Escarava begins colonizing in Kuwantuwa
Escaravan ships have begun to colonize islands along the coast of Kuwantuwa, including islands now designated as Epimenta and Pequeno. The Escaravans initially just set up trading posts along the shore, however due to native Kuwantuwans not wanting to engage in trade with the Escaravans, Maestro Gordura ordered that the natives be colonized.
Tumblr media
Maestro Gordura has appointed Adao Epimento (of which the island was named after) as the leader of these new colonies, and of the Escaravan colonial military.

Escaravan voyage discovers new continent
Tumblr media
Following a discovery made by the Salgonese, Maestro Gordura authorized an expedition to discover new lands for Escarava. The initial expedition landed on an island, named Epimenta by the Escaravan explorers. Over the next week, the explorers began to explore further south, discovering the north of an entire continent. The continent was named Quewantas, likely a misspelling of the native pronunciation of the land.
Upon meeting the natives, they received mixed reactions. The now "Quewantese", violently expelled the Escaravans, however on the island of Epimenta, they received gifts and were given makeshift crowns and capes made of leaves and stones.
Other outer islands were labelled by the explorers in Escaravan before returning home to Escarav, two months after the voyage began. Upon their return, they were immediately summoned before the Maestro, who cancelled an orchestral performance to meet with the explorers. They gifted the Maestro an oud, an instrument discovered in Quewantas.

The Maestro was delighted upon receiving the instrument. He immediately ordered for "A hundred more ships to visit Quewantas" to learn more about their music.

The Maestro meets the leader of Astoria
Tumblr media
The leaders of Escarava and Astoria have met today in the Escaravan region of Astoria Minor.
The two discussed many things, including the potential threat of their eastern Lucean counterparts. The leaders both agreed that the eastern Luceans could be dangerous to their states. Valdia was also discussed, as the narrow points of the Bay of Sectus are extremely worrying to Escarava.
Maestro Rudolfo suggested a wedding, between the Escaravan prince and the Astorian princess. This would closen ties between the two nations, securing the border and the northern border of the Aridus Plain. Without having to worry about their shared border, both monarchs could focus on their borders with more threatening neighbours. The marriage would also increase collaboration between the two states.
However, despite hopes of a better relationship between the two states, the Maestro kept important information to himself about lands beyond Casuara.

Since the Fall of the Lucean Empire
Since the fall of the Lucean Empire, Escarava has seen continued economic failure. The Kingdom of Escarava has very little accessible natural resources besides those in the Sierra mountain chain along the northwestern border.
A majority of the money flowing into Escarava came from nobility all across Lucea. The nobles would visit the cities of Escarava to enjoy its music and entertainment. The cities of Palavra, Rosado and Cântico were among the most popular for Lucean nobles visiting Escarava.
Escarava got the reputation as a party state, which, following the collapse of Lucea, caused the new neighbouring states which made up the former Lucea to hesitate to work with it. Escarava was seen as unreliable and as a wild card. This caused Escarava to suffer significantly upon independence, unable to sustain itself due to the infrastructure built by Lucea made with entertainment in mind.
A majority of Escarava's population was situated in the south and centre of the state. Leaving the northern mountains extremely underpopulated, making it hard to extract natural resources. This also left the Aridus Plain vastly underdeveloped and undefended.
Tumblr media
The Aridus Plain is Escarava's biggest weakness. It has a low population, other than the few cities near the borders with Marlusca and Astoria. Under Lucea, this plain was not a problem to Escarava, however, now the border serves as the greatest weak point in an already weak and poor nation.
Escarava however, has gotten lucky, as its neighbours that share the Aridus Plain respect its sovereignty. Both nations often have their nobles visit Escarava to enjoy the music all throughout the nation. Escarava's peaceful ways have, at least for the moment, secured itself a spot on the continent.
About 200 years ago, the Gordura Dynasty began. This dynasty has been the best for Escarava since the fall of Lucea, boosting its economy through settlement at the feet of the Sierra mountains, as well as promoting the use of musical magic throughout its population, which has brought in more foreign visitors. The current Maestro of Escarava, Rudolfo Gordura, is regarded as the greatest musician and conductor to ever live, which has boasted more favourable relationships with the other former Lucean nations.
Today, Escarava remains the poorest former Lucean state. However, it has become more successful in recent years under Maestro Rudolfo Gordura. The Maestro has secured favourable relationships with most of the old Lucean states, and has formed a formidable military and navy. Two of the most successful musical acts since the Lucean Empire, The Palavra Orchestra and the Rosado Choir, have formed under the current Maestro. These two acts have caused significant foreign visitors to Escarava.

The Solteiros The Solteiros are regional nobility and conductors. They conduct for different cities and regions and run their own, lesser orchestras and choirs. The most notable of the Solteiros is Solteiro Francisco Alba, the conductor of the Rosado Choir. The Rosado Choir is the second most popular musical group in Escarava, as their voices are known to soothe any ailments to those who hear them. The Rosado Choir also famously causes the Rosado River to change colours throughout their performances with just their voices.
