NRH NOVEMBER
NEW RUSSIAN SHERLOCK HOLMES IS SO NEW IT TURNS EXACTLY 10 YEARS OLD IN NOVEMBER 2023. WE PICKED THE WRONG FUCKING TAG FOOLS
We truly lived to this moment, what was so new and for what so many people here were still present, is now a decade old next month and we're all a decade older, and the world is a decade grayer, and Panin has been dead for a bit longer than that too. The subs have been fixed ages ago, and released, and let's not lie, for all the little fame that this show managed to gain, it still gained a very respectable spot in the pantheon.
To celebrate the occasion, the Soviet Movie Club(tm) dedicates all of November to watching the series, granted that the month has 8 days we usually occupy and there are 8 episodes those 1h30min runtime ensures we'd only be able to watch one episode per evening anyway, so yea a whole dedicated month it is.
Saturday 4th - BAKER STREET 221B
Sunday 5th - ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS
Saturday 11th - PAGLIACCI
Sunday 12th - THE MISTRESSES OF LORD MOULBREY
Saturday 18th - THE MUSGRAVE RITUAL

(For further context, my roommate has never read/seen any Holmes but understands Russian. I have an entire bookshelf dedicated to Holmes and have watched almost every adaptation you can think of besides these two but don't know Russian)

anyway, the russian holmes' theme is absolutely Top Tier. listening to it at full blast with accompanying orchestral stims is the way to go (35s-in fries my blood alive every time)
