Healthy Distractions: A Ramble by me, an overexcited fanfic writer

nice title eh? alright here we go

opening up with VIRGIL EMO-TOUGH-BOY SANDERS IN A SKELETON ONESIE. POETIC CINEMA AND I HAD TO PAUSE TO STARE AT HIM AND MAKE SURE IT WAS ACTUALLY VIRGIL AND ACTUALLY THE START OF THE ACTUAL VIDEO

ALSO THEY HAVE MOVIE NIGHTS!!!! THEY HANG OUT OUTSIDE OF VIDEOS!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Roman’s little “Oh, wait is that mean? I didn’t mean to- uh, I agree with your new point, Virgil!” he’s trying so hard! i love him

also? Roman’s onesie! Virgil and Roman have onesies!

Patton being super excited that Roman’s movie won even though he literally said he didn’t vote for Frozen? we stan a supportive family

I’ll be honest, I didn’t listen to a single psychological explanation Logan gave the first time I watched the video because I was too excited that there was a new video

But!!!!!! Logan’s explanations are really cool and help mitigate the whole “if you’re not being productive 24/7 you’re doing bad” mentality!!! distractions are okay sometimes!!!

I’d like to put in that Roman is genuinely me watching movies. If I’ve seen a movie more than once, I mock the stupid characters actions and make fun of it because it feels awful to sit still and silent during something so fun. Roman ur valid and also ily

Also, as much as I love angst, I do adore that Remus just pops in and makes comments and no one actually cares

Virgil progressively getting more panicky throughout the episode about whether or not he ruined the night.........................................that shiz hurteded

“Did I screw everything up?” “No I threw your vote out so you couldn’t do that” Roman sweetie no

“Are we making the right decision?” “Alright, I see what you’re saying. Frozen is one of the newer Disney movies...but this was an instant classic-!” yknow Ro’s a little confused but he’s got the spirit

oh jeez Virgil and Patton actually arguing??? inch resting.........

“I’m genuinely asking, do you want me to- I can count them out,”

“No, no-”

“Seven thousand thirty-

“No, no, nononono.”

“-you’re just so literal, I don’t,,,,”

Imma be honest, I feel like we got as much Virgil characterization in this lil Aside as we’ve gotten in the other episodes combined. His character just shines through and i love it

When Logan says “Patton is right,” and Patton gives the sheepish glance like he was upset about arguing with Virge in the first place but was glad to be backed up, did you hear my heart crumbling to pieces?

Remus laughing at “Why have a ballroom with no balls?”

That’s it that’s all I had to say about that

ROMAN MAKING HARDCORE FUN OF HANS WITH THE FACE AND THE DUDEBRO VOICE KJASKJLDKFJDLGKJHLK

Patton made the sad face and Logan was immediately concerned im akjfsdkgjdlkhjhkljdskljgkldfjgsdlkffkjfdlhj-

Logan and Roman agreeing about the tiny plot holes in the movie gave me life

Patton dancing to Let It Go!!! I felt that!!!!

Also all of them lounging around the living room....... domestic.....familial............excellent

Logan!!! Taking the bridge metaphor literally!!! He was so concerned!!! “What about a bridge?” but there IS no bridge!!!!!!!! absolutely gold

REMUS NO DONT TALK ABOUT THE REINDEER

“Look, [making fun] is how I show my love.”

i know everyone has already commented on that line, but beyond logince or prinxiety or whatnot, that validates so much of Roman’s character. All the times he makes comments about the others and then immediately backtracks when the others tell him it’s rude? His continuing to joke about or poke fun at Logan and Virgil even after they’d resolved their issues? Even the line at the beginning when he doesn’t realize he’s being mean to V? He doesn’t have malicious intent. He’s not trying to be mean. Honestly I’d make a guess and say growing up with a brother, and Remus at that, is a big reason for that kind of affection; anyone with siblings knows that joking is a big “hey im fond enough of you to know that making fun of u is innocently funny and also ily” move.

(I love him and I love that line because it was clearly deliberate and explains a lot)

Also this episode shows how smart Roman is!!!! He points out so many things in the movie and makes them better with suggestions!! The “Olaf’s almost melting for Anna should have counted” thing was so astute!! He’s a smart boi just in a different way and i for one am proud of him

Roman and Logan immediately saying what was essentially “if Thomas’ friends believe a lie so easily then they’re bad friends” when Virgil freaked out about it was amazing, they’re right, they’re tag teaming social anxiety and i applaud them

Virgil’s spiral was very well represented in the video!!! the talking fast and getting more intense was............oof

the grounding technique!!!! Logan you beautiful bean you’re so wonderful

Also Logan not taking Virgil’s existential dread answers as actual answers was good, very good, redirection, did I mention Logan is wonderful?

“Just your cool teacher bein his cool self.” He’s never gonna let that go and he SHOULDN’T, he deserves his new title of Coolness

Roman and Patton were so proud!!! (Roman’s smile especially was so cute omg)

Logan’s list of Elsa’s powers and Patton just nodding along was amazing thank you for my life

“It’s to bad we didn’t go to that party. What if your soulmate was there, and now you’ll never get a chance to meet them.”

Logan and Roman subtly agreeing with each other the whole episode was so cute

Again with Roman being smart!!! He’s so good at storytelling!! That alternate plot for Frozen was so good!!!!!!!!! I’m so proud!!!

Also Virgil’s “Oh hell yeah” to Roman’s story was adorable and awesome and I’m running out of adjectives but hnghgnhhnnn g o o d

Thomas writes Frozen fanfiction and Virgil and Patton helped suggest things and Logan looked so proud and my tears are endless and filled with joy

finally......Logan x Unicorn Onesie. that is all goodnight

Shallows, brine, coral!

shallows: what is your typical Starbucks order?

The smell of a coffee house is familiar and foreign all at once. It is a place where I do not tread often. The barista behind the counter, eyes dead and soulless as the demon controlling them asks my order in a monotone rumble. I order a Tall Iced Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha. The barista looks unenthused and simply nods before making my drink.

(tbh i live in a small town and we have one (1) starbucks and its usually too expensive for me, but imma be honest and say that sounds like its right up my alley and i would try it in a heartbeat!)

brine: gold or silver?

Two different and yet similar metals stand before me. Both shine happily and brightly. Both beckon me. My hand reaches for one before hesitation sets in and it falls into my lap. The decision is tough. Do I choose the warmth of the gold, and the vast array of colors it comes in? Or the coolness of silver and the way it’s simple yet stunning? I reach out once again, this time more sure of myself and grab the silver sitting in front of me.

(tbh i love them both! but i gotta go with silver, its just more…idk its more me if that makes sense?)

coral: if you had to describe your personality as a food, what would you be and why?

Food…Food is complex and I don’t quite understand it. In a broad sense I would say any sort of fast food, simply because I’m always in a hurry. Or rather that’s what my mom says. I think I’m more like a specialty burger, one that is comforting, a favorite for some people, hated by others. But that’s okay, I can’t please everyone and those who enjoy my company enjoy it immensely.

(REAL TALK: this one was Hard and i had a rough time with it, but i think it makes sense and it makes me feel good idk.)
