The City
Your dreams were always lovelier than reality
Remembering the photo sat on the mantel
The metropolis you would one day see for yourself
The heights and the lights so different from here
To marvel at the scene from the tips of the skies
Always pictured yourself an angel
Divinity on the run
Wings a shade of leaves in autumn
Soaring from towers high in the heavens
Your fingertips gently grazed the moon
Visions of the city
Far from the single road towns
Away from the booze and mistreatment
A place where you could find yourself
Find your crowd to conceal the devastating weight of abandonment
You trusted your desire for this
The furthest paradigm of the home you once knew
Until you find you cannot sleep
This place has become a tangible hell
The rushed pacing and snubbed acknowledgment
The status variance and vacant stares
You have never felt more isolated
Alone, but still surrounded by millions
A dream gradually becoming a nightmare
Enervation slowly pushing you towards madness
You only find peace at the top of this tower
Its 83rd floor is so close to the moon
You want to feel it press against your fingers
Invoke upon the angel to carry you once more
Observe as your philamot wings glide in the wind
When your mind is wild from the streets down below
Close your eyes and let yourself go
Embrace the pillow of air as it lulls you to sleep
Take to the skies where you can fly eternally
For your dreams were always lovelier than reality

Feuille-Morte and A Nightingale in Autumn
Feuille-Morte and A Nightingale in Autumn. Autumn is splashing out its colors, giving away her best dead leaves, feuilles mortes. But what vibrancy! Have you heard the nightingale singing, hiding behind a philamot leaf? Why is she?
Autumn is splashing out its colors, giving away her best dead leaves, feuilles mortes. If I would describe Fall to you as the season with brownish-orange dry leaves, would I get your attention?
Feuille-morte
Dead leaves, dry leaves, faded, brownish-yellow. Boring.
Feuille morte, sun’s promise captured in amber. The spicy scent of cinnamon steaming from childhood’s pumpkin pies. Crunching…
