boy oh boy uhhh. so you’re asking someone who doesn’t know anything about drugs beyond memes about ketamine and the phrase “acid trip”, and doesn’t understand the difference between advil, aspirin, and tylenol, AND doesn’t know anything about computing or mechanics, so go easy on me as i completely make stuff up. i originally screenshot this to put it in an ask dump but then it got too long so it’s in its own post

there are far more digital drugs than physical ones. the physical ones are likely to be fuel additives to affect the performance of the frame, like an upper for self repair systems or temporary nitro boosts that can give you a burst of speed and energy but also might burn out your engine. cy-gars, cy-garettes, and other aerosol inhalants like what Kup and Ravage smoke do actually have an affect on sensory perception, hijacking chemoreception in the mouth and vents. some numb the neurocircuits and deaden senses and can be medicinally used for pain relief, some wake you up, and some are mildly hallucinogenic in that they can mess with the neurocircuitry they come in contact with, and they can end up addictive for some. none of these are powerful enough to actually get someone properly high or in an altered state, because even cycling aerosols throughout the vents of one’s entire frame is still not enough contact and absorption to really affect the processor. otherwise, there isn’t a lot of physically consumed/injected/applied material that will make you feel wonky or something? it’s almost always about changing or enhancing physical performance, medicinally or otherwise

many drugs are digital files uploaded through medical interfacing, either by a medical professional or in a self-contained USB-stick type device often called a holochip or simultronic stick, comparable to an inhaler or pill bottle or injection that can be easily self applied on the regular. all of these are temporary scripts that run their course and then are naturally cleared from the nervous system. it’s incredibly difficult if not outright impossible to permanently change someone’s hardcoding, especially not in the processor itself. medical drugs like mood stabilizers for mental health issues, inoculations, painkillers, programs to prevent rejection of cloned transplants or kibble additions, immune system conditions or allergy pills, and other types are all well regulated, thoroughly tested in AI simulations, and updated to prevent bugs or accidental immunity. not every program can run on every mech, as everyone’s processor and frame is different. especially when considering the differences in alt mode and kibble, it’s incredibly important for medics to identify and test which drugs will actually run on the operating system of a mech’s nervous circuitry

obviously all of those can be altered, heightened, mixed with physical substances, or just overdosed to cause an altered state of mind or physicality that may be addictive and/or detrimental for the mech in question. recreational drugs or performance enhancers are typically called stimms, circuitjacks, or circuit boosters/speeders. examples include syk and nucleon. bootleg programs are extremely dangerous but not exactly uncommon among addicted communities. most drug addicts have dysphoria of some kind, or are actively self-medicating to escape or ignore something wrong in their lives. sometimes just uploading the wrong program to the wrong frame would act as a narcotic, eg a script coded for mecha with flightframe kibble running on a wheeled grounder frame might get trippy and cause phantom limb sensations... assuming it wasn’t just crippling or lethal. it would be unfair to say that recreational drug usage is universally evil or dangerous or what have you, but i think there’s probably a slightly higher risk factor for mecha than humans? their version of drugs does literally temporarily take over and/or their own processing for awhile. if something goes wrong, the program might not end, might corrupt its file, might replicate or overwrite natural coding on accident, might crash the system, or might eat up too much memory or processing space. a fatal computer error, if you would. (i’m absolutely aware of irl bad reactions to drugs, that’s partially what this is based on, i’m not trying to pretend humans aren’t in danger from irresponsible use or something)

the really bad drugs would just straight up be malware. viruses aren’t uncommon and often act like the flu, and self-replicating programs can be a problem if the processor can’t clear its cache fast enough to get rid of them. but truly malicious viruses actively hijack the frame or delete swathes of code or act invisibly while taking up more and more storage space. nothing is capable of actually mind controlling a mech or what have you, but they can mess with the processor and divorce the function and sensory suites of the frame from conscious control. take it too far, and energon circulation might get messed up, self repair might go on the fritz, cooling might go off and freeze or overheat the frame, neurocircuitry might not have the bandwidth to actually run the virus and start causing fatal lag, or the spark might start guttering from working so hard to support such overworked activity from the viruses

!!! - Evil GOIs abound!

Dr. Cryogonal -- Dr. Cryogonal knew what he wanted to be in his future. He had a significant fascination with ice and snow as a child and made sure that he would do whatever he could to make that dream a reality. Many years later, he graduated with top marks and extensive knowledge of ice. An understanding furthered by his knowledge of the anomalous and his perpetual frost breath.

Then Seymour Snapdragon happened.

The Snapdragon Smugglers "recruited" him, and forced him to be part of their research team and capture unit, usually helping sedate the creatures that were to be sold. During his time as a member, he made what would soon be known as SCP 4462, "The Heat-Seeking Liquid Nitro" . Things didn't end up well, as Cryogonal was thinking of using his almost-sentient creation to freeze Seymour in his place. Instead, he was betrayed by a member he confided his plan to and was frozen alive. Unlike the later victims of 4462, Cryogonal was not frozen solid, but more so sent into a cold, comatose state.

Currently, Cryogonal is being kept at Site 230's medical bay as he's being revived. SCP 4462 has since been recontained after a successful raid.

Synt@x-3RR0R -- Originally an orphan with a unique anomaly, Syn would one day dominate the digital world.

Abandoned for his ability to pull things out of the digital world and have them manifest in real life, Syn would wander the streets for most of his life. He would soon meet other orphans with similar powers and create a small group known as the "Neon Nightsticks" However, things began to change once a boy named Pixel Matrix and his little sister Dot joined.

Syn fell in love with Pixel, and Pixel reciprocated. Together, they lead the Nightsticks in their silly pranks and occasional theft. However, after an accidental murder, Syn began to realize how much power he had, and he loved it. It twisted him, and drove away Pixel, who took Dot and ran.

Nowadays he still runs the group, now a large international hacking and malware group. Syn searches for Pixel, now Ten, and tries to get him to rejoin the group. He's even modified his body with cybernetics to attempt to break through Ten's digital defenses and kidnap him.

Ringleader Regina -- Evil takes many forms, and Regina is one of the most vile. The ringleader positon for the Troupe of Shadows flips in moral polarity for each new ringleader, and the prior one was so nice... so Regina had to be so evil.

She runs the troupe with an iron fist, and makes no exceptions. Using and abusing her powers she has kidnapped many, from elderly to children and forcibly anomalized them to either be main acts or mocked and gawked at as a sideshow attraction.

Her cruelty doens't stop at humans, as she anomalized a dog so its feet swap to a different animal if it makes vocal noise.

Her powers of luring and anomalization make her a very notable foe, and is one of the few to cross the Foundation and successfully get away with kidnapping agents and added them to their group.

She isn't all-powerful, as three sideshow attractions have been successfully contained at Site 230, and she has made enemies with Brunshire Academy for abducting students. Apprehension is bubbling in the group... perhaps a little push could change everything?

The Phalanges -- A first for the !!! meme/game, as The Phalanges isn't a person, but rather a group. Like the foundlings, The Phalanges are the name given to the children born into the Children of the Deep Woods. They maintain this name up until they celebrate they enter puberty, upon which they get a new name reflecting the role they're supposed to fill. If undecided, they can remain a phalange, although usually, they end up becoming Carpals or Tarsals.

The Phalanges are usually seen assisting whoever requests help. It's not uncommon to see a Phalange lass helping skin a fresh kill with the hunters or a Phalange lad helping configure bouquets for the next festival.

The Phalanges are specialized in the use of daggers, as seen in the Spring Harvest Festival post, where they used their small size to trick the anon to jump over them, allowing them to slash the anon's legs. Some of the more coordinated Phalanges are taught to use throwing knives, as seen when one of them successfully threw their blade into the anon's achilles tendon.

I'm on the hunt for someone to write Negan against my Carl Grimes from The Walking Dead. Large age gap warning for people who aren't into it. Prefer to age Carl up to at least 18, but I'm flexible.

I’m open to most aus and have a few ideas kicking around in the back of my head. No-apoc, soul mates, pretty much any au. I’m caught up with the show on paper but I dipped out after season 9, just because of our badly AMC screwed over Chandler Riggs and how they handled the show. Been loosely following the dead city show but I plan on sitting down and watching it properly.

That being said, I don't give a shit about spoilers, I'll happily research and watch clips. Also happy to double. I have some pretty solid experience with all the original The Walking Dead cast. I can provide examples too. I'm also SUPER big into world building and using Canon as more of a sandbox.

I have a guilty enjoyment for portraying Carl as transmasc, but that isn't a requirement if not your cup of tea. I play transmasc and cis male characters best if doubling.

All I ask is that you're mature, understanding bc my work and sleep schedule are whack and don't mind me sending you random memes/things I find funny or relatable to the rp.

Extra note, because I've run into this issue: I can get super wordy with starters and bust the discord Nitro limit several times over. After some bad experiences, I'm trying to reel myself in, but my normal posting length is between 2k-4k characters. I never expect my partners to match when I get wordy and i know situations/scenes vary, but I would prefer a solid 3-5 paragraphs reply from you on average!

16. Who reminds the other to put on sunscreen before going to the beach (or pool)?

Vincent, obviously. but he needs it more than Heather cause she tans rather than burns. If Vincent is in the sun too long, he either turns into a lobster or subconsciously starts to manipulate the shadow to make some shade. (Neither is good, but Heather enjoys seeing both, and red and black are Vincent's colors so now I'm curious of what sunburnt Vincent would look like )

20. What do they argue about the most?

Prolly Heather's sleeping habits or lack of them because as much as Heather sorta picks fights with Vincent, needling him and annoying him about this and that to get a reaction out of him, when it comes to her lack sleep, it's not a joking nature for either of them. Heather is plague by night terrors so she refuses to sleep, though she'd good a faking it (though Vincent can always tells she's actually awake cause she'll slowly rub one foot against the other while she has fallen asleep she's still until that night's nightmare starts.) Though Vincent prefer Heather actually sleep than laying there with her eyes closed until she is certain he's asleep. However he doesn't realize that it's a difficult argument to win as being torment by vivid nightmares, frequently involving past traumas, when you have the ability to alter reality itself is a dangerous combination. Still, he feels like Heather could possible learn to control her nightmare but trying to practice lucid dream, that way she'll be aware of the fact it is a dream and change the situation to something less frightening for herself. Still Heather is stubborn and shoots down any suggestions.

34. Do they go on dates? What are they like?

Yes they do go on dates. I was gonna say that they do crimes together, mostly robberies, ranging from petty thefts to museum heists, maybe a murder or two and a splash of arson here and there, but technically that's Vincent's job which Heather is an "unofficial consultant" on (Vincent pays her a commission out of what he gets from for his services) so I figure that's technically not a date, but they do enjoy work close besides one another, and the line between work and personal life has sorta blurred for them. But there dates vary on who is setting it up. Vincent has taken Heather to the opera a few times, which the original prospect of it didn't thrill her, but Heather actually enjoys it as Vincent will lean in and explain the plot in hushed whispers to her. He also like to take her out dancing from time to time, show her moves that are taken from any of the numerous just dance video games. Plus good ballroom style also carry onto the battle field. Heather like to take Vincent to clubs where she can use her Just Dance moves or she like going to Chuck E. Cheese before she got banned from all establishments for multiple infractions from, hacking the token machine to get endless coins, rigging whack-a-mole so that the moles pop out of the game at like a frigging bottle rocket on nitro, to attempting to get in a fist-fight with Helen Henny after she "flashed Vincent the eyes" (Vincent is thrilled they cannot go there any longer, and finds Dave & Busters a moderately more tolerate venue as it not plagued with toddlers.)

Other than they they do also enjoy going to see horror movies, slashers, and thrillers and laughing like the unstable maniacs they are in the crowded theater.

42. What is their favorite feature of their partner?

Heather like Vincent's talons as he basically has ten super sharp razor blades literally on his finger tips. She like test to see that materials they are able to slick through and also giving Vincent amateur manicures.

Vincent like Heather's hair, from its bright yellow hue to the alternative, punk-rock cut Heather like to keep it in (Tho she sort has to as the hair around her scar grows in patchy and uneven) And he's honored that Heather also has him to clean up her undercut and manage the length for her. Vincent also like to play with it, it's not often that Heather would wear her hair up or anything, but Vincent is always happy to help her find a new way to wear it if she asks. And they both seem to like the addition a braid every now and then.

43. What is the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?

When Heather realized she had feelings for Vincent, she started to listen to him more. She quit toning out his words of warning or talk of this or that- obviously not 100%, but maybe like 80% of the time she was listening to what he was telling her (which was up from the 35% that it started at) And she found out that they were nabbing some pretty cool items. And she started to take interest in what he like (though mostly it was reading which was boring) but she found they way he'd explain things for her really awesome cause he made an effort to make sure she understood

Vincent became begrudgingly more tender towards her. As the anger that always simmers in him stopped peaking as much as it originally would around her. Sure he'd still get mad but his rage seem to decrease faster and faster every time she ticked him off. When she'd interrupt him, he stopped pushing her away, and actually tried to share with her what he was doing as he realized what he thought was her just trying to antagonize him was her just being genuinely curious. He also started to give her more things, like moving her from sleeping on the couch to, "Oh it seems as if this apartment I have in Burbank has two bedrooms. I have to travel there for a job and I suppose while where staying there you can take the spare, it would be pointless to have it go unused in any case."

Oh and Vincent patch up Picksin for Heather as he was all but a tattered mess at best

49. What do they do when they’re away from each other? worry

Well Vincent will read or he will spend time with Umoriti, grooming and making sure his steed is doing alright. But he does also enjoy share that with Heather if she's interested in it at that time (she can be fickle with her interests from day to day) He'll practice the violin also which again something Heather enjoys sharing in that and other day, not so much. One thing that Vincent definitely does without Heather, is he researches Glenbrooke and Project Wendigo. He does it secretly as he originally started to try and figure out who he was getting involved with when he took in Heather as a roommate/business partner but it grew into trying to figure out what and why they had done such deplorable thing not only to Heather but to numerous other individuals. But in digging into it, Vincent had found out exactly what/who they tried to turn Heather into and he is sitting of this information as he doesn't know how the knowledge of Heather "true identity" would affect her, as he personally had a negative one what he discovered his own, and doesn't was to burden Heather with the stigma that may come with the true or make her feel like she isn't her own person, but he also feels guilty of withholding such a heavy truth form her as well.

Heather like to do parkour and free running on her own, and occasionally Vincent will tag along in her shadow. But she also enjoys tinkering. She has a little workspace in the basement in Luvartt where she'll work on different things, mostly at night so she can avoid sleeping. She'll work on either her little robot things like the Furbglar (tm) or she make little homemade firecrackers or explosives- which god forbid she ever drops something everyone would die. She also just generally starts chaos somehow when not with Vincent. which again is why Vincent worries when he's not with Heather.

As a big fan of BL games, I always been very supportive of companies who license and release them in English. I will wait and buy a game, I didn’t play in Japanese yet if it is announced in English and will buy the English version of a bl game I already played in Japanese.

Consider all this I will not support and encourage anyone to support Jast blue anymore and the shit they are doing.

Let’s break this done.

Jast is licensing nitro+chiral game, especially popular in the west and known for their darker content, (which is good even though most of them already had a fan patch) but honestly they are doing a horrible job with it.

Even ignoring that their game often tend to have errors and bugs, but them cutting up and trying to sell their games to minors is a big no no.

I’ve been in their server and they seem completely fine with having 14 years old children on a server for 18+ bl games (and yes I’m sure some played dmmd when they were 14) but were are talking about adults here trying to sell their games to children and not even caring. Also cutting bl games that are not mean to been cut in the first place, is dumb. They removed so much stuff from sweet pool the game didn’t even make sense to people who played it cut. Sure maybe dmmd works a little better but you won’t go far with their other games. Slow damage will be even worse because it’s so much darker and if you cut it you will just remove the whole plot, and all the poor people who will play it cut without even knowing, ruining the game for themselves. Do you need money that badly jast?

Secondly, I would like to talk about a big problem I have with their games: the translation. It’s bad.

They add unnecessary swearing, things like “bro” “dude” making them sounds like so edgy American teenager, I don’t know who is translating this but don’t add stuff that is not there in the first place, don’t try to make everything more “edgy” and don’t try to make Japanese people talk like some Americans, yes this is translated by americans with amrican audience in mind probably but please be more respectful toward the original. Sweet pool already made Makoto sounds stupid but dmmd was just a joke. the game is already seen as a meme but jast made it only worse, to a point you could not read it anymore.

And the last thing that made me especially mad the last few days: How Jast is handling slow damage. One pic of the game showed ones again unnecessary swearing and it was not even translated correctly (sure it can only be this one time but consider they disappointed me enough already, I doubt that)

What makes me really made is how they present the game: as some edgy game meme, what are you doing Jast trying to make a dmmd out of this, or what? Sure, people who didn’t play don’t know it but this game is so far away from being in any way funny or “edgy”. I really want to know if the person who tweets this shit even played the game. Giving the most stupid answers to question people ask. They are not your characters jast answer with that what n+c wrote in the game. Them making a joke character out of Towa, makes so MAD saying stuff like “he would read killing stalking” or “make you worse” WTF jast. Are you fucking stupid to portray a fucking mentally ill character with heavy trauma who is one step away from committing suicide as some fucking joke?? this is not dmmd, THE GAME IS NOT FUNNY, TAKE THIS FUCKING SERIOUS JAST.

Are they so desperate to sell this game that you need edgy 14 year old kids for your costumers? How about selling them for a higher price and taking things serious for ones jast?

I can only imagine a lot of people going into the game expecting some Aoba kind of joke character only to be hit with one of the most traumatic and darkest themes in a game I ever played.

Consider this I won’t ever judge people who still buy their games because some people only have this option.

But this makes me really said, fans deserve a good translation and a game that is treated seriously but all we get is...jast and their cringy joke.

No wonder n+c doesn’t want to work with them if their sell their games for such a low price, and I hope they never can translate lamento because they don’t deserve the game (go play the fanpatch version it’s great) if you want to support n+c directly go buy their games in Japanese, use the fan-translation or machine translation to play it if you can. At this point I don’t think Jast will ever change, and I will not support them in any way.

On a better note, Tokyo Onmyouji will be finally released on the 25th February. Please support the game it looks great and Moonchime Localization did work really hard on it to release it on time unlike some others who make empty promises, took the game and the character seriously and didn’t try to make a joke out of it.

an AU where Bakugou's most hated person is Wash like not even Deku can get to that level of hate

Wash fanboy Bakugou vs Wash Anti Bakugou when?

-Just like with the Wash fanboy Bakugou, this Bakugou has a notebook of Wash statistics but they're just there for him to point at and go 'SEE! SEE THIS GUY AIN'T SHIT!'

- It is an established fact in the neighbourhood that you do not mention Wash in the earshot of the Bakugou child, he can will come for your kneecaps unless you start slandering the guy to the extent that if any lawyer nearby heard they'd be drawing up a defamation lawsuit.

- His hatred starts from a young age, it's a contrived hatred as well and starts purely because his quirk broke *their* washing machine (nitro-glycerine and detergent has got to be a new type of bio-chemical weapon) and because hero merch is terrifying it looked like a wrecked corpse and he was traumatised since and has since convinced himself that he wasn't scared, he just saw the washing machine like that because he hates the guy so much!

He's ended up convincing himself that he hates the hero at this point but his parents are just... shaking their heads in the background because only their child.

- OH! This Bakugou was originally the Wash fanboy but the previously mentioned event gave him his Anakin moment so the world never got to experience such joy.

-In this au I like to imagine he is also completely unbothered by Izuku's desire to be a hero, it's just that he's the only one in the whole prefecture who refuses to bend towards his will that Wash is a terrible hero.

They've had university-level debates over Wash's abilities as a hero and there's a video on herotube somewhere titled 'Aldera Junior High Students debate heroes: Wash' and the description box just says 'Holy shit my classmates are feral nerds, apologies for the shitty ending they actually tried to murder themselves after this' and it somehow made it's way to Wash's PR people who... think Bakugou's stance is staged or even just a role in a debate club so send them both merch as like a 'good job guys!' move.

Bakugou Mitsuki manages to send their share over to the Midoriya household before Katsuki gets back from buying lighter fluid because he's burning this bitch.

- UA is closer to canon, like he's still slightly less canon Bakugou because he no longer wants to replace All Might he's got it into his head that if he's the number one hero he can make Wash too embarrassed to be a hero so he's a different type of insufferable.

Instead of 'slime villain kid' he's known as 'the Wash debate kid!' and so is Midoriya, this causes contention between the two because of how they've never recovered from that fevering war of wills.

- They can wear accessories to the Sports Festival and Katsuki has a big button on his uniform saying 'Mitarai Susugu is the worlds WORST hero' but rather than actually getting his point across it turns into a meme as the hero community had already made the Wash debate kids into a meme.

Monchevy (Versailles) We got into Versailles in about 2017 and loved these two so much, helped by the actors chemistry on screen and off. We don’t post much about Versailles anymore but we still love the show and them, and we have written many Monchevy fics.

Raffles and Bunny (Raffles) We started shipping them casually in about 2012 when we first watched the TV series but we weren’t in the fandom or posting about it much. Then in 2018 we read the books and re-watched the series for maybe a third/fourth time and started shipping them big time. Now we write and post about them a lot! lol. How could you not love them? Partners in Crime forever.

Ian and Barbara (Doctor Who) We started the One era about 10 years ago now (wow) and they’re still in our hearts always. We were pretty much shipping them from their first scene and we got so into them as a ship that we quickly got all the books and audios for an Ian/Barbara fix. Don’t think we’ll ever stop posting about them let’s face it.

Sam and Annie (Life on Mars) This was when it first aired in 06/07 and we loved these two, probably not shipping so much actively as we weren’t really online anywhere to talk about it. But we re-watch once a year and get a good fix.

Thornton and Margaret (North and South) We first shipped them when we first watched it when it first aired but it was only when we re-watched it that we started reading all the fics and getting invested more. We probably re-watch this every year, sometimes more than once tbh, they’re soo good.

Lucy and Jack (While you Were Sleeping) We discovered this when we watched it at school and just loved these two together, so much chemistry. Still watch it all the time, still ship it.

When we think though, neither of us are massive shippers so the same few stay with us always.
