Head Up Seven Up

Finally wrote some of this scene that's been playing out in my head for like a week now. This is part of why I want to scream about Liam from a rooftop. There's more than seven lines but I feel no one will complain. Last part of of the scene is in this post.

“Tatter tot!” I wrapped my arms around the excited nine year old. I laughed as I lifted her up and swung the apartment door closed behind me. “Smells good, Natawista,” I said over the popping of the oil as I walked into the small kitchen area. “Don’t call me that,” Nattie replied with an eye roll. “And don’t eat any of the bread.” She smacked my hand from the pile of temptation waiting to grow on the counter. “Come on, Nat, it’s the best fresh, right Tot?” I turned to Kaye who was still latched onto me and growing heavier by the second. “Yeah!” She readily agreed to her mother’s chagrin. “Whatever, this needs to last the next few days and I can’t be letting the biggest mooch eat it all.” Nat said, the oil nearly drowning her words out as she carefully placed another flattened piece of dough into it. “Mooch? I am nothing but a contributor to this household.” I turned and placed Kaye on the counter separating the kitchen and main room. “You’re getting too big to carry, girl.” “Yeah, uh-uh, I’ve seen more of Kenai lately than you.” As if summoned an excited mnrow sounded from a black shadow trotting down the hall.

Vyxis (he/him): Vyxis is from my Fate Story. He is the emperor of the Arcadian Empire, and he is trying to change the Fate that is set before him. His father died two years ago due to an uprising from the citizens, and he has put in place better protections for them. He has learned of the his Fate, and he wants to kill a god to change it. Because in the end, he will lose and die, and he refuses for that to be his ending.

Vyxis is a transgender man, who is less distrustful than his Fated counterpart, but who is willing to do anything for his goals. Except hurt Ishnir, his wife and second in command. He adores her and would move the world for her. He cares deeply about keeping her safe, and she feels the same about keeping him safe.

Liam (he/him): Liam is from the androids, vampires, and werewolves story. He is a vampire (who have evolved from cats in this universe), and he lives an extravagant lifestyle. His parents were wealthy, and they wanted him to continue what they were doing, but he said fuck no and left. He always dresses stylishly, and he...might not have the best control over his appetite. He's working on it.

Liam is stylish and extravagant and is always covered in glitter (so he sparkles in the sun!). He isn't used to being on his own, and has kind of gotten out of control, but he'll figure it out. Don't have much on him either yet.

Last Line Tag Game

Thank you @romances-not-tragedies for the tag! It has been a word drought for me lately but I finally got some good writing in today.

Here is a bit from my newest WIP, The Taste of Thyme. I have to post these two paragraphs for the context. I'll be posting more of this scene in another tag game post after this if you want even more context.

“My little Kenai!” I bent down and he jumped to my shoulders, his purring and little mrrs disrupted by what I called Kenai’s welcome home grooming session. “Missed you too, buddy,” I managed a kiss to his side. I grinned at Nattie. “My main contribution,” I said, pointing to the cat clinging to my head and shoulders. I flinched as some of his claws dug into part of my shoulder. “Oh, brother,” Nattie huffed, her smile evident as she turned back to the sizzling pan and Kaye laughed. “Why don’t you go clean up, dinner should be ready soon enough.”
