re:godot - so from what i understand godot is still very much Like He Is about mia as his core character trait, so take that as you will, but the translation thing specifically is from i think the final case in the third game in which, in english, he tells franziska von karma "Know your role, and shut your mouth. I can't stand women like you."

what happened there is that in japanese supposedly that last bit is closer to "people like you" than "women like you", and more importantly "know your role and shut your mouth" is a translator joke because it was just fully the exact catchphrase of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson while he was wrestling. i have to imagine someone on the english localization team slotted that in there and did not think enough about what it sounds like if you don't recognize the reference

HFKSKDG DWAYNE THE ROCK JOHNSON... okay thats kind of hilarious and does lessen my hatred of him a little bit. i love the aa localization overall but they really could have been more careful with that line change. thanks for the info!

4. Movie of the year?

if we're talking movies that came out this year i think literally the only new movie i watched was across the spiderverse...? i've been watching a lot of movies that Didn't come out this year though. not sure if any of them stood out enough to be movie of the year... saw probably gets the crown just on account of the fact that i Got Into Saw this year

13. How was your birthday this year?

i literally couldn't remember so i had to go look at all the messages i sent in my discord servers on my birthday and apparently i caught a cold on my birthday this year, which is really unfortunate. but i also got a lot of lovely gifts from my friends :-) i would say overall i had a good day even though the next few days ended up being a little bit miserable. yosy

22. Favorite place you visited this year?

i think i only really traveled once this year? i went to nyc and saw hadestown on broadway so that was awesome, made me bawl, really good musical

I present to you fan art that I made for the ‘The Price of Living On’ fic by @neildylandy (I enjoy this fic a lot and encourage you to check it out if you haven’t already)

Including both versions because I can’t decide which version to share so why not both? (First one felt a bit empty(?) so I took it upon myself to try and add to it but I’m not sure if I like it or not..) Also! I originally wasn’t intending on using a Veda terminal for the setting of the drawing but it just sorta happened after something said “challenge yourself a little, experiment a bit!” So there’s that for you. (Also to the peeps who are able to draw Veda terminals you have my respect, I struggled with this a lot)

This wasn’t supposed to be as detailed as what it turned out to be in the end, but it made for good practice methinks so it worked out well in the end! I know that I’d definitely love to recreate one or two different scenes from this fic in a experimental style/format but I’m not sure when that’ll happen, so thumbnailing will probably be my best friend for ideas I dunno.

were you thinking of transcribing the text or just posting scans? ocr might be able to extract the text for you but that would still involve getting clear images of the pages

tears of the kingdom, of course, and also an honorable mention to kirby's return to dreamland deluxe which came out last week but i am still waiting a few more weeks to actually receive
