The Musikants' Melody
Tumblr media
Through string and sorcery, loyal soldiers go mad, despots are seduced and the country's crops prosper. Amphorea's Musikants are one of the most feared entities in all of Thyngland, wielding a magic called Aula, capable of influencing the people and world around them through a chaotic concordance of forbidden melodies and magics cast by the Qalos trained within Amphelitsi's Academy.
While the Smethyngs don't possess the gastropods' liquid voices, some Smethyngs' crystal souls and exteriors resonate manyfold with the Musikants' Aula, leading them to be sent off to Amphelitsi and trained in the ways of the Echo Knights - vessels of destruction, driven and empowered by musical sorcery.
The leader of the Musikants is referred to as the Conductor. This role is currently filled by Phioris Thaumou - a Medouian prodigy said to have a voice capable of killing any mortal. Phioris personally tutored Amphorea's Musikant archon, Glyko, throughout their youth and provide council for them in times of need such as these.
Musikants regulate music throughout Thyngland, making sure no unwarranted harm comes from those playing outside of their group. A list of instruments usable and used to wield Aula is maintained by the Conductor's offices and Amphorea's lorekeepers. These instruments include lyres, lutes, guitars, violins, clarinets, mandouras, bagpipes, bells and shell drums called cochillias.
Many speculate the connection between the Thynglish Aula and the northern practices of Escarava, leading to the modern conclusion that certain hands and instruments are somehow capable of manipulating certain unique worldly properties. The two civilizations experience musical students visiting both Amphelitsi and Palavra. Thynglish Aula comes more often from the operatic performances of a troupe, and is considered more pragmatic, violent and primal compared to the Soltieros' dazzling performances, intended to bring joy, teach stories and enrich the people around them.

Escarava begins colonizing in Kuwantuwa
Escaravan ships have begun to colonize islands along the coast of Kuwantuwa, including islands now designated as Epimenta and Pequeno. The Escaravans initially just set up trading posts along the shore, however due to native Kuwantuwans not wanting to engage in trade with the Escaravans, Maestro Gordura ordered that the natives be colonized.
Tumblr media
Maestro Gordura has appointed Adao Epimento (of which the island was named after) as the leader of these new colonies, and of the Escaravan colonial military.

GOÍN, EN ROUTE TO PIOCILY
Tumblr media
Good evening. I write from the ferry on the return trip from Cabeza-Norte. At this time, I am overcome by pain. Everything hurts. I did not know so many things could be sore at once. My bag feels like it has increased in weight by countless magnitudes. Even writing this entry is proving to be difficult, just the motion of the wrist makes me ache. I may lay flat here on this deck and not move ever again. If only. These are pathetic thoughts, I must at least complete this entry before I succumb to my exhaustion.
On the note of pathetic thoughts, I want to apologize to anymore misfortunate enough to have read my memoirs for my time at the Grand Temple of Fertility at Delta del Rio Mandra. I had and have nothing but shame for both the state of that place, and how I interacted with it. Such a despicably dark artifact as the Mandra Ox has proven itself capable of driving one to such pitiful thoughts and actions. The Ox has been sealed away, where it can pollute the thoughts of people no longer. Not to say I am not holding on to it. I find myself thinking of ways it may be useful to me...
Excuse me. Such pervasive influence... Perhaps a bit of delirium on my part. Regardless, my visit to Delta Mandra was an embarrassingly low point to begin my epic, and it has been bothering me for some time now. I am writing this only to preface, and prepare you for my reconciliation, the awe-inspiring second chapter of my quest, where I was not a slight bit pathetic in any manner, at all. Swear it.
But first, I recount the prelude to my grand heist of Monte Ructar, beginning in the port town of Goín, Marlusca.
Setting out to Goín was a bit of a blur. I was still in quite the frazzle from the mishap at Delta Mandra. I practically sprinted from Polvoriento to Goín. Even when arriving I felt too close. I ran so fast, in fact, made it there far before the ferry to Piocily was scheduled to arrive. I had some time to burn in Goín. Which I really did not want, but alas. Maybe I'd find something to keep my mind busy.
Goín is a cute little town. I've been many times. It serves as the primary port for the Marlusca heartland. I find the markets of Goín to be nearly as lively and even more interesting than those in Polvoriento. Many different faces, flags, races, and items blur all about, buying and selling whatever happens to flow in from Undira's great blue prison. I would come to buy odd thingamajigs and doodads from sailors and foreign merchants, and resell them in Polvoriento and other towns around the Marlusca Valley.
Goín also serves as the ferrying point to Piocily for the Marlusca Valley, as it is the closest point to Piocily on the mainland. From what I understand, though, this isn't the primary place most use to get to Piocily. Piocilians speak a different language tha Luxardish, Piocilian, a language they have in common with the folks in Vestellar, which is why most exchange happens in that region.
I surveyed the marketplace, just like I did in Polvoriento. Before, I resisted the urge to dig in and peek at the city's offerings. This time, with the ease of time, my curiosity won. The familiar haggling with Escaravan and Thynglish vendors for their nicknacks was unusually soothing. I sought things for myself, to keep, to study. I am free of the trader's burden, and can look to find myself just one treat, one reward for my future contributions to knowledge. I deserved it.
Yet, as I spy, just a load of junk and fish. I muttered my complaints to the God of Stink, whoever is responsible. Deeply disappointing, the yield of Goín on this day, but I fell to my trader's burden, and I bought a fish anyway. I sought the strangest looking fish, a dark-scaled beast with striking eyes. It reeked like death, but I can't explain my choices. A dead fish in my bag, enabling the accursed God of Stink, or worse, to play hitchhiker. Great.
As if on cue, a foghorn rang out. Yeah, I get it, it smells. I then realized that it was time to go. I picked up the pace, packed up the fiah, and shuffled on.
With hope that my fellow passenger have forgiveness of my compulsive buying, the ship disembarked into the Gnathonean, with sights set on Cabeza-Norte.
I cannot write any longer. I am about to pass out. I suppose a chapter 1.5 will suffice. I resume tomorrow, back in Goín. The wait will be worth it, I promise. Monte Ructar was worth all these aches. Once in Goín, I must begin the hike up the Molareos to the Roncevalois border and the Temple of Breath. Hold yours, for a bit longer.

This song has kept my millions of scattered pieces together. Still trying to finish the puzzle but this and their "Skin of My Teeth" have kept me in check. I'm not alone. Not that they'd ever know how much they've helped me through a HUGE chunk of my life... As they have so many others. I missed the rock and roll Demi. Their ability to connect through lyrics and music production is... It blows my mind. Many may not know... actually no one knows. I am an alcoholic. I barely drink anymore. But a prominent Non-binary figure with similar views of my own sexuality that I can relate to due to life circumstances.... They’ve touched the deepest part of my heart. Hey Demi, marry me?

The Great Expansion
Tumblr media
The smell of sawdust and sea brine filled the air under Amphelitsi's clouded skies, as its docks bustled with life under a new directive - Hundreds of vessels, large and small, being under construction, maintanance, or anchored down from weary journeys ashore.
A giant, square-rigged flat-hulled ship relying only on wind and wheel rested adjacent to the Theatre-Palace in an appropriately sized drydock - the ship of Admiral Venka Skatakis. Venka is the younger sibling of the Amphorean royal family, descending from the same Medouian blood as the rest of them. They chose life on the seas, wishing to conquer riches and suitable Qalos alike, hunting pirates and other lawless wrongdoers.
In the past years, Amphorea has leveraged Thyngland's political instability and regency to diverge its resources into fitting a large fleet of caravels, merchant ships and warships and preparing resources for long journeys and rapid, efficient construction. The region's Archon, Glyko Skatakis, has committed to expanding Thyngland's borders and treasury through forming external colonies seperate from the privilages of the Despotate, composed of prisoners, those driven by ambition to pioneer these new lands and minor nobles seeking power and riches.
Before the war, major reforms swept across the settlements in Amphorea, increasing taxes on oils, salts and iron and tightening laws surrounding land security and areas riddled with theft. This procured many of the goods needed for Thyngland's expansion, satisfied minor nobles and prosecuted the Smethyng populace - many of which were imprisoned in penal districts for minor offenses through necessity or manipulation.
With this influx of profit, the navigators, astrologers, merchants and cartographers were hired to find new routes across the Gnathonean and Thanatai seas to east and west, as well as survey the scarred lands of Exochias - once home to ancient, often mythologised Qalos colonies fallen many centuries ago to the many threats and wars within.
Some of these colonies seem to have been resettled by migrant tribes and remnants or distant cousins of the Qalos. A policy of trade has been introduced to investigate and measure the land's worth, as diplomats and elite retinues are selected to prepare for an eventual landing.

So, in the spirit of causing problems on purpose, I wanted to share a new idea with you that I just had:
Young/“warm” ghosts have very large cores. As they get more settled into their Obsession, their core condenses. The smaller the core, the older the ghost, etc.
One day, Danny gets really hurt, and he runs off to heal. Pick your favorite headache victim to find him, and boom! Suddenly they have a goddamn ostrich egg to watch over!
Got that? Great!
Now imagine all of Danny’s frenemies turning the world upside down, trying to find a fucking marble.
This reminds me of the flour bag episode ouhdsfohsdoih poor Valerie 😂
Just—
Sam and Tuck find the baby sling they used for their flour bag assignment and reluctantly put themselves on BabyWatch, babysitting a giant pearlescent-blue glass blob of a bestie, who weighs a ton when he's asleep by the way. They look absolutely bizarre doing it ("Hasn't that assignment been over? ...Since, like, Freshman year?") but they're reallyreallyreally hoping no one's paying too much attention at, uh, how cold the room gets, his weird spherical shape, the emf readings from the classroom ghost sensors...
Meanwhile. Val, who poofed him, is losing her shit. Where the fuck is he?!?!! Research says he should be like the size of her thumbnail but he can't be that small that she can't find him?? Hello?? Did she— Did she lose him in the grass??? Cut to a montage of Red Huntress furiously tidying up the grassy knoll she had just been fighting Phantom in because he has to be somewhere!! Right?!
Meanwhile:
Vlad hears that Valerie has his little Badger poofed, and is old enough to have no idea how large a warm newdead ghost would be— Wait, he should be able to find the boy first and keep him captive! Obviously now is the time to get a jump on the boy— Why can't he find Phantom, this shouldn't be so hard—
And the vultures hear it from Vlad, and hey! If they find that little marble, free lunch! Now all they have to do is find the thing...why can't they find the little sucker...
And Skulker hears it from the vultures. It would be so easy to skin the half-ghost. As soon as he finds it.
...Where is it.
Skulker leaks the news to Ember who gossips with Kitty who reports to Johnny, and suddenly there's a hunt for a baby-blue glass bead both in the Infinite Realms and in the human world (because not everyone got all of the memo, exactly.) And someone should have found it by now. Someone ought to have found Phantom by now.
Is he...is he actually gone?
Meanwhile, Sam and Tucker are incorporating the equivalent of Danny's comatose body into their art project so that they can have him on them at all times at school without anyone thinking of it. Or. Well. Have anyone thinking too much of it. He makes a very pretty centerpiece. They might even get a B on it! High five!
👻*time skip* 👻
Danny wakes up two weeks later dazed, confused, nauseous, and covered in hot glue and craft stickers.
