Esattamente 10 anni fa oggi, Harry si è tatuato sulle caviglie Never Gonna Dance Again, e l'ultima volta che abbiamo visto questo tatuaggio è stato il 27 aprile scorso, quando ha postato una foto sul profilo Instagram di Pleasing. Lo stesso giorno è stato pubblicato il trailer del documentario su George Michael "Freedom Uncut".

Lo stesso giorno in cui il profilo di You Are Home ha twittato e postato questo. Coincidenza vuole che il videoclip della canzone Freedom, di George Michael, mostri proprio una valigia e un tavolo (o una sedia? Poco importa.)

Come se non bastasse, il giorno prima, nel corso dell'intervista promozionale per il nuovo album, rilasciata alla rivista Better Homes and Gardens, Harry ha menzionato gli artisti abusati e maltrattati dall'industria musicale e i documentari che trattano questo argomento.

　Taemin’s third full-length album [Never Gonna Dance Again: Act 1] initially started as trying to create a special album by getting inspirations from various films. Instead, it turned out to be a work designed by having 'film' itself as a reference as it would be interesting to unfold this whole album like a film with a story. The album begins with an intense love confession of ‘I know well that you're bad for me’ from the title track ‘Criminal’ and ends with a reminiscence of memories of ‘We will have to live through time and be forgotten. You and I.’ from his prologue single ‘2KIDS’. As Taemin intended, the flow of this album is cinematic. This is all the more so in that the love story unfolds in a sophisticated form of pop and turns the dull imagination of the listener into elegant words unique to the artist, Taemin. 　 Each song is made with a different sound touch as if the scenes from love to parting is depicted vividly in our eyes. The nine tracks adopting an aspect of tango as well as pop and R&B, which are Taemin’s forte, allows us to imagine Taemin’s movement. This is also true for his title track ‘Criminal’. Unlike SuperM’s ‘100’ and ‘Tiger Inside’, ‘Criminal’ is designed to show Taemin’s elegant body itself, not the group dance. If sexuality is emphasized by Taemin’s bizarre movements with his arms tied up on a simple beat in part A, the energy of the vocals gradually gaining strength reaches its pick in part B. Then, in the chorus, when he relaxes his strength and sings in falsetto, the beat is emphasized with more tension, and Taemin’s movement turns unexpectedly according to the changing mood of the song. Like how he did in ‘MOVE’ and ‘WANT’, he freely controls the size and the direction of the energy he puts in his dance and music from anywhere. He is still adept at directing the feelings of love he expresses through his body in intense but restrained movements. 　 However, this film is made perhaps after a much longer time and deeper observation and record than Taemin himself might have thought. From ‘ACE’ to ‘MOVE’ to ‘CRIMINAL’, Taemin has shown from technical elements of breaking his body finely through performance to his natural talent of boldly shaping rhythm into his groove. In this process, the diligence he showed made by adapting to the system of K-pop is also another important point that made him who he is now. When the artist’s ability and the marketing that matches the current trend are combined, it becomes a screenplay that makes the artist as the main character. In other words, [Never Gonna Dance Again: Act 1] is not just one album, it means Taemin’s hard work in his career, not a hair out of place since his early age all becomes a film. 　 Any song in [Never Gonna Dance Again: Act 1] is reminiscent of Taemin’s performance and the fact that all of his past activities act as references to this film excites us. This is why one can explain his album with a single line; that the main character of the film also acts as the director. So no matter when the [Act 2] is released, we anticipate that Taemin will explain the necessity of the series for this album with another reference. Taemin is one of the few artists in Korea with rich stories who is filming by and for himself; an artist that creates work that we always want to get tickets to see.
