A people's prosperity is highly dependent upon how they were raised, what they inherited as their culture. Prosperity is first of all a culture; already established culture informs habit, habit overtime becomes character, and character becomes personality. It is in the process of the aforementioned that the mind is set(mindset). I believe that the way that most of us were raised already set us up to be less than average in life. So we have a people who were raised to swim in bowls of water. It's like if you take someone who has never been in water, and enrol the person in a professional swimming competition, and all this person has to practise in, is a bowl of water, he or she would fail miserably. This is not to support excuse making, but if we have any hope of fixing this situation, we must understand what has brought about this predicament. Until we understand and accept that even though few among us might be privileged to have had good upbringing, good families, and good education, and financial privileges, there is a vast number of young people to whom this things are alien to. Gold is more precious than wood, it is true. But you cannot and will not cook with or write on gold, you cook with 'wood' and write on wood. Just because one seems to have superior value does not render others useless. A forest full of trees is as important as a gold mine.
