I was born in the wrong place.

I have always thought that Naples is a feeling. Italian writer Luciano De Crescenzo also said that being Neapolitan is a condition of the human soul. I find it in the restlessness of my days. When I think about tomorrow the day after tomorrow and, at times, I shuffle the cards on the table and I also pretend to be a 'Janara'. I am pleased to look into other people's homes and I need to spy on their future as well. If it's too bad, nobody believes it, not even me. Yet I repeat spells in some corners of the city. I surrender to beliefs and rituals, including pizza on Saturday night. I can keep my eyes on me.

GATTO MAMMONE

The Gatto Mammone (Mammon Cat) or Gattomammone is a magical creature of the popular tradition of Naples, with the characteristics of a huge terrifying looking cat. Its name derives from the encounter of the term cat (that in the Middle Ages was associated with the devil) with another word such as maimūn (which in Arabic means "monkey") or Mammon, a word with an uncertain etymology which in Aramaic is also an attribute of the devil.
