90s 80s anime AMV

Twinkle Nora Rock Me! Laserdisc(1985) . . Twinkle Nora Rock Me, the anime quoted to be “the worst anime of all time” and understandably I can see why it got that title. The animation is super super low budget, with from what I read somewhere the frame rate was as low as two frames per second in some scenes, which is just sad. Basically there’s no in between work which makes it so choppy which made a bit of a meme-able anime especially with the infamous dance scene, lol. I saw somewhere saying the probably overspent on the audio/music and ran out of funds to pay for the in between animation which if true is so unfortunate, and actually the LP is longer than the actual OVA runtime! The soundtrack isn’t that bad either! You can listen to it YouTube. And in fact you can watch the ova there as well! Another aspect that labels this as the worst anime would be the general writing of it. You have Nora Scholar as the main protagonist who now a bounty hunter but this times she’s has psychic powers? Which she apparently gets in the manga? (Also the manga itself is a whole level of weirdness.) Anyways her job is to catch a notorious bad guy, a few fight scenes here and there and the some dance scenes at the end and that’s pretty much it lol! Go watch it for yourself and be the judge! . . I’ve actually become fond of Satomi Mikuriya’s artwork! I think his style was bit ahead of his time with others like Buichu Terasawa or Ryochi Ikegami and others where the style was on the border of realistic and cartoonish! So I brought the LD with the Nora manga together! The price was pretty decent as well! Manga Shōnen Monthly published by Asahi Sonorama from 1975 to the early 80s, went defunct and was succeeded by “DUO” Monthly Manga Magazine! This issue covers Nora “The Sulfide/Sulfur Current”, Part one of manga adaptations Cyborg 009 The Legend of the Super Galaxy, Nausca/Nasuka by Leiji Matsumoto, Phoenix by Osamu Tezuka and many other stories! . . Brought this last month with the other Nora stuff. Super cheap but not without reason, pages are super yellowed smell a bit, some dents in the back cover but the front cover has some wear marks but could be worse. I’ll make a post for the laserdisc later this week and that’ll be it for the Nora related content for a while. Se solo quel giorno non avessi sbagliato a prendere l’uscita per la cappella, non sarei più passato sotto questa finestra. E forse... ~ 🎹~ La fama di un opera e della sua autrice accendono facilmente la nostra curiosità. Quindi non ci è voluto tanto per convincermi a prendere “La finestra di Orfeo” di Riyoko Ikeda. Un’opera che si lega alla leggenda di una finestra in rovina di un collegio e del triste destino amoroso di coloro che si affacciano da essa. I protagonisti, Julius e Isaak, lo inizieranno a capire ben presto, sopratutto il primo che, nonostante il nome, in realtà è una ragazza che si finge ragazzo per poter ottenere l’eredità dal padre e proteggere la madre. Una storia tormentata, e diciamolo #maiunagioia da ogni punto di vista. Ma quel genere di drama, di tristezza e sofferenza che troviamo in altre opere sia della Ikeda che di altre autrici del famoso Gruppo 24 (Keiko Takemiya e il suo “Poema” o Moto Hagio più che ne” Il cuore di Thomas” forse in “A cruel God’s above us” che speriamo esca in Italia) ci colpiscono nel profondo, scuotendo qualcosa in noi difficile da spiegare a volte. Sono un genere di storie che non troviamo più fatte con una tale maestria di storytelling, ma anche del disegno con delle tavole semplicemente stupende. Beh, meno male che ci vengono riproposte in nuove edizioni molto belle da collezione ma anche da leggere, forse sopratutto da leggere per capire come i manga si sono evoluti nel corso degli anni... I chose to post this one because it matches the 2 previous draws's color scheme ! this one is very very very inspired by "Ah ! my godess", a old manga of Kosuke Fujishima (does it still get published now ? I stopped waiting new tomes at 26...), himself very inspired by arts nouveau and Alphonse Musha (he has good taste) It's still a "learn how to fly" theme ! (more esoteric attempt for flying...)
