you were like,

new york city in the night time.

windows always closed,

because you slept late every day.

leather jackets in the sun,

t-shirts in the snow,

brown eyes that torch up at dawn,

playing with fire,

eyes cold as the ice.

you used to walk into the room,

blocking the light,

coming through the window.

I remember,

closing my eyes around you,

your fingers slowly,

lingering on my back,

somehow I could always smell coffee.

i’m tracing your touch,

back to my lips.

our eyes didn’t meet at first,

but star crossed across,

it was like fire and ice explosions,

in the night sky,

when you finally kissed me,

near that little tree.

spilling champagne,

using your hair dryer to dry the satin sheets.

strawberries dipped in chocolate,

by the bathtub when you tie my hair up.

accidentally spraying paint in your eyes,

while we vandalise the street,

laughing till your lungs give out,

tearing up with red eyes.

I remember,

I didn’t always need drugs to get high,
