MF Day #81: Screeno
And Lasty we have Screeno, a charming looking mixel with a TV box for a head, and a tie to make himself look presentable when making news reports. I feel like had something with him and the other Newzers that the NNGA special didn’t focus on that much. If it were focused on them trying to bring the colorful life back to Mixopolis, rather than some minor background characters that we don’t even know about(or care about), I think the special would’ve turned out better. But hey what can you do.
And that officially wraps up the franchise as a whole. The last yearly set of Mixels was admittedly the weakest of the three. I certainly admire the experimentation it had this time around where they came up with plenty of creative and fun concepts for mixels. It’s just that many of them didn’t have the same whacky and interesting personalities that the first two volumes did so well at. And the fact that they didn’t get to have that much screentime in the show really doesn’t help them to leave the biggest impact on me.
But for all its faults, I still consider this to be a really good batch. And even though the LEGO series has unfortunately discontinued, I am at least glad that the franchise never oversaturated itself and overstayed its welcome.

Usually I talk a lot about them in my conversations with you. What are your real thoughts on LEGO Mixels?
Although I never got around to watching the cartoons or buying the toys, I always had a fondness for the Mixels.
They were a really unique bunch compared to most other products from LEGO at the time. The characters weren’t based in reality like City, or in some big motion picture brand, but rather a wholly original creation with a strongly cartoony look and feel. In fact--like their successor Unikitty--the cartoon was made to complement the looks of the toys, and the toys to complement the cartoon.
Every Mixel, be they an individual or a whole tribe, had fantastic designs and personalities. My favourites being the Infernites, Wiztastics, Mixies, Klinkers, and Newzers.
Although I didn’t get to know them, the Nixels looked like funny villains. Just nasty little buggers you could love to hate. And apparently their King was voiced by Steven (McFreaking) Blum!

MF Day #75: Myke
For a city that’s as big and vibrant as Mixopolis, there’s probably a ton of mixed-up stuff going on with the abondance of tribes and the limitless combinations they create. So it’s nice that they have a group of news reporting mixels to help chronicle these events.
While the Newzers isn’t the most imaginative concept for a mixel tribe, I still really like this inclusion nonetheless. Because I could see them as representing the people who are passionate about inciting history, creating interesting discussions, and spreading awareness for meaningful things, even if it’s something as simple as mixing.
Myke is probably my favorite of the group, being a cool combination of a microphone guy and a tripod. And I just love how his headphones are just a major part of his body. Myke’s overall look is a great representation of one of the most crucial aspects of filming/documenting: editing! Gotta give the guy respect for that.

More Custom Mixels! Series 12!
First we have a tribe themed around money I call the Chingblings.
Center: Bankzer is the leader, and he loves to flaunt his wealth and status. At the same time though, he is quite charitable and will fund projects that benefit the citizens of Mixopolos, so no one really seems to mind.
Left: Sayfe is in charge of guarding Bankzer's money. He's a dutiful guard, but if he gets knocked out cold, his locks end up loosening...
Right: Munnie is Bankzer's beloved Pig-like pet. He has an addiction to collecting loose change and stray coins, but will jump when startled and lose everything again.
Next is a cousin tribe to the Newzers! While the original Newzers are themed around T.V. these mixels are themed around other types of news outlets.
Center: Zignal is a radio host with a very smooth voice. Mixels and Nixels alike are always looking forward to tuning in so they can hear him talk
Left: Jurnall is a field reporter who's always on the hunt for a juicy new story. He has a habit of asking a TON of rapid-fire questions... so he has a Nixel companion who keeps him from going overboard.
Right: Typpo is a shy and quiet Mixel who spends most of his time indoors... often helping edit scripts or updating online news articles. In his free time he likes to browse fanfiction...
Lastly we have the last Tribe. A trio of criminals and robbery experts called the Krook Krew!
Center: Krime is the leader, and he's a very accomplished theif who will stop at nothing to get what he wants, be it as simple as a cookironi or as valuable as a diamond.
Left: Loxxit is a silent and skilled lock picker who rarely ever speaks. He's also very loyal to his friends, to the point he's in charge of safe-guarding any stolen loot.
Right: Blastor is the demolition expert, and who the team relies on if they need to be busted out of jail. Blastor has a nixel buddy who helps smuggle explosives if he gets caught himself.

Transgener ADHD energy
The oldest in the family but is somehow the most chaotic
He will do a n y t h i n g to get that perfect shot. Even putting himself in serious danger.
Reads the Nindja's comics in his spare time
He and Aquad are huge Rivals. Can't even call it friendly, it was just hatred at first sight
Myke
Doesn't really give a shit abt Pronouns, mostly gravitates to She/Her when asked
Can control her own volume settings, and usually stays on mute when on the job
The strong one of the family, you don't hold a boom mike all day and don't gain some kind of muscle
Best friends with Gobbol, when they both have free time you can just find them loitering in an alleyway talking about something
Literally the only one in the family who hasn't been seriously injured at some point

It was fun to do this series, and S9 was fun to work with in the end, though my Nindja choice was a flip-flop between two for a bit.
