"i didn't know how old you were turning, so... yeah. there's a cinema voucher in there. figured you and byan could go on a date or something." and then his hand is reaching out to pat the other's head gently. "happy birthday, kid."

despite the childish nature of the card, and the way elmo stares creepily up at him, he appreciates the sentiment. really the fact that sam had gone out of his way in the first place. a smile tugs across his lips, his gaze shifting from looking down at the elmo card, to looking up at sam. “ i'm definitely not turning three years old, but... it means a lot. i'll gladly use the voucher to take them on a date. ” the smile on his face grows, as he carefully slides the card in his pocket. “ thank you. ”
