McLaren success this weekend across the board so far:
- Taylor Barnard (McLaren FE reserve) won the F2 Monaco Sprint
- Gabriel Bortoleto (McLaren development driver) scored P2 in the F2 Monaco Sprint
- Jake Hughes won pole and then secured P2 at the Shanghai E-Prix
- Oscar Piastri secured P2 at the Monaco Grand Prix and Lando still bagged a good haul of points with P4
all that's left is the Indy 500 👀
UPDATE: as devastating as the end of that race was, still massive achievement for Pato with a P2

Update following Robin to Envision:
Tumblr media
Both Sam Bird and Robin Frijns are officially going to be announced right after the season has ended. René Rast his departure from McLaren will also be announced by the end of this month
DS Penske: I think they're both staying on. It would make sense imo and neither drivers have been rumoured elsewhere
Nio 333: Unsure about them. They could remain with the same line-up. Afaik Dan Ticktum isn't rumoured somewhere else, Sergio Sette Camara is in talks with other teams, but not sure if anything is coming from that.
ABT Cupra: Both had contracts however they're both free to leave. Robin really wanted to leave and now is leaving to Envision. Potential drivers in his seat could be Kelvin van der Linde or Adrien Tambay
NEOM McLaren: Jake Hughes is likely staying on and Rene Rast is leaving FE completely. He'll likely be focussing on a DTM/WEC double with BMW. Sam Bird is very likely to get his seat.
Maserati MSG: I remember reading Edo has a contract for next year, though contracts don't always mean that much. Günther could be leaving to return to a team like Andretti or join Nissan or Envision. Meanwhile Nyck de Vries is rumoured to maybe join them. He was meant to race for them this season but an F1 seat came in between. Felipe Drugovich has also impressed during rookie sessions so he could also be a candidate. Also added Sergio as he was among the list but I'm unsure if he's actually in contention for a seat there.
Mahindra: Mehri is definitely leaving, and now di Grassi also seems to be in discussions with teams such as Nissan and Andretti. Mahindra needs stability if they want to improve but I don't think someone like Lucas wants to stay with this performance. Norman Nato could be joining them, he doesn't have too many options as he's being booted from Nissan. Also speculated could be Jordan King or Jehan Daruvala. Both have done rookie tests with the team.
Jaguar TCS: Mitch Evans is staying and getting a new teammate in Nick Cassidy. Sam Bird is leaving to McLaren
Tag Heuer Porsche: Both drivers, António Félix da Costa and Pascal Wehrlein are likely to stay on.
Envision: Envision: Buemi is staying and Cassidy is leaving to Jaguar. Frijns is taking his seat.
Nissan: Sacha Fenestraz is likely staying on. Norman Nato seems to be booted from the team. However the second seat seems to belong to a lot of other drivers. It's a question who ends up there.
Avalanche Andretti: Jake Dennis is staying and Andre Lotterer is leaving to completely focus on WEC with Porsche. For this seat many drivers are also rumoured.

This is a very specific post for people who are fans of FE and Emily in Paris (not sure what that venn diagram looks like but I imagine it's small lol). Anyways, I'm catching up on the Diriyah e-prix and stumbled across Lucien Laviscount (Love interest #2 from Emily in Paris) doing an interview, and I was like ???? Ariana, what are you doing here? But then I remembered that Emily in Paris had an episode that was basically a bona fide Mclaren ad, so I thought he was there as a guest of the Mclaren Neom team right? Wrong. He was a guest of Avalanche Andretti. Mclaren fumbled the marketing bag once again. How could they not see this opportunity for cross promotion? Do you know how many Emily in Paris fans follow that man's every move because of his face? It's such an easy way to introduce a new demographic to racing and gain your team support, but no. Once again, Mclaren and their poor marketing missed the plot. Anyways, that's it. Back to watching the e-prix lol

FE: Pre-Season Testing Wraps Up in Valencia
The high-octane thrill of Formula E racing roared to life at the conclusion of the pre-season testing in Valencia, Spain, setting the stage for an electrifying 2023/24 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The test sessions at Circuit Ricardo Tormo witnessed exhilarating performances, with 19 drivers logging fastest laps within a breathtakingly close 0.7-second window.
Fresh off the track, the event marked the only occasion before the championship's kickoff in Mexico City on January 13, bringing together all 22 drivers and 11 teams for a dynamic preview of what's to come.
A cumulative total of 4,960 laps and 16,745 kilometers were clocked by drivers and rookies alike during the pre-season testing. Notably, Gabriela Jílkova etched her name in history as the first woman to maneuver the GEN3 car, completing a 46-lap run for TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team.
The competition roared into action right from the get-go. Mitch Evans of Jaguar TCS Racing set a blistering pace in the initial session, outpacing the 2022 record by more than half a second. However, the spotlight soon shifted to Nick Cassidy, making his Jaguar debut by seizing the fastest lap time on Friday, leaving an indelible mark and pushing Evans to intensify the rivalry within the team.
Jaguar's formidable presence and their challenge to claim the top spot before the season's start in Mexico City only add to the brewing excitement. The battle for supremacy between teammates in the same garage hints at a gripping narrative awaiting Formula E enthusiasts.
The testing also included a 10-hour session that featured a 27-lap race simulation. Teams and drivers underwent a comprehensive test of a full race program, encompassing fast-charging pit stops, caution periods, and Safety Car maneuvers, adding depth to their preparations.
Envision Racing's Robin Frijns showcased impressive form, leading the pack at the chequered flag, closely followed by competitors like Antonio Felix da Costa and Evans, reflecting the intense competition among the seasoned drivers.
Noteworthy performances by newcomers injected an extra spark into the sessions. Rookie Barnard, behind the wheel of Sam Bird's NEOM McLaren, blazed the track to claim a top spot, setting a time that rivaled last year's fastest lap at Valencia.
Despite challenges faced by teams, such as Mahindra Racing contending with equipment damage due to a pit lane fire, the resilience and dedication exhibited by drivers throughout the testing bode well for an enthralling season ahead.
As the dust settles in Valencia and the countdown begins to the season opener in Mexico City, the Formula E paddock braces for what promises to be a fiercely contested and unpredictable championship, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.

Andretti's Dennis wins first FE race of Gen3 era in Mexico City
Andretti's Dennis wins first FE race of Gen3 era in Mexico City
Avalanche Andretti’s Jake Dennis came out on top in Saturday’s safety car-packed opening round of the 2023 FIA ABB Formula E Championship held in Mexico City. Dennis held a comfortable advantage at the checkered flag, with Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein and Mahindra’s Lucas di Grassi completing FE’s maiden Gen3 podium. From pole, di Grassi led the field off the line, with Dennis and NEOM McLaren’s…
