oh whoops realizing I never shared this here, but it’s mostly a sketch page of my New York girlies ❤️🫶 Jennie/ NY State & Lynn/ Manhattan, NYC.

I’ve had Lynn for nearly ten years. Honestly I love her so much as a character, her ascent to power is messy and her decisions are highly questionable but that makes her fun (and a bit of an evil girlboss). Similar with Jennie. I’ll save this for another time tho lol

I’ll explain some of the sketches but I don’t have anything errr super important to say in regards to my au lore and what not in this post. I’m just very proud of how this page came out :) !

Hot stuff? She was too shocked? No, no...Amused? Sorta. Well, for one thing, she was stunned into silence, to retort. She was starting to realize this was just him. She chuckled lightly, and laid a hand on the back seat of the shell hog, assessing its mechanics. Well...if Donnie built them...Should be good. She offered a half smirk back at April, and looked the rear tires over for a few seconds before humoring him.

The engine revved and she jumped slightly ( with delight ). Asami was always ready for a high risk drive of any kind. When he so 'subtly' suggested she hold onto him tightly, she shrugged a casual shoulder, not cluing him into anything running through her mind.

"Okay. Just be a gentleman and make sure I'm still back there if you take any sky jumps off the Pike, okay?"

She plucked the helmet off its hook like a pro, and strapped it on before straddling elegantly behind him. Tucking a few loose tendrils of dark locks into the helmet, she adjusted herself until she was very close, doing her best to manage the curve of his shell against her form, so it was comfortable for them both, and safe. Feminine arms wound gently around his waist, her chin resting firmly on the back ridge of his shell and shoulder. She clasped her hands tightly just above his belt. "To be honest...I've never ridden a motorcycle with anyone let alone ride on the back with someone else...this should be exciting.

Your agenda, boss...and don't hold back on my account. I like fast."

FINALLY SAW ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE!!! Holy shit. I was sitting here thinking people were exaggerating saying it was even better than the first, thinking there’s no way you can top that genre-changing masterpiece and I shouldn’t get my hopes too high...I was so wrong. It WAS truly, genuinely a sequel that took the source material and ELEVATED IT x100 while also honoring and building off of it.

The first one made it so obvious that a great deal of love went into every frame, and even more love went into every detail of this one. Truly terrifying scenes, viscerally unsettling visuals, heavy themes, solid callbacks and references, fantastic new characters...this bitch has got it all. My brain is scrambled. I can’t even put my thoughts together, I’m just like *standing ovation*

Perfect balance of making plot points/themes/twists obvious enough that you could guess them coming but not SO obvious that it feels like spoon-feeding, you know??? They did us DIRTY at the end though what do you MEAN it’s a two-parter?!?!?! I said “NO!” aloud in the theatre, I was so wholly gripped by the last five minutes and now we have to wait HOW many years?!?!?!

Blaine hummed happily to himself as he walked down the hallways of NYADA, completely ignoring those not-so-subtle looks and stares that were thrown his way ever since that night at Callbacks. He was on cloud nine (ten, if that was a thing), and no amount of whispers behind his back was going to put a damper on his mood. In fact, he thought it was only natural for the student body to gossip about it; NYADA is a drama school, after all. He just hoped that it wouldn’t affect Kurt too much, considering the fact that Kurt had been at NYADA longer than he was, and probably couldn’t pretend nor ignore most of them the way that he could.

Just thinking about Kurt, however, brought a smile to Blaine’s face as he turned the corner, stopping just in front of Kurt’s classroom. Blaine glanced at his watch then, his heart thumping with excitement. They hadn’t made any plans to meet up for lunch today, so Kurt wouldn’t be expecting to see him, but Blaine honestly just wanted to see Kurt more by finding any excuse he could to spend more time with him. They had been taking things slow so far - the way they said they would, but the more Blaine told himself to give Kurt some space to navigate, the more he missed him, and thus weakening his resolve. He didn’t want to be seen as those needy, insecure type of boyfriend, even though he was, to some extent, but they were finally together now, and it just seemed so wasted to not be spending every minute of every day being in each other’s presence.

When Kurt finally made his way out, Blaine’s mouth curved into a teasing smile as he leaned against the door frame, catching Kurt’s eyes and watching realization dawn on his face. “Hey, you.”

Rewatching Into the Spider-verse drives home something I've seen in other movies but have never been able to comprehend: this idea that living in New York City, living in one of the boroughs, imparts such a sense of identity that one invokes its name as a kind of talisman. In Into, for example, when Aaron first takes Miles into the subway graffiti chapel, Miles tests its echo by shouting 'Brooklyn' in a jubilant manner. This is beyond my comprehension. I've lived in one village and three cities—including the fourth-largest city in North America—and the idea that I would have ever opened my human mouth and shouted the name of any of them, much less a specific neighbourhood, is inexplicable to me. Here, let me experiment: "Ward 2 represent." Nothing. What about: "New Toronto grit." Nada. Hell, I had to look up what the name of my former neighbourhood even was, if that gives you a sense of what kind of impression it left.

Hi Nonny,

The problem is I can definitely see them with a bunny (a white & brown French Lop named Colette not to be confused with the ICON Judith)

But I can ALSO see the girls bringing home a dog in a "can we keep him?" moment and of course Jonathan and Nancy cave (after trying to find the owner first)

So Maybe both????
