"What do kittens even eat?" Autumn curiously asked while looking over at her older sister who simply shrugged as she set the kitten down to roam around the room.

"We can give her daddy's ranch flavored snacks that he loves so much."

"Ew, the only person that likes those is daddy so I highly doubt she will." Ax said while making a gagging noise.

Just then the three of them heard your voice and got a look of panic on their faces.

"Hide the kitten!" Ax whisper yelled to Autumn as she was looking around frantically.

I'm going to go out on a shaky limb and guess you have at least some basic knowledge about reptile keeping. If not feel free to send me another ask if you want more info! I'm definitely not a pro but I do have some experience and resources I can share. I do apologize beforehand that I'm in the US so things I recommend might not be an option in other countries. I'll put the info under a cut since it might be a bit lengthy.

Dalamadur absolutely is gorgeous, and the breeder(VMS herp)had a lovely reputation. His website was very minimalistic but worked super well. A few years back however he retired from snake breeding or I'd link you to him in a heartbeat.

A good website you could go to is Morph Market. Think of it kinda like ebay but for reptiles. It will give you a chance to see listings from multiple breeders at once. I will always say to prioritize purchasing/adopting captive born/bred for multiple reasons. Luckily if you're after a corn snake like Dalamadur is it won't be hard.

If you're hesitant about ordering a reptile from an online breeder check around and see if you have any local breeders/shops. Just please don't buy from big chain pet stores like Petsmart since their stock comes from reptile mills. Or better yet, check to see if you have a repticon near you. Tickets to get in are cheap and you can always research the breeders there online before attending. It would also give you the chance to talk to the breeder in person.

Last method I'll suggest is seeing if there are any reptile shops around you that do adoption/rehoming services. Sadly it's not uncommon for life to happen and owners needing to find a new home for their snakes since depending on the species they can be a 20+ year commitment. Of course that means you most likely wouldn't be getting a cute hatchling but you would be giving them a second chance at a home.

This was taken by the breeder and shown on his listing back when he hatched in 2019. He was a skittish little thing when I first got him which is super common for hatchlings.

Probably has amassed a rather large collection ranging from stickers from things like the grocery store or work stuff to just going to the dollar store or online from places like Etsy and Amazon to get the books of stickers or cool individual ones. He doesn’t usually use them so they’re predominantly in a folder or a binder.

He plays Animal Crossing. Can’t change my mind. I don’t even play AC but you can tell.

Eats Frosted Flakes and watches TV on days when he can slack a little on getting to work. It makes him feel like he’s got a bit more freedom.

May or may not have themed office supplies. I can see him having some random little office supplies from places like Daiso or an anime store near him. Just so he can have the occasional cute notepad with something like a corgi hanging out on it.

Sometimes he goes to Petsmart or PetCo and just looks at the fish in their tanks. He’s thought about getting a beta fish or some guppies.

He has a favorite pair of fuzzy pajama pants. They’re black and green and he’s had them for 6 years.

He was quietly a SpongeBob lover for a little bit when it came out. This is another thing I’ll fight anyone about.

And lastly, he feels like the kind of guy to really like the blue raspberry and green apple Juicy Drop candy. Especially the sour gel part.

Running Errands

After our usual morning coffee, NYT and Wapo online games, and bowls of oatmeal with raisins and walnuts, we hopped in the car and headed down to the Los Reales landfill to drop off a few items that classify as household hazardous waste. Amazingly, by the time we arrived at the location near Craycroft and I-10, there was no line. We were able to pull right up and drop off all that hazardous stuff and be on our way.

Then we met with Uncle Cy, my dad's half-brother, for a light breakfast at Margie's Kitchen, our favorite little cafe in Tucson. Cy and his wife moved back from Washington state a couple of years ago. They had previously lived in Tucson while he worked for Lear Jet. He learned his aircraft maintenance during a stint in the Marine Corps.

The next stop on our morning jaunt was the nearest post office, where we picked up the change of address forms. I had tried filling out the forms online, but I couldn't get it to work. Besides, when we handed them in later—at another branch—once we filled them out, it did not cost us anything. Doing it online would have cost a whole $2.20!

On our way to Lowe's to pick up another pre-built box for packing art pieces, we made a quick visit to Tucson's newest Black Rock Coffee Bar. We enjoyed a large blended Mexi-mocha the rest of our journey, which included stops at PetSmart for food for our picky cats and Trader Joe's for more raisins and walnuts for tomorrow's oatmeal.

Our last stop of the day was the drugstore, to pick up what turned out to be a small portion of a refill of one of my meds. It will be enough to get us to Oregon, where we'll have to get a new physician. Part of that process was taken care of already this week when Nancy checked with our Medicare broker. He's filing out the paperwork to get us hooked into Oregon's version of the program.

I also attempted to let the pharmacy folks know not to automatically refill any other meds because we won't be in Arizona too much longer. But they've been less than responsive to those kinds of appeals in the past—like during our vacation in Oregon last year—so I will not be surprised when I get a text from the store here in Tucson about another refill awaiting me after we've made the move. Ah, well!

I really really like the spousal person so very much.

He is really warm and comfy and nice to hug! He likes his tea a lot. He likes girl kpop groups and his favorite is (G)I-DLE. He also thinks Rolling Quartz is cool, because they are, and the other night he showed me their new music video.

He laughs a lot at the kdramas we watch, and we have to pause a lot during the first episode of one while he looks up all the actors and tells me the shows we've seen them in before.

He loves the cats and the last time he went to PetSmart he came home with a new toy for them, a three-way tunnel, and they really like it. :)

He accepts me as I am and he listens to me and he does things like once when I wanted another snack I said "What will happen if I have two snacks today?" he said "Well I guess you'll have had two snacks!" and I was like "Yeah!" and I got the second snack.

When I am having my own little dinner instead of us sharing the same thing, he makes his "concoctions" for him, where he tries out different combinations of things to see what he likes.

When I have a cat in my lap and he's hanging out with some other cats in the kitchen I say "My kitty says purr purr purr! What does your kitty say?" and he says "She says purr also. Also noms!"

I am the luckiest human in the world because I get to be near him and live with him. In September it'll be 25 years since our first date, gosh. That's how lucky I am.

When I went out yesterday to do my KSP and PetSmart shopping, there wasn't a good chance to stop and buy lunch anywhere, so I just had some leftovers when I got home

I was within visual distance of a Jollibee but I was tired and had a lot to carry (got a new dish tray and a big cutting board... so heavy...) so I didn't make the journey

Now I'm sitting at home and still kind of like... wanting takeout lunch. Debating with myself whether I'd rather face the cold for yumyums or stay in and just eat yogurt

There's a Wendy's up the road, and a Tim Hortons. And two Filipino places, and an Asian market with cheap sushi, and a Subway, and... man. There's a lot of fast food places in the plazas near me. I am spoiled for choice

I got some new pet fish yesterday.

I had 3 leopard long fin danios and 3 honey gouramis that I have had for 4 weeks now (had a timer set because my tank was still cycling) as well as the malaysian trumpet snails that have now multiplied into what has to be over a hundred at this point.

So yesterday i went to the store to get 6 cherry shrimp local pet store near me had them 3 for 11 last time I checked this time they were 3 for 9. THEN in the tank directly across from the shrimp they has like a hundred tiny baby albino corycats which was the other fish I wanted to put in the tank. and they are babies. So I get 3 (they are the same size as the snails)

THEN I see one lone long fin albino danio all alone in a tank so I get it too.

Ok so I got more then I was expecting but I don't think I will cause an ammonia spike or anything wanted to be gentle for the shrimp but it's fine.

Then I get home and start floating the bags and I see in the shrimp bag is those little cool flat worm things with the triangle head that you can cut in half and both half grow back. My mom says to look them up so I do. turns out they are called planaria and EAT SHRIMP. So now I need to be extra careful that NONE of the water from any of these bags get into my tank because I. Do. Not. Trust. It.

I pour the 3 bags into my 5 gallon bucket set up a drip from my tank to get them acclamating and set a timer.

Eventually I very carefully start putting them in. The danios found each other instantly and turns out this new one is my first female (according to my mom) and the corycats and the shrimp go in and I turn off the light.

Next morning one of the corycats is dead all three are VERY skinny but i was just thinking I could fatten them up. The two that are still alive aren't eating flakes and one is swiming near the top of the tank. I did order some sinking pellets online they won't get here for a few days so I run to petsmart to but some frozen blood worms which I was going to get eventually but I figured that was the fastest thing I could get without wrangling amazon returns (because I don't want two things of pellets.)

The danios go nuts for the worms the gouramis get some too. Even the shrimp munch on them. The corycats? They intirely ignore them even when I drop them directly on their head. Now im pretty sure I'm going to lose these other two corycats. Which sucks.

The shrimp are fine I can see 3-4 of them at any time and they have just been chilling. I dont think it's a water quality issue because I've been testing it and the shrimp would have been the first thing to die from water quality.

last day of work at michaels

wore a skirt and bodice because it has been hot and my back has been hurting

the new guy (my replacement) saw me walk in wearing a 25yd skirt with tittes actually supported did a double take

this very much has to do with the fact my name is exclusively masc and I haven't worn a skirt since march

he later told me he thought i was exaggerating the heat being a factor in my quitting, he was proven wrong

damn near every customer i rang up during my 4 hour shift said something about the store being too hot

three walked out because it was too uncomfortable to shop

during my 15 I went to the petsmart next door to get an energy drink and some working AC a dude in the parking lot was jamming to Never Gonna Give you Up in a dark blue ford explorer

a coworker fell into the pedro pit on her own time (Narcos and TLoU) and saw my phone lockscreen (a collage of Pedro from the WIRED shoot)

I told her which season of GoT he was in and told her if she does watch it just stop before the fight with the mountain

Also told her about strange way of life, she seemed intrigued

I have before this interaction, said in earshot of this coworker smth along the lines of "I wanna give him head so bad."

so she was already well aware of my opinion of that 48yr man

a customer was looking for ribbon and couldn't find what she was looking for, when I suggested the JoAnn about 20min N she said she was already there

she then asked if H*bby L*bby would have any and i said I don't know, I've never been, and i don't think they'd want me in there anyway my nearby manager (the cool one) snorted

cool manager asked if i knew what I was gonna do, and when I said not rn, and that i may come back she said not to

i then explained my reasoning for leaving the door to this job open and she was like "okay, fair." to give you an idea of what the employees think of the place

I tried telling a different manager that a few customers left because of the heat but she wouldn't listen

had to find cool manager and explain that telling the right person that money is being lost may make shit get fixed faster

cool manager and several coworkers made a card (notably the SM, the one who pulled the last straw, did not sign it)

knee jerk thought was that she wasn't in today, but someone who wasn't in today signed it too so :i

anyway i am now unemployeed im gonna not care for the next 2-3 days before I start looking in serious earnest
