no dw it's not super deep lol 😭 i'm not the most knowledgeable person on this but there was a post a while ago of a still of Michelle visage where she was having a conversation with someone on drag race where they were talking abt how basically they were sooooo punk (I don't remember what was said exactly) and Michelle said smth they replied to with 'you know I literally have a mcr tattoo' and Michelle says smth like 'i think its cute how you think mcr is punk rock' and ppl started mad discourse in the tags abt genre which obv turned to 'mcr = bad and cringe" and then terfs got a hold of the post it was an absolute shitshow 💀💀\

and now there's another one abt TS and mcr like they're basically the same shit in dif fonts and ppl are being extra annoying in the tags like 'oooooooh mcr is also mid and not edgy at all' 'theyre both annoying they think they're doing smth groundbreaking but they're having a mid off and their fans are equally obnoxious' and trying to 'out-edge' each other with their ~actually obscure~ music taste and its basically the same disk horse but remastered bc there's a new artist added to the mix lol

they are being very nice and also rational (just explain everything rather than guess what I do and don't know—makes sense!) but I wish my coworkers would give me the benefit of the doubt sometimes instead of assuming that I am just a little baby randomly pressing keys when I do something "wrong"

So... this is an idea that I don't know if many will agree with, but I'm putting it out there, anyway.

I feel like, for obvious reasons, Buffy and Angel would always have trauma with the idea of him calling her "Buff."

(Unless, in the future, they managed to talk it out and eventually managed to heal from that, so that eventually he could. That's a great option, too.)

But nicknames are adorable. And while usually I'm opposed to someone in fanon calling a character something they didn't in canon (except in the Kingdom Heart fandom, Sora calling Kairi "Kai," but there's a tiny bit of precedent for that), what if way in the future (after a lot of character development and them having a life together, of course, and them being super comfortable with each other) he called her "Fy" for short some times? (Pronounced like the last part of Buffy's name is pronounced, of course. Or how people sometimes might call a "Fiona" "Fi" for short, for example.)

It might be cute. Especially if it's a special nickname that only he calls her, since if anyone else wants to shorten her name, they just use "Buff". I don't know.

Damn I should be staying up later but here I am yawning like crazy and it's not even 10 =3=;

Easy challenge for fic writers afraid they might be falling into the “therapy-speak dialogue” trap: ban yourself from using the word trauma to describe something bad that happened. I guarantee that will get the cogs turning.

Sickness update: Still coughing, but it's (mostly) dry coughing now, and my headache is gone! But I'm not at 100% back-to-normal mental capacity yet either :(

Writing update: I've been hard at work on my angsty longfic! I was going to work on something lighter (especially with my cold) but all of a sudden more and more ideas to add to my AU kept popping in my head and I just had to jot them down.

Before long I was finally organizing my outline by putting all my previous bullet-point came-to-me-at-random-times-of-the-night-and-put-in-an-equally-random-order concepts into plot-chronological order as they should be, and making headings/sections for the major location changes to find stuff easier, and getting down how exactly series-and-collection-wise I want to go about categorizing the fic and its sequels, and finalizing their titles (which are all names of songs on The Glitch Mob's Drink the Sea album, give it a listen with good headphones if you haven't before, it's great background music!!) and oh yeah I needed to go over the h2hs again better open that doc, and I definitely need to have the game's script and cutscenes on hand for reference as needed (which was very frequently) and now baby I've got a stew going

I'm having so much fun writing characters I haven't gotten to write before, and (minor/vague Xenoblade spoilers) digging into the details of the lore about Face Mechon and expanding on my take of what was happening on the Mechonis before the party got there, and fitting lots of little puzzle pieces that the game gives you but doesn't directly tell you they belong together which is why I love it so much, and getting into such a nice flow state with it all and gjshfhskfh I love Xenoblade 1 so muchhhhhh!!!

So all that is to say I will hopefully be posting the prologue tomorrow or the day after! :) No promises as it's gotten much longer/more-detailed than I planned for (although I really should have expected that, it's always how it goes with me when I'm having fun writing I just can't stop haha) but it is most definitely on the way to being published soon!

Well, I didn't really want to draw actual sparring is the main reason this turned out like this. The justification is that they're both fairly smart, and can spar with words, or have a battle of wits, or something along those lines.

What do you think they're arguing about? I don't know, except that it's probably more likely to be about something dumb than intellectual, but who knows? Maybe it's both.
