Summary: Your first kiss with Takeshi Kovacs

The instant your lips collide, everything goes quiet.

Every moment you’ve ever shared with Kovacs comes rushing back. All those late nights in the office, the hours spent on stakeouts in his cramped car. You pride yourself on your attention to detail, so how did you miss this? How did you underestimate the depth of his feelings for you?

There will be time to kick yourself later though, because with his broad hand cupping the back of your neck and his tongue carefully parting your lips, your body and mind dissolve away to nothing under the weight of his touch.

It’s gentle, but demanding, the way Kovacs kisses you. You shouldn’t be surprised. His stubble scratches your skin but his lips are soft, softer than you could have ever imagined. There’s a quiet desperation there, too. This beautiful man is kissing you like you’re the oxygen he needs to survive, and damn it, but it’s enough to steal your own breath.

Timidly, your fingers rise from his jaw to card through the silken strands of hair that have fallen over his brow. He moans against your mouth, the sound spreading heat throughout your body. It’s entirely possible you will burst into flames at any moment. His touch is the catalyst after all those months of secret, smouldering desire.

How long have you dreamt of this? How many times have you stared across the desk and wondered what it might feel like to kiss him? If you’d known the feeling was mutual, would you have waited this long?

Your first kiss is infinite, yet not enough and when Kovacs finally releases you, already you’re craving more. Lips swollen and eyes wide, your hands drop to his jacket, fingers clutching the fabric like a lifeline.

Kovacs is equally as startled. His dark gaze sweeps over you in that same, assessing way as earlier. But there’s no promise of violence in his expression, not anymore. Forcing yourself to meet his deep hazel eyes, you find a mixture of fear and wonder looking back at you.

“Is this the part where you kick me out?” The usual confidence in your voice is missing, replaced by worry. You’re only partly joking.

“Kick you out?” Kovacs shakes his head, words low and raw and laced with disbelief. His large hand caresses your cheek. “This is the part where I tell you I’m never letting you go."

You blink once, twice, as you attempt to register what he’s saying, what he means.

Realising that you are lost for words, he tilts his head so your foreheads are touching again. His nose nudges against yours and he whispers your name like a prayer.

“How can I ever let you go? I don’t know how I survived this long without you.”

Fandom Gripe #23: I know that fandom is in some deep denial about its treatment of female characters that are canonically involved with fan favorite m/m ships, but do y’all realize that when you disappear female characters from the narrative wholesale to push the idea that your canonically straight fav was “secretly gay all along!” you’re making several bad implications? That 1) bi men don’t exist, 2) bi men do exist, but those who have genuinely loved a woman before cannot genuinely love a man after that (therefore bi men don’t exist in practice), 3) women cannot inspire genuine love and devotion in men, therefore any relationship with a woman is “lesser” than the one they later have a man (see previous parenthesis), or 4) to acknowledge the existence of a lovable woman who isn’t a terrible person, where if a relationship previously existed, it did not end because of “incompatibility,” is enough to destabilize the present relationship between two queer men?

Because why is the tgcf fandom allergic to acknowledging that He Xuan had a whole ass fiancée that he loved? Why does no one ever seem to remember that the kidnappings and murders of He Xuan’s sister and fiancée were the final straws that sent him on his rampage, and he still keeps a shrine to them in the present-day of the story? Why is her entire existence and significance to He Xuan as a man, character, and to his character arc disappeared in favor of pushing Shi Qingxuan—the brother of the man responsible for his fiancée’s death—into that same role, as if to say that her impact on He Xuan is significant... just not when it's from her? Why does He Xuan’s life in fandom essentially begin not just after her death but because of it?

Has anyone ever thought of the possibility of people in hisui getting a magazine from AFTER ingo and akari go home with either or both of them on it. Like they've already left and lo and behold in the tail end of the entire mess a magazine appears with one of them on the cover looking fresh stunning and most importantly happy. If it were Ingo i feel like he'd be all dressed up goth on the cover of like Vogue or something lmao (i don't think he wouldn't get famous if he wasn't already after coming home. Theyd want the publicity+cool extint Pokémon on the cover). If it were akari shed probably be like posing all badass like the badass teenager she is, scars in full view (she's a survivor!!!!!!). Inside is a little tidibit of their life after coming home. It would be both funny as hell to see them react to how they are in their element and like connect the dots for their strange behaviors AND bring closure to the people they left in hisui. They may never know this but the people in the past do

one day, a video that you took gets leaked, and it starts out with her sitting on your lap, chilled, relaxing, shaking some little rattle toy in her hand. and then the front door opens and you can see her peek her little head around like she's looking out, and then she's making some little humming noises and scooching off your lap and waddling away to stand in the middle of the hallway. and then katsuki comes into view and he stands there looking at her, glancing at you, before saying something that's too low to catch on camera, and then your daughter is squealing out some gibberish behind her chupie and running as fast as her little chubby legs can take her so he can pick her up and give her a kiss on her fat cheeks !!!!!
