How to Increase sales through your effective storytelling skills?
Messages delivered as stories can be up to 22 times more memorable than just the facts.
Many people think that storytelling is an emerging form in the contemporary world. But the fact is that storytelling is an ancient art form. The shift in the storytelling world has been ongoing since the beginning. Now storytelling has become an important part of every sector.
Every product, service and company has its own story. That story includes the vision behind its establishment and success. Here, your storytelling skills will become gems.
What is a sales presentation?
The sales presentation is nothing but the occasion for storytelling. You are selling something, which means you are telling the story of products or services to convince your targets. Corporate storytelling for sales includes structure, conflict, resolution, emotion, and surprises as well, just like other stories. These overall ingredients define the final dish of your sales presentation.
Human brains are designed to capture emotions, characters, and journeys, not just factual data. So when you focus on listing products/services your organization provides instead of weaving them into a story, you will find your prospect/client paying heed to the cell phone or their watch instead of you.
What if you engage your prospect with something like this?
Sales rep- I understand that your company is keen to improve well your operations and maintenance.
The turnaround time improvement, is what you may like?
Client – Yeah… something like that.
Sales rep – Well, let me tell you, it’s not just you who is facing this problem. I remember very clearly how a company named ABC Inc. faced and solved a similar O&M issue. After changing their technology foundation, today, O&M is their top BSU.
Client – Oh really, what’s it that they changed? Tell me more…
Sales rep – Well, it began with the root cause analysis. We observed they needed to have a robust backend to support their seasonal needs. Our teams engaged with their each other and implemented the solution, have helped more than 10 O&M companies leading them to profitability. Below are just 3 products of ours, which have enabled them.
Goals and Objectives of sales-oriented storytelling – Why did the salesman do differently?
Transform data, figures, and stats into understandable analogies.
To improve brand recall, turn your sales pitch into anecdotes.
Create a connection with the listener by using interactive storytelling.
Get the potential customer’s immediate attention and cooperation.
Transform your sales pitch into anecdotes to enhance brand recall
How to prepare for effective corporate storytelling for sales?
Understand Needs
When preparing for a presentation or sales meeting, look for how your products satisfy clients’ needs. The client’s requirements provide more clarity in developing stories.
Understand Hook Point
As you understand the requirements, you can easily understand what to and how to put on the table.
Resolution base
Your sell story should have a resolution. The other person should know what they get if they join hands with you.
Body language
The most important thing while narrating your story is your body language. Be confident about your story and roam around uniquely delivering the sales story.
Tumblr media
Here are simple DOs and DON’Ts in sales-oriented storytelling
DOs

In the midst of this pandemic, communication is the key to education, understanding, and peace.
Its been 2 years and a couple of months since we tried to adapt the “new normal” in which, let the people value communication, because today, communication is more important than ever.
The pandemic affected and changed the way we communicate to each other. All of us, not one left behind, are advised to wear a face mask, or facial coverings, and to keep our distance away from each other to avoid the spread of the virus. With these limitations of physical contact and interaction, we had to make substitutes in order for us to communicate, like for the greetings, gestures, and other nonverbal cues.
Nonverbal is important but not as important as the language itself. The tone of how we speak, talk, of our voice, the eye contact, our facial expressions, and our body language, all of these are nonverbal signals, and they form a language.
With the pandemic still in its progress, people are being challenged, the government, the hospital, the medics, the school, the students, the workers, and a lot more.
I Am Yman Nuelle M. Martinez. And this is why.
The pandemic hardened our capacity as individuals to communicate but as human itself, adapting and retaliating is one of our basic skills. When I first found out that we’re going to have virtual classes instead of face to face, I was quite worried on how the school will be able to teach us efficiently and effectively. Before the pandemic, I’m glad that I reach out to Him and prayed, and as time passed by, I began researching about online stuffs, online note taking, digital stuffs, everything that is in online. With the research or the knowledge that I’ve got, I got pretty much excited and told myself, I wanted to experience this, was not expecting that couple of months later, the pandemic happened and digital adaptation started to arise.
I Am not a big fan of using my gadgets too much, I limit myself, in order to help my eyes, and make sure I spend most of my time in productive ways, or in physical activities.
When I found out that the learning platform of our school is online, again, I wasn’t sure how. But we go for it, because we believe that education is really the way for you to succeed in life. You don’t have to go to a school to succeed yes, but you have to be educated in specific areas so you’ll succeed. Pandemic is a hindrance in our studies, but with the help of our adapting skills and how the school communicate with us, how we exchange communication, our studies went well and instead of making our study hard, difficult, it was actually easy, challenging, and fun. Communication nowadays, can be attended virtually, with the help and the use of our technologies. Now, how can our teachers EDUCATE us? How can we UNDERSTAND ? How can we have PEACE? All of those question, can be answer in one, through COMMUNICATION. Because communication can be different things, can be various of things, and it only depends on how you deliver and interpret it, with these, if you will really use communication in a proper and professional way, then a good communication is shown, and this is how we educate ourselves, LISTEN attentively, understand it, and develop this, sink it to your mind, and you’ll have peace. Communication is a struggle, that’s the challenge.

ANALYSIS
Speech 1
The type of speech according to purpose is present in the video/film, ENGLISH SPEECH | NELSON MANDELA: Freedom and Justice are Exploratory or Informative and Persuasive. Nelson Mandela achieves the purpose of informing the audience about how freedom and justice should be, to help variation between the progressed and progressing world,  genuine partnership between the North and the South. The manner he delivers his speech is through reading the manuscript in a way it affects how he delivers his speech because he doesn't make much eye contact with the audients. Nevertheless, he utters an inspirational speech that opens the mind of his people to think as a whole.
Speech 2
The type of speech according to purpose is present in the video/film, ENGLISH SPEECH | EMMA WATSON: Gender Equality is Persuasive. After watching, we could tell Emma achieves the purpose of persuading her audients about the awareness of the feminist movement for gender equality, calls upon men and boys to help end the persisting inequalities faced by women and girls globally. She talks about her life experience as she grows older that women didn't treat equally. The manner she delivers her speech is Extemporaneous because she had time to think and organize her thoughts. What I observed she conveys a spontaneity that keeps me engaged and interested in the topic.
Speech 3
The type of speech according to purpose is present in the video/film, 2016 World Champion of Public Speaking, Darren Tay Wen Jie is Entertainment. At first, I was wondering how Darren Tay Wen Jie became the World Champion of Public Speaking and What I observe is that he knows how to make the atmosphere lively which leads the audience into looking at something familiar in a different and completely humorous light. Darren uses jokes as he achieves the purpose that entertains his speech about bullies and uses a prop that symbolizes and encourages everyone to face their inner bullies and not run away from them. The manner of delivery of the speech is memorized because he looks prepared and confident enough to share it well with his audience.

An Analysis of Three Speeches
Tumblr media
Nelson Mandela. Emma Watson. Darren Tay Wen Jie. These three people have their speeches. Their speeches differ from their purpose and their manner of the delivery. Yet, their speeches contain the power to intrigue people and to let others know what they wanted to convey.
Upon analyzing each speech, it was seen that their speeches differ from the types of speech according to purpose. With Nelson Mandela's speech, it was an example of an Exploratory or Informative Speech because Nelson Mandela wanted to inform the listeners or the audience about their freedom and justice they have gained between their own country, Africa and the United States of America. He stated how all of them are equal and have established a respectful relationship between the two. While in Emma Watson's Speech, it was an example of a Persuasive Speech, since she wanted to convince the people about Gender Equality and Women Empowerment. She wanted people to remember and not forget and disregard it. For Darren Tay Wen Jie's speech was an example of an Entertainment Speech because it made people laughed and happy. However, his speech was not only a series of jokes, but he also spoke about life lessons related to bullying. His address made his audience feel lighthearted and entertained while speaking.
Also, these three people have achieved the purpose of informing or convincing their audience. In Nelson Mandela's Speech, he wanted to convey the relationship between the countries of the United States of America and Africa. With those words he spoke, the audience well on what he wanted to inform. Thus, he made the people shown a positive response which is why he was able to achieve his purpose in telling his audience. In Emma Watson's Speech, on the other hand, she also succeeded her purpose in convincing the people since her speech contains convincing points and life examples which are her experiences. The experiences she has said might relate to people who made them understand and gained their attention. Lastly, is Darren Tay Wen Jie's Speech. Starting from the start, he has gained the attention of the audience. The words he spoke even though some of them were amusing; it does not leave behind what he wanted to convey. He gave sensical lesson while entertaining his audience, which made him achieve the purpose of engaging his audience.
Moreover, the three speakers also have the manner of delivery on their speeches. With Nelson Mandela's Speech, he was holding a manuscript or a document which is why the manner of delivery is Reading or Speaking from a Manuscript. It was seen in the clip that Nelson was mainly looking down to read and sometimes looked up, but then his words were still crystal clear and accurate. It was also right or reasonable enough since his speech was used in a formal occasion. In contrast, Emma Watson's Speech was memorized since she was mainly looking at the audience. She may have a manuscript with her which was seen in the last part, but she never looked down to read it. Thus, made it made her manner of delivery, a memorized one. Lastly, is Darren Tay Wen Jie's Speech. Since it was a competition, I believed that his speech was also a memorized one. It can't be an impromptu or an extemporaneous one because I have observed in his speech that it was like he has rehearsed his lines again and again.

From the 3 video clips given, they have gave various speech deliveries towards their purpose. The First speech of Mr. Nelson Mandela was a Exploratory or Informative Speech since Mr. Mandela is speaking about the freedom and justice of his people. The speech shown in the second  video according to purpose is a Persuasive Speech, as Emma Watson is persuading the audience striving for Gender equality and how she is a feminism and how she protects the rights of the women. Lastly, the third video showed that it was an Entertainment Speech, since he was clearly entertaining the audience with some humor and sharing certain stories. Each of the speakers were able to achieve their purpose of informing the audience, Mr. Mandela was able to speak for the freedom and justice of the people, the unity between the rich and the poor and the journey it will be for him to work for equality to all. Emma Watson was able to persuade and motivate from the way she has spoken and the way she has delivered has kept her audience captured and motivated to fight for gender equality and to fight for women. For every individual to achieve the same rights as the others. And for the third video he was able to entertain the audience while not hurting or going below the belt on the sense of humor he had. He was very careful and professional too while he was teaching and advocating to stop bullying. All of the 3 had also different manner of delivery of the speech, Nelson Mandela  was reading or speaking from a manuscript since he has a copy of his speech with him at the podium and was reading it to the audience but of course with heart. Emma Watson had a memorized speech, however this can also be an extemporaneous speech, since it was not show in the video if she was asked beforehand or on the spot and was just given time it could be from the two. She was able to tell and express her opinions and views on the topic and what she believes in, she was also able to share some life experiences as well. Lastly,  the entertainer/comedian, his way of delivery is depends, comedians often have a memorized speech once they know their audience but at certain times it can be an impromptu speech. However, he showed that he knew very well what he was going to say and to do so it is more of like he had time to practice and memorize it making it a memorized speech.

Communication works in different ways. Usually, it starts with the source where the speaker crafts the message accordingly. Then comes the Message as what it is needed to be delivered. Noise as the distraction. Followed by the Receiver, who gets the message that was being sent. Lastly, Evaluation wherein the receiver reacts to the message.

some of ya'll forget (looking at you genshin and mxtx fandoms) that the media you're consuming doesn't align with whatever tradition or culture or values you or your country has. unless the media is being actively harmful against any group of people out there and the author agrees to it, a work of fiction should not be subjected to hate.
people shouldn't be hated because they ship a pair that are sworn brothers. people shouldn't be hated because others think that they're saying a slur when in fact they're referring to something completely innocent.
to appropriate something to another culture is to ignore A TON of traits, nuance, and history. no one should be out there on the internet insulting other people because they think that they're barbarians.
EDUCATE YOURSELF. if you're old enough to type bigoted shit, you're old enough to look for answers here. no one is going to do that for you.

The Wall
Tumblr media
The Wall mostly represents separating or organizing distance to either people, land, or territory but when puts in communication, Wall represents a Barrier to most peoples conversations because the purpose of the Barrier is to Block and Affect the flow of communication, based on my learning they’re different types of barriers but the one we are talking right now is the common type of barrier which its just separate peoples thoughts and ability to speak to one another. Yeah we know it’s a large border to us but every border can be conquered there’s always a way of overcoming this, imagine you’re talking to someone but something or someone is blocking you, you just either need to say excuse or force that thing to stop interrupting your conversation with a person or you might want to something to either understand the person or to show respect to a person in a polite way. The wall is purposely created to be climbed or separate that’s why the people if they seek freedom they have to climb it so that they can be free and somehow the wall is used to keep bad things at a distance so imagine in communication that’s just the purpose of the Barrier it is just a way of interrupting one's conversation.
