Murph chastising Emily for using bad dice, making a little husband-wife pool of good dice, and immediately rolling an 8 is the most murph thing I think he's ever done

idk how to explain it but there’s something both horrifying and poetic about Pinocchio finding out his mom is evil at the same time as everyone else. like, he knew she wasn’t NICE or anything but she always acted as if she had his best intentions in mind and even though she scared him, he was just a kid who didn’t know any better… he didn’t know what a good mom SHOULD be. And all he can do is sit with the unconscious knowledge that something isn’t right but without the power to really do anything about it because he’s just a kid… so he just ignores it because everyone knows that if you don’t look under your bed the boogie man can’t get to you
and then she’s revealed to be a nightmarish cosmic horror in a way that is so sudden and undeniable that he can’t even try to hide anymore or pretend that nothing’s wrong with her. Because ignoring the boogie man didn’t make it go away, and the fact that this is shocking to him is so real and so childlike that is hurts. Pain doesn’t spare the children, and neither do monsters… not in real life and not in fairytales either.

I'm gonna cry over Gerard’s conversation with Red, trying to help her with her issues with being a “monster” and especially hearing him truly explain why he loves his wife. Every mention of Elody fills me with joy because its so clear that Gerard really does love her so truly but he got complacent with their comfort and  was so ready to just be comfortable to be a prince again to have a home again he was careless in holding onto that instead of defending it and it left Elody to  do all the work of actually running and protecting that home. And now that hes looking back and hes coming to terms with things Gerard is seeing that what he did love about Elody WAS her spirit for rebellion and adventure and all the tings he loved about her are all the things he wanted to stop her from doing because in those weeks before it all went to shit those traits meant she was working, she was   stressed and busy and militant and those are feelings and states that are a threat to Gerard being cozy and  frivolous because they were truly in a time of stress and decline.
What he loved about Elody is exactly what made her leave.

okay folks i spent last night on the dropout discord not sleeping until i finished Puzzling the spells from timothy’s book so here’s what we’ve got:
jump from jack be nimble for obvious reasons
expeditious retreat from cinderella because she ran away from the ball and i know everyone thinks its jack and the beanstalk but as far as i, a fool, can tell, jack and the beanstalk never went into the book
lesser restoration from old king cole because brennan literally states that the old king cole rhyme grants tim the spell lesser restoration
calm emotions from the unfinished hey diddle diddle nursery rhyme (the cow jumped over the moon, the dish ran away with the spoon) i guess mostly just because of process of elimination—the spider from little miss muffet went to scheherezade, sleeping beauty wasn’t in the book yet i don’t think, drosselmeyer didn’t get written in the book he just disappeared
and then itsy bitsy spider granted a spell that was too high level—timothy is a level 4 bard and therefore knows up to level 2 spells. web (the most spidery spell) and spider climb (which would make some sense for itsy bitsy) are both level 2 spells, so it can’t be either of those. i think it’s probably water walk, a level 3 spell, because for me at least, that makes more sense than some kind of weather control like people were theorizing
also a lot of people were saying silvery barbs came from senator the ram but senator is first of all, part of king cole’s story, and second of all, tim had silvery barbs before they even met senator (he tried to use it when one of bandlebridge’s guys was yelling at pinocchio), and also silvery barbs wasnt one of the ones ally listed as tim getting them from the book

My favorite thing about Episode 7 of Neverafter is Murph-as-Gerard talking about how much he loves his wife to Ylfa, who is played by Emily, Murph's real-life wife.

If the Stepmother has forsaken her name (a trait known to put you in the power of the Fae), and she asked Pinocchio to specifically look out for Rosamund, then do we think she wishes simply to Look at her? With each retelling, Rosamund seems to get more fairies. In the first, it was 3 and the dark fairy now driven to death by the Stepmother. In the reset, it was 7. In the version of Sleeping Beauty I read as a kid, the princess had 12 fairy godmothers.
From Ylfa’s interaction, we see that “a grandmother will do” before the Stepmother consumes Ylfa’s grandmother, and presumably takes on that role, corrupting Ylfa’s story.
What would happen if it were to happen to a godmother? You know, the very creatures who stripped away the Stepmother’s dreams in the Cinderella story?

Curds and whey is essentially just cottage cheese. Can U imagine being cut free from a spiders web, having a wolf girl, a giant frog and a cat explain that u were at an adult sleepover that went wrong, and then eating a bowl of cottage cheese at a big village party
