i’m aware i’m 100% alone in this, but i genuinely adore ascended astarion (especially when romanced) because of how—frankly—horrific it is. it’s simultaneously so cathartic in its brutality but so unsatisfying personally while managing to be narratively satisfying (just as his other outcome is, of course).

#ophelia.txt #bg3 spoilers #the way he still has the shell of his old feelings for tav mirrored in his possessiveness of them. that alone does suggest that he’d #probably not subject them to the same overt cruelty that he suffered which makes it all far more dangerous and insidious. because what #humanity—in as much as it can be called thus—remained to him is gone. what made him HIM is gone and all that remains is an incredibly #powerful being who (if you got his scene after moonrise) hates them for letting him go through with it. he has no love left in him now.#only want and resentment and possessiveness. if he loves tav it’s the possessive and selfish love a child has for a toy. but he doesn’t #even respect them. he’s too paranoid now. too drunk on the power he has from his failure to break the cycle (which he. again. resents tav #for allowing). he said right out the gates that true vampires are never created. there’s only ever a sire and a spawn. and he views tav #letting him bite them as them degrading themselves. placing themselves as lesser than him and it’s the new baseline for how he’s going to #treat them because the man they loved is effectively gone. it makes me feel so unwell. i love ascended astarion like okay king of not #breaking the cycle 🙌🙌🙌

the local news here is running this story about a manager at a shell station who, instead of setting the price for premium gas at $6.99, set it at $0.69 and he got fired for it because the station apparently lost $16,000 as a result. it's pissing me off for a lot of reasons but also his family started a gofundme to raise the $16k to pay shell back so he can get his job back. like are you fucking kidding me. shell made $9.1 billion in 2021, you think they need that $16k. this guy didn't deserve to lose his job and gas companies are so ridiculously evil

ohhhhh god we’ve got to another ‘don’t forget we’re in a war’ episode of MASH

#i mean this entirely positively btw #or at least as positively as 'I'm About To Cry In The Next 22 Minutes' can be #for reference: Point Of View is a very famous MASH episode #wherein there is no opening music. entire episode is filmed from the eye POV of a random soldier #(easiest way to describe is like. you're in a video game. you never see the main character you are looking out his eyes)#you get shelled. you hear yourself gurgling. you get transported to the army hospital #and you get treated by this genuinely kind but eccentric cast of charactetrs #and it just. ugh. it does such a good job of both the obvious 'war is bad' message (which needed to be heard during the time MASH came out)#and also just. idk. the thousand little miseries of war #you're injured so badly you need to go home. you're never seeing any of your squad again unless you run into them backseas (if they survive #you get horirfically injured and have to be transported via OUTSIDE OF A HELICOPTER to go to a dinky little hospital in the middle of nowh #you get picked up by this 18 year old kid who politely asks the doctor not to take any 'giant steps' as he helps you on your gurney #(also one man dressed in full pink ladies evening wear screaming 'ALL ABOARD THE TOLEDO EXPRESS)#AAAAaaAAAaaAA

TUEEEEESDAAAAAAYYYY!!! And time for another prompt! :D I think I may have posted this one on an ask or something once, but not as one of my prompts, so... Here, y'all get it again, lol! It's a very casual one this time, lol. Enjoy! XD

Prompt: For this one, I think I was kinda inspired by The Old Guard (and also all the history documentaries I’ve been watching lately, omg), but I was imagining Connor as this immortal warrior and Gavin as his mortal lover who he's lived out countless lifetimes with. Like, maybe Gavin (Gaius, lol) is a Roman centurion in the first century AD and Connor (probably called Conchobor back then) is a wandering Celtic warrior. Connor never dies but Gavin does. And the pain of it clouds Connor’s mind for years to come. But he eventually learns to suppress the pain, to continue on, aimless as it might be now without his beloved by his side. He spends centuries wandering aimlessly, a peerless warrior with a broken heart… Until he meets his reincarnated lover again, this time a Gallic tribesman. And thus, Connor begins this cycle of finding Gavin across the centuries, living out their days together, and then questing for him anew once his spirit passes. And the story itself would follow this immortal Connor tracking his beloved through the modern era to a city named Detroit.

#i miss the snail I kept for a while back in like 2016 he was giant and he was so so sweet he loved me sm :)#bc he was so big I think he was just old and he just didnt care like he was so old he had no fear how metal #his diet was shit tho I didnt know how to keep snails properly oof #he only got rose petals to eat but TO BE FAIR i tried a bunch of different foods and he didnt like anything :/#that being said he had a decent size enclosure I switched out his substrate every other day id move around his sticks and stuff #he had a little bottle cap water bowl so he could Lounge in it without getting stuck if he wanted he lived the highlife #the neighbor kids always told me he probably just somehow got out but I KNOW they took him #they kept their snails in a tiny bucket in their garage. tbh I hope he escaped I dont think I ever found his shell anywhere #NO WAIT I DID I FORGOT I BURRIED IT IT WAS EMPTY I BURRIED IT IN MY FRONT YARD????
