I just finished listening to "The Ballad of Lost Hollow", and like, DAMN that was a wild ride. Was NOT expecting it to get that depressing at the end. Also, Henry??? Just. Henry. Anyways.
I've only listened the "The Dolls of New Albion" and "The Ballad of Lost Hollow" so far, but now I'm extra interested in listening to the other albums.

Really, everyone's problems would have been solved if they had just neutered slenderman. You could even keep him as a pet and-
Oh god I take it back don't do that

classic shaperaverse story beats i am delighted have been incorporated into puppetshades:
Lauren Osborn is involved in a doomed WLW romance
Oliver Marsh’s sister dies
Someone’s gender and/or sexuality is plot-relevant
Paul Shapera plays at least two characters
Theres a song where all the characters sing different verses at the same time overlapping and its magical
There’s a narrator who probably knows more than shes letting on
Time fuckery abounds
We take a brief detour into a completely different narrative thread and then come back like nothing happened
Someone takes drugs
There’s a song about what happens when you take drugs
Kerttu Aarnipuu plays a delightful little creature with a fucked up backstory
I get unreasonably attached to a funky little robot

rankings of the paul shapera's new albion series
steampunk opera/dolls of new albion: fuck yes no notes. has anabelle mcallistair in it
diselpunk opera/new albion radio hour: FUCK yes no notes
atompunk/new albion guide to analouge conciousness: starting to get confusing but pretty damn good once you sit with it for a while
the room beneath new albion: alexander is a bit of a nothing character but his songs perform their intended function extremely well. alice's character & the coal that sings hosanna are highlights of the series as a whole.
weird west cabaret: extremely interesting conceptually, best in the ballad of lost hallow series. ending WILL leave you legitimately lightheaded
happy funtime carnival: lore that recontextualizes the original new albion series in a really cool way. worth it for that alone, even if the lore is starting to get real messy
gabriella gadfly+: yeah i have no idea what's going on anymore /neg

This is Stringless Oki from Paul Shapera’s latest work, Tbe Puppetshade Chronicles 1: The Black Beyond.
He’s a drama-Queen Gothy space vampire.

Ghosts of love you never knew, you just construed like well penned plays. Ghosts of scenes, embraces, things you only knew in dreamt up days.
