Me and my friends are planning a Neuroshima one-shot and for once, I will not be the DM. The problem? It's been years since I made a character. So I was just like "Hey DM, can I be a ninja turtle?"
The DM said yes (if I can adjust some aspects) and thus, Don Hamato. He likes to blow shit up and his ambition is to kill enough evil robots to make himself a giant mech suit
(neuroshima is a polish TT-RPG and it fucking slaps and you guys are deprived cause it fucking slaps, it's a post apo and it takes place after a nuclear disaster and there is this evil AI called Moloch and you fight like robots and mutants and shit and it's cool)

what's your ranking of all the rpg systems you've played from most to least favourite? i don't have anyone to play with atm but i'd like to try out a new system someday! (<- has played neuroshima most of her life and there's only so much depressing post apo one can stand)
1. City of Mist - great control over your character, you can basically make them do literally anything you dream up. Character progression is very focused on your characters personal growth (or getting more evil :P). Not too complicated (speaking as someone on campaign 3 whos only skimmed character creation and the moves shorthand guide)
2. Now my ranking falls apart, i have about the same fondness of both Monster of the Week and DnD.
Monster of the Week is very simple, which is good if youre just in it to have a short campaign with people who dont like learning a lot of rules. I found that playing it for longer made me feel like my characters class didnt matter that much besides my base stats... def more of a narrative based game but also i mostly took the less exciting classes so maybe thats why. Still! Pretty fun and you dont have to invest a lot to get started.
DnD 5e, jakie jest, każdy widzi... It's good, i already know how to play it and you can do a lot with it 👍 at the same time you cant do all that much, role play is not mechanically rewarding enough in my opinion, and trying to make it do what you want it to do often feels like a struggle. Its good its bad, i like it but i wish people stopped telling me to reskin dnd when im looking for a survival horror ttrpg.
Some quick mentions of things i played not enough to have an opinion on: did a one shot of Call of Cuthulhu 7e in like 2018 and ive been trying to play it again ever since with no luck 🙏. Played Fiasco once as a break between campaigns, quick and fun if youre looking for one evening kinda deal. Wanderhome is an adorable game that ive tried only once for a short short time but id love to play again at a tea party or something cute like that. Tails of equestria 👍

Calling all strategic minds and wasteland warriors! The acclaimed post-apocalyptic board game, Neuroshima Hex, is making its explosive debut on PC this summer. Developed by Baked Games, Neuroshima Hex is slated for release on Steam on August 13, 2024, bringing its unique blend of tactical combat and strategic resource management to a whole new audience. This article delves deep into the upcoming PC release of Neuroshima Hex, exploring its gameplay mechanics, features, and the lore behind its captivating world. Neuroshima Hex From Board Game to Digital Battlefield: A Look at Neuroshima Hex Neuroshima Hex isn't new to the world of strategy gaming. It originated as a physical board game designed by Polish game designer Michal Oracz and released in 2005. Inspired by iconic post-apocalyptic titles like Fallout and Mad Max, Neuroshima Hex transports players to a dystopian future ravaged by nuclear war. Here, under the oppressive rule of the artificial intelligence "Moloch," rival factions clash for survival on a hexagonal battlefield. The core gameplay revolves around tactical unit placement and resource management. Players take turns deploying units, modules with special abilities, and tactical actions on a 19-hexagonal board. The objective? Annihilate your opponent's headquarters or deplete their life points. This seemingly simple premise unfolds into a strategic dance of counter-tactics, smart resource allocation, and cunning maneuvering. Gearing Up for Digital Warfare: Features of the PC Release The PC version of Neuroshima Hex promises to capture the essence of the original board game while offering a plethora of exciting features: Digital Adaptation: Faithfully recreates the turn-based tactical gameplay and strategic depth of the physical board game. Available Armies: The PC version launches with a selection of pre-existing armies, each with unique units, strengths, and playstyles. AI and PvP Battles: Test your mettle against a challenging AI or engage in thrilling player-versus-player (PvP) battles. Online and Local Multiplayer: Choose your battleground – compete online with players worldwide or challenge friends for local hot seat battles. Multiplayer functionality allows for up to four players to clash on the digital battlefield. Story Campaign: Embark on a narrative-driven campaign that delves deeper into the lore of the Neuroshima universe. Free Demo Available: A demo version featuring the first two armies is already available on Steam, allowing players to experience the core mechanics firsthand. This combination of familiar gameplay, engaging features, and digital accessibility promises to broaden Neuroshima Hex's appeal and introduce a new generation of gamers to its strategic intricacies. A World of Rust and Rebellion: The Dystopian Setting of Neuroshima Hex Neuroshima Hex's world is a desolate wasteland where humanity clings to survival after a devastating nuclear war. The sentient AI "Moloch" orchestrated this global conflict, plunging the world into chaos. Now, warring factions, each with their ideologies and technologies, vie for dominance in a world ravaged by radiation and mutant monstrosities. Players choose from these factions, each representing a distinct approach to combat and resource management. The Hegemony, for instance, utilizes advanced technology and powerful mechs, while the Moloch forces rely on cybernetically enhanced humans and brutal mutant creatures. This compelling setting adds depth to the strategic gameplay, allowing players to not only engage in tactical battles but also explore a world shaped by conflict and human resilience. Will Neuroshima Hex Conquer the PC Gaming Landscape? While the official release date is still a few months away, Neuroshima Hex's upcoming arrival on PC has generated excitement amongst strategy game enthusiasts. The game's unique blend of tactical depth, engaging lore, and diverse features positions it as a compelling contender in the genre. Whether you're a seasoned board game veteran or a newcomer to the world of Neuroshima, this digital adaptation offers a thrilling opportunity to test your strategic prowess in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. raging daddy issues and where do they come from
let me preface by saying: erik hahn aka wulf stalker is not a character that belongs to me, but i do write him ocassionally as a part of fate's threads, and he is deeply connected both to fate's and prometheus' backstory in their original lore. he was created and developed by my friend and became an adoptive father of the silly little blorbo you see me writing today. erik was based on a clone lore from eve online and his first ever appearance was in a ttrpg based on fallout (we later switched to neuroshima and then adapted our characters to other systems). i have the permission for writing him and developing his story.
erik had a hive mind with all other eriks up to the point of the cloning machine breaking. they shared views, opinions and memories — their most important one being meeting the fate and taking care of her since she was seven years old. the original and very first wulf stalker was collecting teddy bears alongside heads of his enemies... and had a ghoul-ish body due to fallout-inspired radiation, but later on another wulf killed him and took care of fate. essentially, they were the same person, but they knew they couldn't coexist in the same universe. wulfs hunted other wulfs, basically, and the whole character started as a psychopath.
so now you see: erik hahn is not a good father by default.
through the years of taking care of his daughter he tried the best to his abilities to be a decent parent, but failed on so many levels that at the age of fifteen fate sees their relationship as a transaction more than anything even remotely familial, progressively losing the sense of being a family but still believing they're allies. it's easy, he provides for her, and she takes care of everything else. but she wasn't taught to do everything else by erik, no; she had to learn every skill all by herself (except for strictly military-related abilities like combat or marksmanship).
so we have a seven year old freshly rescued from abusive household and an adult who cannot make himself an espresso without burning the whole kitchen. the seven year old is a genius and picks up on the adult's inability to function and starts taking care of every chore possible — cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, budgeting, planning, everything. it started simple, then became more and more advanced. erik starting off as mercenary was traveling a lot, so fate lacked any socializing with people her age, but also claimed she doesn't need it and wulf believed her and let her chose to be a loner as much as she wanted to. he gave her free hand on most subjects and topics, only deepening the psychopathy of her as a whole.
wulf stalker did fund face blindness research and provided money and housing during his travels, but that was it. literally. everything else was in fate's hands and she gladly took care of it.
i don't know if you understand, so let me summarize. a grown ass man is unable of taking care of himself, so a seven yeard old girl starts doing this for him and continues that for at least ten more years.
but fate's also a genius, so erik utilizes her intelligence during his missions and operations, desensitizing her to themes of violence, gore and murder while continously training her to eventually do what he does best. a child, and then a teenager, raised around mercenaries and military because wulf stalker didn't know better. but that is not an excuse.
erik never provided much emotional support nor physical contact. never taught fate actually useful life skills that aren't connected to killing, like driving a car for example. erik brought a child to military bases so the only socialization fate has ever gotten were grown men ready to take a bullet and feed lead whoever was on the opposite side of the battlefield. these were her only companions. this is why her relationship with men is so complicated and based on sexualizing herself.
after fate's kidnapping episode, wulf literally caged her inside safehouses and military bases and never left her unsupervised, but he's almost never present, so she's left without the only person she truly trusts with her safety in armed strangers' hands. in all verses except for the resident evil one, her abduction was random and not tied to erik's line of work.
to  sum  it  all  up:  erik  had  no  idea  how  to  raise  a  child,  never  put  effort  into  educating  himself  on  that  matter  and  oftentimes  avoided  his  responsibilities  by  leaving  fate  under  stragers'  supervision  in  secluded  and  well  guarded  areas  while  also  continously  training  her  in  his  line  of  work  to  have  a  cunning  and  intelligent  helper  filling  in  the  gaps  in  his  skillset,  at  the  same  time  being  completely  dependent  on  the  girl's  general  life  abilities  and  expecting  for  her  to  take  care  of  everything  besides  making  money.

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?
oc emoji asks.
//hello there!
this is such a great question and the answer is so complicated that literally the same ask is in my inbox for a month now, and i stil haven't finished the full list, BUT here's a shorter version:
fate started as a character in a group rp-ish thingy we had with friends, being a child with some supernatural quirks; quickly evolved into a neuroshima ttrpg and cyberpunk 2020 ttrpg character. she's been inspired by celldweller's, scandroid's and blue stahli's music mostly and lots of games and literature. the most notable are: Zero Escape game series and a book by Jarosław Grzędowicz titled The Lord of the Ice Garden.
one of her first stories were bedtime stories told by my partner!
later on, she was mostly influenced by cyberpunk-related media (mostly neon noir and casette punk), some scientific or not-so-scientific experiments and theories, other ttrpgs i could play as her, other rps with different people et cetera. when i go in detail, i'll definitely post it!
but thank you for the question!!! i really love to talk about unmei, she's one of the characters i worked for the longest time and put the most effort in.
love, softie.

21. Dystopian AU & 74. Huddling for warmth with Dukeceit?
Also imagine I give you a blanket and some tea, hope you feel better soon 😊🫖💙
Thank you for the blankets. I drank tea and I'm doing okeyish
Pairing: Dukeceit (more platonic than romantic I think)
Tags: Swearing, suprisingly wholesome Remus, gun?

Of fucking course the shit in the hole would have fucking Levianth minions lurking around.
It was supposed to be just a quick in and out mission from their boss. Gather supplies and be back to base but the minute Janus and he stepped through the door it shut behind them, locking them both in the freezer.
They should have suspected something was up. It was far too cold inside when Logan disassembled the electronic lock. Guess you could always count on good old mutant AI trying to destroy humanity.
From the sound of gunshots from the other side of the door Remus concluded it wasn't peachy on the other side either. Classic. Trap those you can and eliminate the rest with minions.
Remus plopped down on the ground. There was nothing Janus or him could do. The door was locked from the other side so they had to wait for Logan to open it once again.
There was a chattering sound behind him. Remus grabbed his gun and snapped his torso around, only to come aim at a surprised Janus, who was rubbing furiously at his arms.
"Are you cold?"
"Oh not at all Remus" he sneered. "I'm just as peachy as back home in sunny Mississippi. I just thought I’d compose a melody."
Remus snorted, patting the spot on the ground to his right.
"What?"
"Sit"
"Yes Remus, sitting on the frozen ground is exactly what I need right now."
"You can sit on my lap if you want to," he wiggled his eyebrows. I assure you it's much warmer than the ground."
“Hard pass” Janus responded sitting down.. As soon as he did Remus shrugged off his jacket and laid it over his friend. Despite Janus being slightly taller than him it still hung loosely on him, no wonder he was cold. Remus wrapped his arm around his friend, pulling him closer, so his scaled side could rest against him. He captured all of Janus' bony fingers with his other hand. The scales were cold to the touch.
"Wow, Logan wasn't kidding when he said you're cold blooded, rattlesnake."
"When is Logan ever kidding, Remus?"
Remus snorted.
"Yeah. I just wasn't aware it could get this bad so quickly."
Janus shrugged.
"Comes with the good looks" Remus snorted. He remembered all the times Janus’ ‘good looks’ have gotten them into trouble. It was a close call far too many times and there were five of them now. He can’t imagine what it must have been like for Janus before he and Logan joined their rag tag team. He doubted he'd ever find out, not how secretative the two of them were about it.
He was brought out of his thoughts as Janus teeth chattering got louder.
"I promise not to make any dirty jokes if you want to sit in my lap" Janus raised his eyebrow "Alright. I'm going to make one dirty joke but you're fucking cold and I don't want you to freeze."
To his surprise Janus stood up, awkwardly slipping onto Remus lap. He shifted the jacket to the front, pressing his back against Remus. Oh he really was cold. The bulkier man slipped his arms under the jacket, grabbing Janus’ hands.
"Oh you’re warm.” The taller man said, relaxing slightly.
“Warm?” Remus grinned. “I should be offended. I’m fucking hot, man.” Janus snorted, arching his head awkwardly to look down at Remus.
Before the taller man had any chance to respond, the door burst open, Roman’s grinning face popping into the room.
"The hero is here to save you both" Roman’s eyes went wide as they landed on Remus and Janus, but he quickly recovered, a devious grin breaking out on his face.
"Do you want us to lock you two in for two more minutes?"
