"Fuck it I'll try making a Rough Day Comic" 🤦

I just loved the process of creating that Cantina comic so much, and I really really have been a imagining how cool a comic could look for the entire fic (its just writted so well) and I really wanna make it super clean so...I think imma break out the tablet and get this going. Also I just love this work so much that it would really being mw so much joy (especially as my fiest comic) and thats what's important in the end.

No idea if it'll stick or if it'll be just a few or how soon but...I really am excited to try

Also kinda have to get used to drawing starvwars environments/backgrounds/people in general, as I'm not used to that at all so here's to learning ALOT of new things ahead!

Probs will start out with the backstory drabble from @no-droids masterlist just for chronological sake and then do the chapters in order.

About the smut...🙃

*sigh* I live with my very christian siblings in a one bedroom so.....just no soft or hardcore smut (idk if i can even get away with any spicy gestures at all lol), and will probs have to clean some of the language up or leave bubbles blank until I live alone and can edit them later then re-upload 🤣

Lewisohn vs. Searle

Forget, for a moment, that I said I wouldn't clog up your dashboards with a million citation comparisons. I have found a quote that is so brazenly manipulated, I had to share it.

This quote is pulled from an interview of John Lennon conducted by Malcolm Searle on June 15, 1964, in Melbourne's Southern Cross Hotel. Lewisohn cites it twice (the other quote is below the cut - it's rephrased slightly, but the meaning is retained), and some kind soul uploaded it to YouTube.

Here's the quote as it appears in Tune In, a simple statement about John's immediate connection with Neil Aspinall:

It's a simple quote. Straightforward. In case the name "Neil" wasn't clear enough, Lewisohn emphasized that John was "talking about the Beatles' first and original full-time assistant."

This is incorrect. You can hear John's words at 7:52. Transcript [emphasis mine]:

Well, Neil – he’s our personal road manager, well he was in from the start. He went to school with Paul and George, and the other fellow, Derek, we’ve known for about a year, but he’s sort of one of those people that clicked soon as you meet him.

There's no room for error here. The person who John refers to as "one of those people that clicked as soon as you meet him" is Derek Taylor. Of his relationship with Neil, John simply says that Neil was around from the early days due to being a schoolmate of Paul and George. This is even more noteworthy when we look at how the rest of this paragraph in Tune In plays out:

There are no other citations for this paragraph - that footnote after "their protector" talks about Neil's relationship with the "road manager" title - so the only source we have here is a quote that's actually about Derek Taylor. For the record, I don't think Lewisohn needs to cite each of Neil Aspinall's personality traits, so long as they're established elsewhere in the book - if we have evidence of him being "sharp, blunt, mentally strong, bright, funny, opinionated, mouthy, loyal, honest" elsewhere in the book, that phrase can stand on its own.

But there are a few specific phrases here that do warrant a citation. First, that bit about Neil "[getting] along very well very quickly" with John, also with George, and "to a lesser extent" with Paul. That explicit differentiation of one of the core three from the others needs supporting evidence. So too does Lewisohn's assertion that "John made sure Neil was man enough to stand up to him." This isn't a nebulous claim, so why doesn't Lewisohn tell us how John "made sure" Neil was "man enough"? Surely he has evidence for that and isn't just spit-balling?

I'm not a Neil Aspinall expert--I know he kept to himself, mostly, and perhaps that led the people around him to be close-lipped about him in return. But surely someone this close to the Beatles, someone in the inner circle - surely the Beatles said something about him that's worth quoting, rather than a manipulated quote about Derek Taylor followed by a bunch of uncited editorialization?

Istg I don't know how to make a ref sheet but here's one for our birthday girl, Shelby! I put in some trivias (some you probably heard before) and of course, notes on her appearance. The colors I usually use for her are included. I even mentioned some specifics.

Shelby has been my favorite OC. And unfortunately last year, I actually thought her birthday would be on Feb 8 bec that's when I first uploaded her on Twitter but thanks to my FB memories, I found out that I first drew her on January 26th.

I also decided to make some changes about her info. Originally, I made Nov 3rd her birthday but I thought I'd rather pay homage to her conception. Also, she is supposed to be older (26 years old).

And about her age, there is that sort of thing in cartoons (I forgot what it's called) where they are stuck in the same age, and I thought that that rule would apply to her as well.

In the exhibition Kambah, I used pinhole photography and cyanotypes as a way to investigate the visual experience of Kambah. I photographed everyday scenes. The intention in using old media was to represent things we in Kambah see every day using a process that makes them look different, to encourage residents to think more about these places and what they mean to them.

The following two images were exhibited in 'Kambah' Jan/Feb 2023 at Tuggeranong Arts Centre. Both are produced using Harman direct positive paper in a homemade pinhole camera, built during the Covid pandemic lockdowns.

The purpose of this exhibition was to work towards the 50th anniversary of the suburb Kambah in 2024. It was also to develop entries for the Kambah Peoples Map, in development by me since 2020. The map uses a locative media tool developed by artists in Belgium and Spain. it allows a curated map primarily for use on a mobile phone while in a set location, here's a link to the work-in-progress map.

Since the early 2000s, a strand of my practice focuses on re-enacting 1970s media art in the artist/archivist collaboration with Lucas Ihlein under our nom de plume, Teaching and Learning Cinema (T:LC). In this image Lucas is setting up for Horror Film 1, a work by British artist Malcolm Le Grice from 1971. TLC carries out this re-enactment process as a way to learn about the work which we then document in instruction manuals, or 'user's manuals' as we call them.

My film work using old media, 16mm and super 8, is known and used by Australia's experimental music community. The films must be performed live, so they have some presence in the experimental film community, but that is limited due to that requirement for liveness.

It was the 8th "creativersary" of my first tech demo. Feb 8 2016 was the last modified date of this Game Maker Studio demo where after giving up gamedev for years while attempting to pursue computer engineering, I came back to it and started programming mechanics for it. On my birthday later that year, I uploaded this video update which was using someone else's dialogue system (Juju?) but otherwise all of the platformer mechanics were programmed by me:

I remember this getting some raised eyebrows when I showed this to the game maker community. For context, the following mechanics are featured in this demo:

An attempt at enemy AI (there were later versions where I was figuring out complex state machine mechanics for these)

Solid ground, jump-through platforms (including complex movement), and moving jump-through platforms, all of which could be walljumped and corner grabbed.

Teeter-totter platforms, tightropes, ceiling-grabbables.

Running, wall-jumping, corner grabbing/vaulting, swimming, hanging, pole/vine swinging, crawling, vaulting into crawlspaces, and various dashes in swimming and crawl modes.

A pushable ball and ice, both on the ground and on moving platforms.

It was a pretty strong start as a platformer and I still have its code! But I decided to move on to Godot - I literally couldn't afford to eat while I was coding this and I needed a free alternative that would still get updates (Game Maker Studio 2 came out and the original was hidden from Steam and its support discontinued while I was working on this).

Record voice with recorder.js and upload it to python-flask server, but WAV file is broken

I would like to realize this.

A user speaks to a web browser.

A web browser (Google Chrome) record user's voice as WAV file(Recorder.js) and send it to a python-flask server.
