Dropout is great because while on a traditional network nowadays you would have one knockout concept and be done with it never revisiting it again dropouts like “okay we love doing that now let’s do it AGAIN and AGAIN and make it BETTER and more COOL and more ENJOYABLE and let’s keep doing it until our hearts tell us to stop and we love doing it so that might be never so long as we’re passionate about it” and that’s so fucking cool, in an era of commodified creativity the enthusiastic passion for the arts that drives dropout is not only refreshing but heartwarming and cathartic as a fellow creative who would love to have the chance to do what I love to do like that.

Everyone always talks about Brennan Lee Mulligan going all in on a bit, but there is one person who I think reigns above them all, and that person is Vic Michaelis. No matter what show they are on, whether its make some noise, play it by ear, or their most recent appearance on game changer with tonight's "Sam Says 3" they take what ever they are given and they run with it, they run like hell, they run like they're trying to escape a tornado. They are funny as hell

my favorite thing about the dropout community is that anytime i see someone post something like “this might be what gets me to sign up for dropout” there are no less than five people responding like “do it!! it’s the best decision you’ll ever make!!!” and i love that for us. we’re all so excited about our silly little streaming service <3

Advice for people who are new to tumblr
whenever you say hi to someone next door, make sure you’ve never ever seen them before, because we don't say hi to people that we know. to the people we've alrеady met, we say hi-ho
the tuna fish here is beyond belief; we catch those tuna from the place right there, it's a private little reef. they taste real good but don't eat too much; it'll make you throw right up: when it comes to tuna, a touch is enough.
don't climb up that big old tall tree: a woman lives in there and she is not okay! I know you gonna wanna climb it, but don't you do it, don't you try it: again, the woman is not okay! (and not like “not okay” like there’s something wrong with her, she’s totally fine, she's just mean. maybe evil!)

I know that dropouts entire thing is improv, but I think it would also be very funny to have a special episode for each show where creators with 0 improv experience have to compete. make some noise impression prompts with people who've never done impressions. play it by ear with people who have never sung for anything, let alone improvised. a d20 mini campaign but noone knows the rules, least of all the DM.

Dropout is special because it’s made by people that really like each other (or are really good at publicly faking it) and really love the content they make
Dropout is the closest thing we’ve got to an artist commune in the streaming space
and yeah, they gotta make money because we live in a capitalist hellscape and thus everyone involved needs to be paid
but like, from everything i’ve heard it’s fair pay
and like, if we find ourselves in a society where people can do what they want and not have to worry about money
I feel like Dropout would still be there
Anyway, it’s like $6 a month and has great artisanal programming
so, like, check it out if you want something to watch made by people that don’t seem to suck

y'all. do you even know what you're missing if you don't watch play it by ear on dropout tv. they've got it all. nerds improvising musical theatre in a 30-40 minute format?? about everything and anything you could imagine??? polyamorous 90's teenagers spending a night at the mall. fun facts about platypuses. a noir detective that has an invisible vape. insanely horny ren faire shenanigans. a gay song about unicycles that will make you forget it's all improvised because it's just so fucking good. gay bear wedding. I could go on but I don't have to, because you can just go to dropout tv right now and check it out for yourself

I bummed myself out thinking about how PiBE season 2 was never going to get playbills so I decided to be the change I wanted to see in the world...... then i realized graphic design is hard. Anyway, have some thumbnails of what could have been!
