.
"I'm not alright, but I'm gonna be."

Naturally, every horror story begins when a woman starts thinking or asking questions
(Mary Lou’s contribution to the first number was unsettling and beautiful, shivers)
