Apologies for butting in and is it ok if you can give your thoughts on Resplendent Roy and Resplendent Lyn?

It’s kind of a bit of a tall order so I’m wondering what are your thoughts on those two Brave Resplendents so far.

No need to apologize, you’re not interrupting anything at all. The only thing I’ll say is PLEASE, IS. STOP GIVING RESPLENDENTS TO BRAVE UNITS I BEG OF YOU. Roy and Lyn already have Resplendents as their base, we need singular units who haven’t even gotten an alt yet to get a Resplendent. Like Arthur. Or Silas. Or the Morgans. Or maybe one of the grail units.

So let’s start with Roy. Apologies because I’m on my phone so screenshots are all I got:

First off, I think this is amazing incorporation. Roy’s outfit actually reminds me of Laevatein, with those armored hip guards. Roy here is very armored up, appropriate of a Muspell outfit, and the cape is very eye-catching without being obnoxious like Ike’s Muspell cape. Though they missed an opportunity to put the Muspell badge as his cape fastener. Still a banger outfit.

The art itself is very nice, gorgeous color work and I think this piece is the art that closest shows how young Roy is. Not that he doesn’t look young in the other pieces, but he doesn’t quite look like a kid. Here he does though. And those POSES, man. That attack pose is so strong, it invokes Smash Bros feelings.

I actually think Muspell was a better pick for Roy than Nifl was. I know Nifl is because of his mom Ninian (yes I know that’s not REALLY confirmed but everything leans heavily towards that being so), but Muspell really compliments his color scheme more, and he IS the Blazing Lion in his Legendary costume. So I feel like this Resplendent is the superior one. 10/10 for him, honestly everything was executed perfectly.

Now onto Lyn:

Uh… The incorporation in this one is not vibin’ with me. Too much fabric, not enough armor, and too much of “they just slapped vague Muspell aesthetic onto her existing outfit without doing any real incorporation”. That chainmail is really awkwardly placed right underneath her tits, too. If they wanted to keep her chest, they could have gone the Laegjarn/Laevatein route of thinner armor with gold embellishments. This is NOT ideal Muspell archer, Niles clearly succeeds here where Lyn fails.

Art is still gorgeous, though. Use of the fabric to add flow was great, color is great. Only criticism is, uhhh… I know she had a big chest, but her tits are not THAT big. Even on her Ninja alt with the armor corset, her chest doesn’t stand out that much. Reminds me of the artist who weirdly made Fallen M!Morgan’s torso super ripped.

Does Muspell fit? I’d actually say no, the Sacaen way of life really perpetuates the spirit of freedom and nature, Muspell’s conquering tendencies and visuals of dead, burnt landscapes doesn’t fit. We should have gotten Ymir Lyn.

Overall, 6/10 for Lyn and it’s really strange that we got TWO Muspell Resplendents in a row.

First one was sword fighters/myrms (Zihark, Navarre, Hana, Laevatein, Lyn)

Second were Snipers (Shamir, Shinon, Igrene) and the Corns

And this one is all wyvern riders.

Okay, few things.

1.) I know I don’t go on here nor am I active in a few years on tumblr. I’m thinking on starting over, I’m not sure.

2.) I’m gonna try and do some FEH edits with the character portraits later, so yay...

Anyways, I made this last night since I got Ninja Laevatain during the weekend, gave her a Dark Blessing, might change it, I’m not sure. But after I did, the first thing that came to mind was, “MAKE A DARK BLESSING ALT OF NINJA LAEV!!“

So I did. After using Clip Studio Paint for maybe a year or so, I got the hang on this. So if I ever feel like making some FEH Edits or characters with a Blessing alt like Resplendent Fire Marth or an Anima Catria, I might post them here.

Ever Two Halves

A fun little team. New Years!Eir needed SP, so she ended up on the team. I thought it would be thematically funny to pair Halloween!Grima(f) and Naga. I paired normal Grima(f) with Summer!Tiki(Y), soooo ....Dragon Mums?

The only two ninjas I managed to pull ended up on the Trial Team. Quan and Ethlyn joined in, mostly to grind up their support rank and grind out Hero Merit :)

Sorry, last post about the Flame Tribe banner I swear… but damn, Muspell really ended up getting the better end of the deal in terms of both artwork and design for his alt in comparison to Nifl.

I’m not trying to throw shade at Suzuhito Yasuda because I absolutely love their artwork for Ninja Laevatein and I like their art for Muspell (though I have some issues with it), but Summer Nifl just was not a great unit in terms of art and costume design (great unit in general, just not in those mentioned fields).

Meanwhile So-Taro, as always, gave us such a banger piece with a FANTASTIC outfit design and great posework (and that crit portrait, holy shit?? He looks so sinister and that’s HOT). It seems like Nifl fans are getting the short end of the stick.

#Fire Emblem Heroes #FEH #If we’re being honest I don’t even really LIKE Nifl as a character (design or personality)#Like the design is so simplified and boring compared to Ymir #Or Askr and Embla #And also the artwork simply doesn’t seem to match up with the personality of the character; especially the neutral attack and damage #Muspell’s design is also pretty lacking but at least his personality makes up for it; and his art actually fits his personality #But this Flame Tribe alt feels like what his design SHOULD have been and hot DAMN it looks so good #And also you can tell so-taro studied Yasuda’s Muspell art when you look at the crit portrait #And the poses ACTUALLY FIT #Because GOSH DAMN I have so many issues with Yasuda’s choice of posing for Nifl; both OG and Seasonal #But that’s for another time when someone suggests them for me to critique

Suzuhito Yasuda is here again, this time being the illustrator for Nifl - God of Ice. They first came to FEH with his work of Laevatein Ninja art. It seems his go-to signature for shoewear are very tall Geta sandals, they actually do exist - they were worn by courtesans during the Edo Era. The three legged one were worn by the highest ranking members called Oiran and Tayuu. So it's pretty neat to see them in some form in FEH.

Ok, feh talk... Ninja banner is always cool looking and they are also finishing the color triangle of auto-double mage cavaliers which is neat! But, I feel like it's too similar to last year, makes it kinda boring... a bunch of fast units with auto-double weapons...

The duo unit is kinda unique cause its a tome cavalier (but even duo skill is the same as last ninja duo) and they changed the sword infantry for a red bow... other than that Igrene is basically duo lyn but change -1 cooldown for teleport shenanigans (even stats are similar) and male corrin is speed but bulkier ninja navarre! And the last, the salt in my wound... Of course two inheritable ninja weapons are too good to give for free, so the solution? Give the exact same type of unit for the ninja tempest trial (axe infantry as usual) so we get almost the same weapon 2 times...

They could at least try to vary the unit type... make the f2p unit use lance instead cause everybody is sick of f2p axes (and also makes more sense for shamir)! make corrin a green dagger, make igrene a calvary dagger or change her weapon to anything so we don't just get ninja lyn version 2... she could even be an axe flier cause at least she and ninja laevatein have stats too much different and different roles, so it wouldn't feel the same
