Below is a list of my favorite episodes from the A&E series, "A NERO WOLFE MYSTERY". Based upon the detective stories and novels written by Rex Stout, the series starred Timothy Hutton and Maury Chaykin as Archie Goodwin and Nero Wolfe:

FAVORITE EPISODES OF "A NERO WOLFE MYSTERY" (2000-2002)

1. (1.02) "Champagne For One" - In this adaptation of Stout's 1958 novel, detective Nero Wolfe investigates the death of a young unwed mother at a charity dance attended by his assistant, Archie Goodwin. The latter had been standing in for an acquaintance, who was related to the wealthy hostess.

2. (2.08) "Before I Die" - A notorious gangster hires Wolfe to protect his real daughter, who is unaware of her father's identity, and stop the woman impersonating her from blackmailing him in this adaptation of Stout's 1947 novella.

3. (2.05) "The Mother Hunt" - In this adaptation of Stout's 1963 novel, a wealthy young widow hires Wolfe and Archie to identify and locate the birth mother of the baby left in the vestibule of her townhouse.

4. (1.08) "Over My Dead Body" - A Montenegro woman claiming to know Wolfe's adopted daughter is suspected of theft and murder at a prestigious fencing club in this adaptation of Stout's 1940 novel.

5. (2.09) "Help Wanted, Male" - In this adaptation of Stout's 1945 novella, Wolfe receives a death threat regarding a past case and hires a look-a-like double to temporarily impersonate him until he can identify the perpetrator.

Honorable Mentioned: (2.06) "Poison à la Carte" - When Wolfe and Archie attend the annual Ten for Aristology, a gourmet society, one of the members is poisoned. Wolfe suspects one of the female servers of the crime.

Maurice Dean Wint as Quentin, on the right, in Cube (1997). Maurice was born in Leicestershire, England, and has 101 acting credits, from a 1981 Canadian tv episode (and the first series to air on a network in the US), to 14 episodes of a Canadian series 2019-22.

His other notable credits include two episodes of The Outer Limits, Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

Sono onesta, mi aspettavo MOLTO di più da rihanna... Sono stata in piedi fino alle 2.25 per vederla perché ero stra curiosa ma più che wow é stato un meh.

Allora lei bellissima come sempre, incinta quindi capisco anche la difficoltà di cambiare abito o ballare.

PERÒ non lo so mi aspettavo di più sotto il punto di vista della musica, ha fatto un sacco di hit e capisco che raggrupparle in cosi poco é estremamente difficile, però ne mancavano un pó e i remix di quelle fatte bho non mi ha fatto impazzire.

Finalmente qualcuno che mi capisce come te, non voglio dire che non é stato bello però io di rihanna ho un ricordo diverso e l'insieme di canzoni scelte la scaletta fatta e i remix... Va be avevo le aspettative altissime. Per intenderci secondo me questo half time sarebbe stato affossato da tutti o considerato noioso ma siccome é rihanna non si tocca e ci sta eh perché credo che le persone dopo cosi tanto volessero solo vederla esibire anche se lei (opinione mia) lo ha fatto perché sempre molto pressata, ma per me lei PER ORA é concentrata su altro non so come dire.

Penso che in generale tutti avessero un ricordo ben differente di Rihanna, e' sempre stata una grande performer, bellissima in ogni sua forma DA SEMPRE e anche adesso, ha sempre portato canzoni e performance iconiche che rendevano anche solo con la sua presenza scenica (il set alla sfilata di Victoria Secrets per sempre famoso). Concordo che da un grande comeback come quello annunciato e su un palco come quello del SBL, ci volesse moolto di piu che tre passi su una passerella e due passi di danza accennati, specialmente da una come lei. Come ho detto nel mio post, i ballerini hanno fatto lo spettacolo vero perche' per il resto sembrava una delle sue sfilate di Savage by Fenty piu che un half-time show. Se si pensa a Katy Perry, che di talento ne ha ma non quanto Rihanna diciamo (specialmente vocalmente) o Shakira e J.Lo due anni fa, o Lady Gaga...si vedeva che erano nella performance, presenti per offrire al pubblico un vero show anche se in pochi minuti. Lei non mi sembrava molto presente, sembrava davvero fosse la per ritirare l'assegno alla fine del concerto e promuovere Fenty Beauty. Le basi e i mix delle canzoni erano praticamente quelle del cd ma col volume piu alto, era in half playback per meta' brani e ovvio, la fatica nel ballare ed essere incinta ci sta tutta, ma allora lo show doveva essere o annullato oppure modificato per renderlo piu' comodo per lei. Ricordo una performance di Anaconda di Nicki Minaj per i VMAs in cui lei alle prove diceva che non riusciva a prendere fiato per rappare una parte, quindi hanno cambiato tutta la coreografia in 20 minuti in modo che riuscisse a respirare. A volerla dire tutta su questo putno, Rihanna non e' una nata ieri, o che non e' mai stata sul palco 'in difficolta' per via dei fiati e dei movimenti. Professioniste del mestiere hanno sempre fatto performance molto piu' energiche della sua ieri con pancioni anche di piu mesi, vedi Shakira che ci faceva pure la danza del ventre di Ojos Asi incinta di 6 mesi o Cardi B che pochi mesi prima di partorire si e' fatta tutto il suo set del Coachella con un pancione enorme e twerkava sul pavimento per ben due weekend). Io sono dell'idea che ci sta anche che non gliene freghi niente della parte musicale della sua vita, che voglia fare altro, che guadagni molto di piu con trucchi e parrucchi, ma se fai una performance per i tuoi fan dopo anni e anni di fermo o la fai bene o non la fai.

Okay, seeing as the days before Halloween are dwindling down and tomorrow I won't be able to watch any movies probably since my cousin's wedding is then, I decided that I would do some watches yesterday and today. This being one of them. I have seen this title many times on lists but never got to it. I think it lived up to what I was expecting. Overall, the acting's fine and I was curious who would make it out. The concept certainly sounds like a movie we've all seen before (Saw or maybe an escape room kinda movie) but keep in mind, this movie came before those and was done on a modest budget. It was a box office flop but it earned a cult following and now it's getting remakes so there's that. Also, not everyone dies because of some trap, a lot of it is due to the building tension between the group. Anyway, these types of concepts work for me as a horror movie because this would be a scary thing to wake up to for sure. I think it's worth checking out personally. Btw, the opening definitely got my attention from the start. I gasped. lol
