So Backstory time, my friends are doing this RP group thats basically 'boarding school for super sentai kids' and for the hell of it i thought to bring Minyi in (aged up to about 14) since why not

and then i thought 'wouldn't it be WILD if her parents showed up since so many of these kids have tragic backstories so how funny would it be if Minyi really is just here as 'the friend who's in a stable household' (and due to the nature of the AU I needed a human design for Huntsman)

So for my birthday i humbly request that you all look at my plans for Adult Minyi and how she uses her thorough understanding of the criminal underbelly of the city to become a crime princess a La Early Years Red Hood and how that inevitably was what actually put the Spider Clan back on the map again as far as 'respect from other demons' goes.

Bonus:

It's definitely a glamor i haven't quite decided if she'll ACTUALLY get turned into a spider hybrid like her daddy, but atm its just a glamor

it's not that she doesn't like her, in fact she's probably the best candidate to have for her brother to get back out there, but like-

Syntax was kidnapped, mutated and brainwashed and amnesiac for a long time.

She's gonna be protective no matter who's trying to date him

I can also see like, a rather serious conversation between the two women once things between Sying and Syntax are much more clearly romantic. since Minyi is here i can only assume the backstory behind her biomom is still canon so like...

it'd probably go something along the lines of:

"He's been hurt before."

"Pardon...?"

"My brother. He's been hurt before. Badly. Did he ever tell you about Minyi's mother?"

"No he- uh-... when he said he had a daughter at home, I asked if he was married and he said no, he said he'd rather not talk about it and then he... didn't remember enough TO talk about it."

"I see... well... then there's no point in mincing words. Her name was Caihong and she was a selfish bitch. Basically every awful thing you could do emotionally to someone short of abuse, she did to my brother. If he didn't get Minyi out of it I'd call the whole thing something to wish away if i ever got a wish. I'll let him tell you himself if he remembers, but..." Xiuying leans forward to meet Sying's eye.

"My brother's been hurt before. And even if Minyi was too young to remember so was she. So if you ever do anything to hurt either of them, give me a good reason to think that you're just another selfish bitch looking for your own ends through my brother-" she pulled her hatchet from the sheath at her hip, slamming the little ax down in the table between the two of them.

"Have i made myself clear?"

At Sying's nod she breathes a sigh, smiles slightly and pats her shoulder. and Sying gets the feeling that she passed a test of some kind "that doesn't mean you're off the hook little lady. You've still got a few more 'trials' so to speak before you can marry my brother-"

"wait what-?"

The fact that the spiders are canonically dead royally sucks for me in particular cause like, HALF the ocs I have created for this fandom are related to the spider clan in some way. Huntsman with a little sister,Goliath with a partner, Syntax having a whole ass family, not to mention all my ideas for Spider Queen's backstory like. *shakes ocs aggressively* WHAT THE HECK AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE?!?!?!?

Yeah it's really fucked when you think about how versatile the Spider Clan was for making OCs

me and @unseelie-robynx friggin designed Huntsman and Goliath's mothers and from there expanded on the social structures and subclasses and niches of spiders, the different jobs and skills necessary, and how they seemed to have almost completely died off and how that happened

And what the hell am I gonna do Tell Minyi that her Dad is dead?? Minyi is my BABY but more importantly than that She's SYNTAX'S BABY

The upside can at least then be that we can all just look at the work we've done with these characters and OCs and just

So Anyway the creator's are wrong and the Spiders got spat out of Spirit Jail when LBD was defeated and they're currently lying low and/or via recovering from trauma have decided to maybe cut back on the villany and just try to chill for awhile

fuck you [aimed at the writing decision to cut character arcs at the knees and make inherently sympathetic backstories irrelevant]
