I’m not saying Osvald and Temenos didn’t have it bad (far from it) but that chapter was an extended nightmare.

And while I had an idea of what was coming for the most part...

When asked how the king can repay Castti for saving Timberain she requests four tombstones with the names of her Eir's Apothecaries to be made and erected in Healeaks. There at Healeaks she will deliver a eulogy and the long delayed and deserved funeral for the Eir's Apothecaries: Emma, Andy, Randy, and Malaya. Finally she can grieve.

SPOILERS FOR THRONE CHAPTER 2: FATHER

Throné/Agnea, Throné & Everyone

Injured after failing to kill her Father and save that woman Throné is taken in by the travellers to an inn to have her wound treated and to take time to recover. During the course of recovery she grows closer to each of the travellers, especially a certain dancer with a heart of gold: Agnea.

(First Throné/Agnea fic out there; gotta start the agenda!).

Thought of something funny to counter the angst and dread Temenos and Hikari gets in Persona au.

And that’s Cyrus being revealed as Alephan as a very casual thing.

Hikari and Osvald both go up to the university Alephan is working at, they both figured it out late at night, they’re nervous and they get to the classroom and Hikari hesitantly asks the Professor after a brilliant speech about history if he’s Alephan.

And then Cyrus, in the most cheerful voice ever, says “Oh yes! I’m Alephan. How are all of you? :D”

From then on it’s just tonal difference between the situation at hand and Cyrus being so interested in it that it lightens the mood to low-key funny or fluffy.

The world is going to be coated in darkness? That is distressing but is this changing everyone’s cognition and making them all brain dead or is Vide going to kill the sun?

The night is getting longer? Unfortunate but that would mean Cyrus can observe the stars much longer. He always wanted to see what changed and with the light pollution it always is hard to see them.

Hikari is Cursed with a side that tells him to hurt everyone? Well, that’s unfortunately just intrusive thoughts. Everyone has it and Cyrus is sorry that Hikari struggles with that. It doesn’t define him though, he’s still at his core a good person because intrusive thoughts are that. Intrusive. You shouldn’t define yourself on what you think you might do and instead define yourself on what you’re doing now.

Yes!! Cyrus IS the fluff here and the light and joy in dark times. And has a grasp on the darkness of the situation, but he's already seen his fair share of bad events and just wants to continue his study/research and loves the new group. and I could see him not caring so much if he was at risk. He is having fun with this.

And Cyrus connecting with Hikari during these times sounds nice. I could imagine him suggesting a camping trip or something to lighten the mood with all his friends (the end of OTII haha).

Or Hikari talks to Cyrus about it looking for the great Alephan's help and just breaks down when he realizes he's just a normal guy. He doesn't know if he's happy or distraught there's no way out of this. Cyrus adopts him in that moment.
