Honestly, this is stupid, but I still cannot get over they blew up the Bentley for real. I mean ...
Is this a rarity? Or not? How many functioning oldtimer Bentley is out there? They didn't even manage to find two matching one, not to mention finding two from the same year, and they just destroyed one of them o.O
I truly had a moment when I came to know this "fun" fact.
Edit: I was wrong, what a relief ^_^ see this post https://www.tumblr.com/scrapheapchallenge/727682707785678849/hello-neil-first-of-all-i-loved-s2-and-felt-the?source=share

The Mechanisms and TMA Entities
Jonny d’Ville: The Slaughter-  Officer Calahan: “So you’re waiting for, what? A ship? You’ve been ruining people’s lives around here for almost 30 years. I’ve got case files on dozens of break-outs, rampages, schemes. And that’s only the last decade.”
Ashes O’Reiley: The Web- They could also be The Desolation, but I’m not allowing duplicates. And they can also be The Web because of their time as Hades, manipulating the poor of the City and their fellow Olympians. And the reason why people are afraid of the Archeron is because they fear their mind being used for someone else’s purposes and not being in control of their thoughts. That falls under The Web.
Dr. Carmilla: The End- We don’t know much about her, but she found a way to cheat death with completely unconditional immortality. And her creations went on to inflict so much death themselves.
DrumBot Brian: The Dark-  “They took him and threw him into the sky. / Whence he came and where he would die. / In the cold of space his eyes did bleed. / With crystals glimm’ring his body did freeze.”
Gunpowder Tim: The Desolation- He’s the reason why I couldn’t give Ashes The Desolation. I suppose he could also be The Slaughter, since that’s where the Piper comes from, and his backstory is Steampunk WW1, but Jonny doesn’t have the pyromania that The Desolation invokes, while Tim does. And Tim is specifically associated with explosions and the wide swath of destruction that leaves.
Raphaella la Congnizi: The Corruption- We know nothing about Raphaella except that she’s a Science Officer. The Corruption is associated with the reckless seeking out of knowledge, as we see with the preinfected Jane Prentiss and Neil Thompson (the doctor from Blood Bag) that eventually consumes you.
Baron Marius von Raum: The Flesh- The same situation as Raphaella is present with Marius. Honestly with both The Flesh and The Corruption’s association with dangerous science, it’s a toss up. But through Jared Hopworth, The Flesh is more specifically associated with dangerous surgeries, so it goes to the medic. While the Science Officer would also be responsible for creepy alien bugs.
Ivy Alexandria: The Beholding- Well, she’s literally the ship’s Archivist, a role that has consumed her:  “None of it was her, and none of it means anything. Ask, and she will tell you: she is search engine, encyclopaedia, almanac, index. She is not the reader, but the book, a library of books, each waiting its turn on the dusty shelves of an endless archive, centuries in the building.”
Nastya Rasputina: The Stranger-  Being in a romantic relationship with a ship has very big Stranger vibes. And cyberpunk elements of Cyberia increases The Stranger elements of the Russian Revolution. The bourgeoisie are wholly isolated from the proletariat with their VR, strangers to each other. And there’s a robot Lenin.
The Toy Soldier: The Lonely- One’s first instinct would be to make it the Stranger instead, but really, it fits The Lonely better. This isn’t me going for a weaker connection to reserve The Stranger for Nastya. It was created to replace the old lady’s dead fiance, and she tried to love it instead. It left the museum it was left to because it was lonely. Its backstory is just it seeking out someone else to love it, and it was created to replace someone’s lack of human connection.
Scuzz Nishimura- The Hunt: She’s one of the guest crew members, so I have even less to go on. But she is a ninja. And ninjas were assassins, so she gets The Hunt.
Stowaway- The Buried: Stowaways are associated with hiding in tight spaces and being crammed in with all the cargo. Hence The Buried.
Drumbot Beta: The Spiral- From the name, I assume it’s a prototype of Drum BotBeta, since Dr. Carmila had to construct a being that was more mechanism than organic for Brian. Keeping a prototype of yourself around is pretty Spirally.
The Aurora: The Vast- The Aurora is most associated with space, taking the crew on slow sublight journeys between jump points, the size of the universe. Originally, Brian was the Vast for the same dying in space reasons, but then I realized I had to include The Aurora to have enough Mechanisms for all of the Fears. And the Aurora can only really be The Vast, while Brian dying in from the cold of space can associate with him with The Dark and how they abhor the sun and its warmth.

WIPs
tagged by @peppersandcats to share about all my wips in however much detail I felt like (though I’m more than open to answering questions if anyone has an interest in extras)
Original:
I’m actually starting Real Work this year on my witch noir novel series. It’s an urban fantasy crime noir. Think of something like what would happen if Gillian Flynn and Neil Gaiman shared brainspace for a hot minute (or at least that’s what I’m going for lmfao rip). A summary of the first book, Curse the Messenger (working title), featuring a mentally ill Puerto Rican lesbian as the main character, is as follows:
Watchtower Private Investigations has a steady-ish stream of business, both from ordinary clients (either of the discreet or the oblivious variety) and from fellow witches. Their cases are usually small fries, in a relative sense, until Jessica Hase brings them her ex-girlfriend's murder after the police refuse to expend resources on it. Jessica presents her case to Fred and Eddie, and what the police had written off as any old hate crime instead looks like the latest in a horrific supernatural serial crime spree. In between unwillingly falling in love with the mysterious Jessica and surviving her traumatic premonitions, Eddie and her sister must solve the murders before someone else disappears just like their father did.
Fic:
Flashpoint [7/13] DCTV, westallen in which the Flashpoint Paradox lasts more than one episode
don’t care if it’s all true (i want you) [1/3] DCU, bruharley + sirens in which Bruce and Harley get fake married to stick it to Joker and then make things really complicated because that’s just who they are as people
Aren’t We Aging Well Shameless, gallavich the sequel to The Babysitter’s Here in which Terry gets run out of town
Zwangsneurose MCU, stucky in which Steve has trauma-related contamination type OCD and Bucky has trauma-related hygienic dysfunction, post-TWS canon divergence AU with pre-canon snapshots
Fireman’s Carry DCTV, Firestorm/Mick, Mick Rory Appreciation Porn in which the line between pyromania and pyrophilia is really really thin
Mission Report: December 16, 1991 MCU, gen in which the Winter Soldier successfully assassinates Howard Stark but not for lack of trying really hard not to
Bet There’s Something Good Upstream FMA, royed daemon AU in which Roy sneakily makes his daemon look like a status symbol pet and Ed lets him think he fell for it
That Romantic Glow DCU, superbat in which Clark is bioluminescent leading Bruce to assume he is nonmammalian and attempt to kill his attraction with Fun Nonmammalian Facts only to traumatize himself instead by not being put off
All Six (Senses) DCEU, polyleague the sequel to Forms of Encouragement in which Bruce’s doms all team up on him and keep him guessing
Rainbow Roll DCTV, supercorp in which Kara loves to eat and Lena keeps her well fed, wink wink
1234 (tell me that you love me more) YOI, victuuri in which Yuuri is not actually a virgin, but Victor is still his First
Gender Indemnity DCU, gen in which Bruce’s multiple identities also have multiple genders through no particular fault of his own (that is, at first)
There are so many not because I’m a fount of ideas, but because I’m just that fucking slow lmfao. This isn’t even all of them; these are only the ones that have a significant start.... -_-”
I tag @montyfalsworth @maryse-lightwoods @amuletgays @smol-merci @piyo-13 @wollfgangsblog @shanastoryteller @identityconstellations @memorydragon @waterwitchesmovingstone @alex-mahone @sashayed @batdad @spacebuck @unpretty @the-rat-wins @calllay ........ @neil-gaiman ?? (a person can dream lmfao)
Anyway if you don’t feel like doing it or don’t know why on earth I tagged you, it’s because you’re one of my favorite authors! Meant as a compliment, not an obligation :)

can I ask you about olaf and 22, 42 and 49?
Character solidifying!22. Who are their friends? Lovers? ‘Type’ or ‘ideal’ partner?
Friends? Which ones? He’s never had any. He grew up an only child and well, I’ve talked about how he grew up, so it’s needless to say at Wade/Prufrock no one really liked him so he was mostly a flamboyant and unpleasant loner who thought he was too good for everyone anyway. Maybe he felt most comfortable with the drama crew because he had a little more in common with them and they had to be around him whether they liked it or not, but he wasn’t particularly close to any of them. Then life taught him better than to trust anyone. Dog eat dog world. Use or be used. So he sees his troupe/hechpeople as nothing more than that, the people who do his bidding and must obey him. He doesn’t trust any of them. He enjoys their company sometimes, but he never reveals anything meaningful about himself to them. Then the love department,,,, no one hecking knows how he has so much game. I’m inclined to think it’s something about that cockiness and arrogant everyone finds attractive. Of course first there was The Kit Snicket, and he’s ever fully moved on. Again, he didn’t truly trust anyone he had a relationship with and only got in them for some ulterior motive until Esmé Squalor, who is not Kit Snicket but is the ideal partner. They see eye to eye on morale and most other things, and have the same goals. She coos him and praises him as much as he likes, and she’s clever enough to pull through with schemes and plots when he needs her to. She’s as calculating and as manipulative so things between them are always interesting. She may be a pain in the arse sometimes (but then again who in the world isn’t? and at least she’s more than pleasant to look at) but he’s learnt to deal with her fairly well. They fake compromise on things they don’t really care about to keep each other happy, and that’s pretty much all he asks for.
42. What does your character want most? What do they need really badly, compulsively? What are they willing to do, to sacrifice, to obtain?
What he wants most is instant gratification, thefeeling of empowerment. What are applause, money and lip balm if not that? There’s more to his greed thanjust wanting nice things or to retrieve the status he had growing up. What hewants is that. The instant gratification of doing and having things just becauseyou can,  like he did as a child. That is what you feelwhen burning ants with a magnifying glass, and starting fires. That’s the rootof his pyromania. That he just can,and he likes watching things be engulfed in flames and thinking I did that.
In mycanon (and all canon too, really), it comes from a place of pride too. It’sabout his dignity and his grandiosity being undermined and him not! Having it! Becausebeing rich means you are respected and all of a sudden admirable and grandiosein everyone’s eyes. I mean, his hygene is enough of a proof he doesn’t necessarily want tobe rich for personal aesthetics, but just to be influential. Destroying the VFDis empowering and gratifying not just financially and in a personal vendettakind of way, but because he can getaway with it so easily.
49. What about voice? Pitch? Strength? Tempo and rhythm of speech? Pronunciation? Accent?
Oh. My. God.  Listen. Tim Curry and Neil did basically 90%similar choices when voicing Olaf and I wholeheartedly and integrally agreewith what they did. His voice is sort of wheezy and ugly and so OverPronounced, like he’s on stage all the time. Severe case of Thespian Overpronouncing. Bythe gods, he overpronounces everything. And it’s even worse when he’s mis andoverpronouncing it. He’s so flamboyant and dramatic with his voice it’shonestly incredible.
I’m trying to find a way to describe it but it isliterally as if he were on stage all of the time. All of it! He’s loud, he’sflamboyant, and he’s amusing. His overpronouncing gives it a very rhythmicaltempo and unique accent (literally what Neil did like I have nothing to addhere). And whenever he doesn’t knowsomething or just wants to change subject, he starts hushing it down to a mumble,as if he’d forgotten his lines and was just trying to move on with the script. LikeI said, all of this ties in well since I’ve spoken about how he is in a way developing a script in hismind so he’s just trying to keep it running in the right direction
