Four ships: I actually don't ship much! I typically prefer Gen fics, though I might read ship fics if I already enjoy a particular author or if the plot/tags seem interesting enough. Some of the fanon stuff about certain ships bothers me. All that said, I enjoy certain official pairs from the streams more than others: Beauyasha, Perc'halia, Fjorester, and now Love Letters (it's so fresh!).

Last song: As the Crow Flies by Timothy Vajda. I listen to a lot of instrumental music on Pandora because of my synesthesia.

Currently Reading: I am working through the Life in the Margins of Redemption series by grayintogreen, then plan to read The Devil & The Details by fruitzbat once I've caught up. As for books, I'm working on Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (fiction) and Empire of the Scalpel by Ira Ruktow (nonfiction). I try to juggle at least 2 at a time.

Last movie: Fallen (1998) because I was farming for dialogue and details again, haha. I'm going to see the D&D movie later this week.

Craving: Super specific right now, but there's a particular brand of manchego cheese that is really good to shred, bake in the oven (make it crispy on top), and then mix with barbacoa to eat with chips. I haven't had it in a while and it's exactly that right mix of salt/umami/cream/crunch.

Long time coming! This one was giving me trouble for ages - thanks for poking me about it <3

The air and amorphous hum of music breeze against Vex’s face as the doors slide open - Percy takes the moment she enjoys this to grab a cart before she can take a basket instead.

“We have an entire suitcase to compensate for,” he points out.

She slips in close, a hand on his for a brief moment to nudge it away. The rest of him takes a moment longer to get the message as Vex ducks under his arm to take control of the cart. Percy almost jumps back, hands up.

“I’ll drive.” The wink is probably overkill, and definitely explains why Percy nearly walks into a sunglasses display.

They start with clothes - Vex is fluttering from aisle to aisle to scout the necessities. Spare shirts and tank-tops, a sheer thing with embroidery flowers for the winery tour. She does the math - there isn’t really all too much she needs for only a long weekend, give or take any accidents while drinking.

With a frown, she glides back to the cart, plucking a pale skirt and that floral top to compare it with a dress bustling with bees and small birds. She loves the neckline of the first, but what if -

“Darling, take them both,” Percy calls.

Vex laughs. “How did you know?”

“I could hear your hesitation from here - there’s no time for second guessing! If it will fit in a suitcase it’s yours!” He’s a few aisles over, with explicit permission to investigate pajamas. No - that would be the next one over. What is he doing over there?

The answer stomps over, arms full of - “I insist you have these,” Percy says, first plopping clothes in the cart before proudly holding up a pair of huge fluffy slippers. Each has the round face of a brown bear, and the grips on the bottom are paws. “They’re just like Trinket - and who knows what has been on the floor of the AirBNB.”

“Only if you do too,” she counters, and Percy cheerfully salutes, spins on his heel and strides off, pursued by her giggles in his pursuit of bear slippers.

Left with the loot, Vex leafs though what he’s found. A host of cozy pajama pants. One pair of sleep shorts - probably the longest he could find, which is quite funny to consider. And a handful of men’s shirts, to her surprise: she recognizes the Enterprise boldly flying along the front of one, My Chemical Romance scrawled on another, another with a comic panel of Iron Man, startling in its color and soft under her fingers.

When he returns, his own pair of slippers in hand, it’s this one she holds up, inquiring about his choice.

He rubs at the short hair of his nape - Vex is close enough to see it spring back into place in wake of his nervousness. “I - well. None of the women’s sleep shirts looked comfortable. The fabric certainly didn’t feel comfortable. So I skipped an aisle and found a few familiar ones. ”

Her heart accomplishes some incredible gymnastics - frontflip, spin, hits the mat of her diaphragm hard enough to knock the breath from her.
