“I know you’re in the middle of vocal practice,” you said once Doyoung picked up your call after the second ring, “but can I come over?”

“You miss me that much?” Doyoung cooed, the sound waves from Doyoung’s laugh tickled your ear through the phone.

“Maybe...” you said, letting your voice trail off in slight embarrassment from the confession.

“You know what,” Doyoung said, “I have a better idea.” You could almost feel his sly smile through the phone.

“Yeah?” You hummed, noting the sound of a chair scraping and presuming Doyoung just got up.

“Yeah,” Doyoung chuckled. “Let’s go on a picnic!”

“Wha...I swear, what if we get caught?” You pouted. You were both idols for goodness sake. The fact that the two of you became an item was an open secret; there was no reason to upset the current precarious balance you’re both dealing with.

“Not if we went to that secret place by the Han River we used to go to during our trainee days.” His voice of reason was too convincing.

“Trust me, y/n. It’ll be fun. Don’t you miss taking this kind of time for yourself?”

You paused at his question. “Maybe...I guess we really both got so busy with work, didn’t we?”

“Exactly. I know how hard you worked,” Doyoung said, his tone getting gentler. “We should be take time for ourselves and invest time in those little things again. Those little moments that made it feel like everything would be okay.”

You let out an airy laugh, amazed at how poetic and mature Doyoung can get. “Alright, let’s do it.”

“Yay! See you soon,” he cheered.

You hung up after responding in affirmation.

The walk over to spot was just as you remembered. Despite your worries, you realized the walk really did help you calm down. The baby hairs framing your beautiful face started clinging slightly to your skin. You decided the simple fact that you’ll see Doyoung soon made it all worth it. His smile when he saw you confirmed that decision.

You took a running start and crashed into his open arms. As you both embraced tightly, your giggles were the only thing you could hear against the melodic background chorus of cicadas and the lapping of water against the grass.

With Doyoung’s arms wrapped securely around you, no matter what stresses came your way, everything just might be okay.

The Bias List

@avatarfantxsy @quyennie @despairandjo I decided to just list them. I need to make a separate post for bands tho. (that was a lie almost as fat as me) So in this bias list I will only list groups that I listen to. The last bias list I posted there were a lot of groups that I hadn’t listened to yet so this one will just be the groups I know of. I have a few to add, some I have taken off and I will have a section at the end for potential biases. Also some groups have 2-6 biases. For example I literally can’t choose with UP10TION. And sometimes I go back and forth and members in groups so often I’ve somehow tricked my brain into thinking I have more than one. If it’s confusing I promise the first member of each group on the list is definitely a locked bias. Hi, It’s me Nari! 🌻

Byun Nari, a she/her, 00’liner. I am your friendly neighborhood writer who writes unhealthily at dawn because inspiration can strike her in random times. If I am not writing, you will be able to find me either; furiously studying because uni is killing me, crying over doyoung and chenle *and now, jeongin*, to binge watching an unhealthy amount of crack videos.

In my free time, I usually like to go out and get a sense of reality check with human socialisation. Most of the time, I am locked up inside my room reading books usually written by Haruki Murakami and Stephen King.

Currently I’m living overseas for uni and trying hard to get my degree, but I don’t mind if any of you want to drop by and say hi on either my ask or private message me in tumblr. I am v friendly and love to make new friends here! So, feel free to drop by and say hi :D

If Nari Was A Teen Mum

Summary: Brief introduction to if Nari was a Teen Mum while being a Kpop Idol A/N: THIS IS NOT PART OF THE MAIN STORYPLOT OF NARI, THIS IS FROM THE 'What If...' SERIES.

[2014]

“You’re what?” Taeyong exclaimed.

“I said I’m pregnant!” Nari threw the pregnancy test so it landed in front of them as they sat across from each other in the empty practice room. He peered down, seeing the two lines.

Nari was pregnant…

“What…who…why?”

“I was getting stressed recently cuz of the evaluations, you know?” she mumbled quietly, tucking her knees to her chest, holding them firmly. “I met a guy at the convenience store, we started talking…”

“Nari, having sex with strangers shouldn’t be a way to relieve stress!” Taeyong almost shrieked, beginning to panic.

"Yeah, I kinda realise that now!" she exclaimed back, burying her face in her hands. Taeyong's hands flew to his hair, tugging at them roughly.

“Do you have his number?!”

“...yes…”

“And did you contact him?”

“Yeah…”

“And…?”

“He blocked me.”

“Oh, my goodness…” Taeyong sighed, rubbing his face with his hands. “We’re going to be debuting soon…what will we do?”

“We?” Nari lifted her head up from staring at the floor. “What do you mean, ‘we’?”

“What, you think I’m going to leave you alone with this problem?” he frowned.

“I mean…”

“Why did you tell me this in the first place, if you weren’t looking for help?”

“Because you’re my best friend…” she replied quietly.

“Right,” he nodded firmly, “And best friends help each other in anything. I’ll help you with this.”

“You don’t have to, it’s my fault -”

“True friends don’t leave the other alone in their struggles, true friends help each other out no matter what,” He grabbed her hands in his, rubbing the back of them as she sniffled. “We’ll be okay,” he promised, “We’ll figure something out with the others. Together.”

[Late 2014]

“He looks so adorable!” Johnny cooed as he gently cradled the tiny infant in his arms, Mark peered over his shoulder out of curiosity and awe. Nari smiled tiredly from her place on the hospital bed, leaning on Taeyong’s side who sat beside her.

“Good,” she grunted, “I popped him out of me, you have better said he looks good or else -”

“He’s adorable, don’t worry Noona!” Mark assured quickly. Nari smiled proudly.

“I see more of you in him than the douche of the father -”

“I know you guys don’t like the father, but don’t say bad words in front of my son,” Nari giggled, cutting the American off from his sentence. “Thanks for being at my side throughout the nine months, though, guys.”

“Of course, we will!” Doyoung chided from the other side of Johnny, lightly resting his chin on Johnny’s shoulder to gaze at the sleeping baby. “We’re family.”

“Despite the situation, we’re very happy about this new addition,” Jaehyun added in, holding his hands out eagerly to have his turn of holding the baby.

“I’m surprised SM has been supporting you in this,” Jisung commented, everyone agreeing instantly.

“They know you’re too talented to be kicked out,” Donghyuck bragged.

“Is this your way of trying to become the godfather?” Doyoung accused.

“No!” the younger member protested. And then after a short pause, “Is it working?”

“See? We’re going to be fine,” Taeyong murmured to the Teen Mum as they watched the others fight for the ‘godfather’ role. “We’re going to protect you and the baby for the rest of our lives.”

“Thank you, Taeyong, really,” she whispered, grabbing his hand to squeeze lightly. “I wouldn’t have been able to do this without you.”

“Anything for you,” He leaned down to press a kiss to her forehead, Nari leaning into it with her eyes closing instantly in bliss - the two oblivious of the feelings they had for each other.

[A Few Years Later]

Balancing motherhood and idol life was difficult at first, but as time went on, it became easier.

At first, Nari would bring her child wherever she went, and her mother - even other members’ mothers - would come and help look after the baby. So, when it came to debuting and performing, Nari’s child was in many safe hands.

And in a way, after having her baby, Nari was more motivated to do well for her and her baby’s future even though she already had enough money in her family to help them - but as a mother, Nari wanted to support her son by herself than depend on people.

The challenging part was telling basically the whole world that she began life as a single mother at the age of 19.

Many people judged her and criticised her for becoming a single young mother, some people even demanded she should be kicked out of SM for being ‘irresponsible’. Despite people’s demands, nothing happened, and she continued to debut in 2016 with NCT.

As a way to get people to warm up to her somewhat, Nari would sometimes feature her child in some content - only in content that she was comfortable with. For example, when filming behind the scenes for music videos, or recording their songs, Nari would always be seen bringing her child to the set with one of the many mother figures in her life to help look after the adorable infant. Also in the videos, you would see her along with other members of NCT coddling her child with love.

Basically, Nari’s child became the new addition to the SM family, because even their sunbaenims would occasionally mention her and her baby - sometimes even be featured in videos together. Everyone could see that they were ALL a family.

One thing that caught people’s attention, however, was how much of a parent duo Nari and Taeyong were especially. In most content, it would be just Nari and Taeyong looking after the baby. It even began some rumours: was Taeyong the father, since Nari never revealed who the father was? It didn’t help that there were some similar characteristics of Taeyong that could be seen in the baby somehow. But nonetheless, Nari never spoke about the father, and never confirmed nor denied the rumours around Taeyong.

Out of all rumours and scandals Taeyong received in his life, this was the only scandal he didn’t mind too much. He rather saw it as people complimenting him for being such a good father figure. He didn’t care about the people’s opinions when it came to Nari and the baby, he was glad to be in her and the baby’s life.

Taeyong helped so much to the point that if Nari wasn’t around, her baby would only be calm and comfortable if he was in Taeyong’s arms. If neither Nari or Taeyong were present, the baby wouldn’t be happy. Taeyong meant that much in their life.

It took a few years, but eventually, most of the fans have grown to love the new addition - it’s not like they had a choice anyway. It got to the point that the two members were nicknamed, ‘The Parents’.

They did have an important conversation though.

Because as years went by, they began to discuss the little one’s future - education, career, lifestyle, etc. But what was the most important conversation was what Nari’s child would call Taeyong - because let’s be honest, he has been there from the beginning, helping in everything before and after the pregnancy. Taeyong was an important person in their life, and the baby was beginning to see Taeyong as the father figure in his life.

“I mean, he’s already accidentally called me Dad a few times,” Taeyong shrugged. “I don’t mind being called it by him, to be honest.”

“Are you sure?” Nari bit her lip nervously. “I know you’ve done a lot for me and him, but if you’re uncomfortable about it -”

“I really don’t mind, Nari,” he assured her, reaching across the table to hold her hands. “I actually really like it that he’s seeing me as a father figure to him. I’m basically that to him, right?”

“Right,” Nari gave in. She squeezed his hands gently. “Taeyong, you have no idea how grateful to have you in our life. You’ve helped me so much…”

“Well, I had some practice with my nephew,” Taeyong shrugged casually. “Anything for you, Nari, really.” They were silent for a while. “The two of you mean a lot to me. Life isn’t complete without the two of you.” Although Taeyong didn’t confess directly, the two of them knew what he meant.

“Life isn’t complete without you, too.”

SuperM were absolutely smitten throughout their hello82 interview with the kids, as it was not only cute, but it made some of them think of a certain child they knew personally.

Taeyong smiled gently as he waved goodbye to Baby Kai, his thoughts wandering to two people that meant the most to him.

“Hyung, he was so adorable, right?” Mark interrupted his thoughts. “He reminded me of Noona’s kid!” Nari perked up at the mention of her son.

“Ah,” Baekhyun sighed, hearing their conversation. “That kid is adorable.”

“Expected from the adorable mother,” Taemin agreed. He quickly looked to the NCT leaders with his hands raised in surrender. “I don’t mean it in that way…”

“It’s okay, hyung!” Taeyong laughed, hiding his face in embarrassment while Nari facepalmed at their sunbaenim.

“Okay, the last person!” the staff member called out. The members looked at one another surprised.

“Oh, one more?” Ten repeated. “I thought we were -”

“APPA! EOMMA”

“SHOI-MING!” Taeyong almost squealed with Nari, hopping out of their seat to swoop the six-year-old in his arms, making the toddler giggle. The other members hopped out of their seats with screams of joy, greeting the toddler as well.

“Yo, Shoi-Ming!” Mark cheered, ruffling the boy’s long chin-length hair. “What are you doing here?”

“To do what the other kids did, of course!” Taeyong’s mother’s voice came from behind the camera, eventually revealing herself with a grin. “Surprise!” Taeyong’s mother grinned, walking up to the young parents to press a chaste kiss on their cheek in greeting.

“Good surprise,” Taeyong giggled, pressing kisses all over Shoi-Ming’s face, making him laugh out loud that had the others join in as well.

“Was the flight here okay?” Nari asked Taeyong’s mother worriedly, running a hand through her son’s hair.

“It was fine, don’t worry,” Taeyong’s mother assured the younger mother. “Shoi-Ming was well-behaved on the plane.”

“That’s good!” Nari grinned, kissing her son’s cheek loudly to make him laugh again.

“Let’s have him show the questions!” Taemi suggested, all of them getting back to their seats, Taeyong’s mother retreating back behind the camera. Instead of sitting on the designated chair, Shoi-Ming was sitting on Taeyong’s lap while holding onto the giant sketchbook that held the questions.

“Mingie!” Ten called out the boy’s nickname. “Can you show us the question?”

“Jjang!” the boy cheered, flipping the book to their question. They all cooed and cheered for him.

“What is it like looking after Shoi-Ming?” Mark read out. They all oohed.

“To be honest, we only play with him most of the time,” Kai answered after a few seconds of thinking. “I think maybe once or twice I’ve ever looked after him? And it wasn’t much, just holding him in my arms and making sure he didn’t run off or do something he was not supposed to. But he’s a good boy! He doesn’t do anything bad!”

“Although,” Baekhyun recalled with a small shiver. “There was that time when Shoi-Ming wouldn’t accept to be held by anyone except Nari and Taeyong,”

“Oh yeah!” Taemin exclaimed. “It was like when he was maybe a few months old? When he was one?”

“He’s used to being around only Nari and Taeyong so when he sees us, he didn’t like it - would have a big tantrum if either of them left the room,” Baekhyun remembered. “That’s when we really believed the nickname ‘The Parents’ for Taeyong and Nari. Like, me, Kai, and Taemin, we didn’t really see it until we started working with them.”

“Yeah, they’re officially the parents in SM,” Ten snickered.

“Ey…” was all Taeyong could say, burying his face in Shoi-Ming’s hair while Nari smiled shyly.

They moved to the next question.

“What is the meaning of Shoi-Ming’s name?”

“It means ‘life of sunshine’, or ‘light up your world’,” Nari answered proudly. “It was when I was a few months in on the pregnancy and wasn’t feeling well mentally because of criticism and the hardships. So I spoke with Taeyong and the others and realised that after nine months, everything will be okay because Shoi-Ming will light up our world, he will be the life of sunshine for me.”

“Wow…” everyone murmured.

“And it’s true,” Taeyong supported, ruffling the boy’s hair. “He really brings light to us all.” Nari beamed at his words, kissing her boyfriend's cheek quickly.

And then the final question.

“How would Taeyong feel about adopting Shoi-Ming officially?” Mark read out in English, freezing and choking on air as he processed the question. The others who didn’t understand looked at Mark confused. Ten’s mouth was gaped open, looking between the NCT leader and the mother of Shoi-Ming with wide eyes.

Nari smiled sheepishly, though nodded encouragingly.

“Uh, hyung,” Mark cleared his throat. “The question is, uh, how would you feel about adopting Shoi-Ming officially?”

“Eh?” Taeyong peered down at the sketchbook in the boy’s hand, slowly reading the question and spotting that the username was NCT 127′s account. He looked up quickly, connecting his eyes with Nari’s glassy ones. “Nari?”

“I thought about it a lot,” she mumbled, grabbing her son when he held his arms out for her. “And I spoke with Shoi-Ming and your family and mine, and well…” Nari accepted the folder Taeyong’s mother gave to her, [OFFICIAL ADOPTION PAPERS] stamped on the front. “What do you think?”

“Appa?” Shoi-Ming looked up at his father figure innocently.

Taeyong sniffed, trying to blink away his tears of joy as he leaned towards Nari and pulled her into a passionate kiss as his answer. Everyone around them started cheering and clapping, and Baekhyun yelled, “FINALLY, THE TITLE OF THEM BEING PARENTS IS OFFICIAL-OFFICIAL!”

“Are you sure?” Taeyong sniffled. “I mean, what if I’m not a good father -”

“I think you’ve been doing well the past six years, no?” Nari giggled at the sight of her excited and nervous boyfriend, pressing a quick kiss to his lips before focusing on their son. “How about it, Mingie? You want Taeyong to officially be your Dad?”

“APPA!” Shoi-Ming cheered, wrapping his arms around Taeyong’s neck to bring the older man into a cute hug.

“I will do my best to become the greatest father for him, I promise,” Taeyong vowed, looking deep into Nari’s eyes. “I won’t let you down, I promise,”

“I know,” Nari smiled, leaning her forehead against his. “I know…”

But as the years went by, fans realised that they were not the 'cold, intimidating' duo they were forced to appear as but were two souls who deserve all the love in the world

Both are very grateful to have each other in their lives and be able to grow together in their skills and relationship-wise (and since they’re lovers, it’s further proof and teasing from members that they are the leaders and parents of NCT)

Because Nari could speak Japanese, Yuta clung to her pre-debut, and that’s how they became close friends as well

The only one Yuta confesses all of his worries and fears and is able to express himself freely without the language barrier

The two bonded over the fact that they were foreigners in a foreign country trying to reach the same dream

His top loves are Nari, WinWin, and Mark - but if he had to pick, he would actually pick Nari simply because of how close the two are

They are considered the 'intimidating Japanese duo' because their resting bitch faces are really something

Although Nari is a few days older than Yuta, he acts like the older one, protecting her and making sure she’s okay

Very flirty with each other, and people have mistaken them as couples sometimes, but they’re simply platonic

They learn a lot from each other and are always there to support each other when needed

Despite Nari being older than him, he acts like the older brother sometimes when it concerns her health and safety - he is one of the few who doesn't get intimidated by her cold looks

Since she’s busy being a leader and looking after the other members, she forgets to look after herself, so Doyoung is there to swoop in and nag her if needed

Because of this, she can lean on him if needed without the pressure of trying to look strong in front of everyone

Because of how caring and nurturing the two are when it comes to NCT Dream especially, they are the 2nd set of Parents for them

Outside of being a nagging older brother, they’re quite good friends and love to tease one another lightly (or tease Taeyong hehe)

Very supportive of each other in solo works and encourage one another

Nari helps Doyoung when it comes to his cover songs since she has experience in producing songs, and she can easily arrange things for him

Their vocals together are also 👌👌👌

As most know, for a while Jaehyun was considered the maknae during early pre-debut times - so he was an adorable maknae towards Nari Noona - a very tall maknae

He was quite sensitive and emotional back then (remember the prank they did on him?) so he would go to Nari a lot for some support and love. And although Nari is distant and intimidating, she had a soft spot for the maknae at the time and watched over him

Even as the group grew and they became older, he still leans on her and depends on her - when they’re alone, he especially becomes like a younger brother/maknae to her, and fans absolutely love it seeing him let loose with her (and since he treasures her a lot if someone messes with her…oof, gotta prepare your funeral, guys)

Because of both of their visuals, they tend to be paired up a bit during comebacks and photoshoots, nicknamed Prince and Princess of NCT (though all of NCT are visuals as that one SM staff mentioned hehehe)

Thanks to Nari, Jaehyun’s position changed from being a rapper to a singer because they were hanging out once and Jaehyun started to sing - you bet she went to the staff and demanded that they give his vocals a chance

His baritone voice and her sultry alto voice together 👌👌👌 more reasons to call them Prince and Princess

Despite being younger than her, he treats her like a gentleman that some fans wish that they would date because they look so well together and the fact that he treats her like royalty

They like to be gym buddies as well and show off their abs, lol

Nari helped this adorable mess before he debuted - hyping him up, giving him tips and advice, etc.

Truly looking out for him like an older sister - Doyoung and her are usually the ones to be there for him when he’s feeling emotional. Always there to remind him sternly to not let the people's opinions affect him (or else she will be fighting a lot of people)

She is whipped for him, and he knows it and will use it to his advantage if needed

Always makes her laugh, one of her happy viruses that makes her relax and laugh - and he’s proud of it

Smiles so softly and proudly when she looks at him and when he speaks during interviews - cuz he grew up quite well, character development is 👌👌👌

Thanks to him, she eats a lot (because she sometimes forgets to eat) and gets to try out new foods with him since he loves food - they love going to chicken restaurants as well

You see them try out some places when they tour the US

Jungwoo brings out the soft side of Nari, and fans live for it when they are cute and uwu together

These two are Johnny’s dorks

Yes, she is the older sister to Mark Lee, but at the same time…they’re dorks

Nari is one of the first people he met at SM, so he has a close connection to her just like how she has a close connection to Johnny - so those three are linked together, in a way

They love chilling together, playing the guitar and singing - sometimes with writing as well, Mark helps her to express herself in words

Christian buddies as well, they pray together and talk about their religion together without fear of judgement - support each other in their beliefs

Because of their religious background, it’s another reason that they’re so close - cuz they’re spiritually close to each other as well…if that makes sense…like, no one truly knows them deeply unless you have that spiritual connection…I feel like I’m making no sense so I’m gonna move on, hehe

He looks up to her, and always asks for her opinion, “Noona, am I really leading the Dreamies well?” “You’re leading them just fine, Mark, trust me.”

These two have debuted more than once, they’re considered the Aces in SM/NCT as well

That’s the one word you would use to describe the way those soft piano notes interwoven with Doyoung’s melodic voice sounded drifting through the hallway as you approached his practice room.

You softly smiled, catching a glimpse of his back as you quietly walked past the open door in order not to disturb him. You recognized the song he was singing, Slow Dance by Aly & AJ, a song you discovered together while on an ice cream date last week.

With a coy smile creeping onto your face, you tiptoed up to him. As if he sensed someone, Doyoung stopped his singing, piano notes coming to a jarring stop. But before he could turn around, you lunged at him and wrapped your hands around his eyes.

“Guess you?” You asked, stifling a giggle by biting your lips.

You could see his tensed shoulders visibly relax, as you felt his cheeks press against the palms of your hands in a contagious smile. He pretended to be deep in thought.

“Hm...who could it be?” He asked, resting his hands against your wrists. “Are you the prettiest person to walk this Earth?”

Before you got the chance to respond to his cheesiness, Doyoung’s grip tightened and pulled downward, causing your hands to slip from covering his eyes and fall against his chest. His eyes twinkled as he craned his neck to meet your surprised expression.

“It is!” He crowed, shooting you a wink. You couldn’t resist grinning as you felt your face flush.

“Oh my god, Doyoung,” you mumbled, burrowing your face against his neck. You wrapped your arms closer around his chest, taking advantage of your positions to give him a back hug. “How are you still this flirty?”

He chuckled, nestling into the hug. “I have no idea what you are talking about.”

“Of course not,” you playfully scoffed. You leaned in and pressed a quick peck against his neck, causing him to redden a little. “I'm better at it though, don’t you think?”

Doyoung laughed, moving to face you. “Is this a challenge? You want to see some real flirting?”

Doyoung stood up, and pulled you to the center of the practice room. He motioned for you to stay there, before jogging over to the computer connected to the room’s sound system. After a few seconds of furious typing and clicks, the opening notes of Aly & AJ’s song resonated through the room.

Knowing where this is about to go, you gasped lightly, “Doyoung, I don’t know how to dance! At least not like you!”

Doyoung giggled as he jogged back towards you. “Shh, realx, I’ll guide you. No one really knows how to slow dance anyways.”

“Slow...slow dance?!”

Doyoung smiled at you reassuringly. “Look, just like this.”

Doyoung gently placed his right hand just above your hip, and grasped your right hand with his left. Gingerly, you placed your left hand on his shoulder, and met his approving nod with a smile.

“Not so bad, right?”

“Sure, y/n. Whatever makes you sleep better at night.”

You decided to save your reply, choosing to focus on following his footwork as he started guiding you to the gentle beat. You couldn’t help but listen to the lyrics. As if he could read your thoughts, Doyoung started singing along, highlighting his favorite phrases he had learned minute ago just for you.

“I don't need anything fancy,” he chorused, looking into your eyes. “I just need me and you slow dancing.”

You felt your cheeks warm up as you realized he was directing the song lyrics at you. He pulled his hand over your head, gesturing for you to spin. You did, the world turning in a lazy haze before you turned back into him with a giggle.

“Heaven's here it's right where you're standing,” he sang, shifting both of you so you could see yourselves in the mirror. He gestured at you in time with the song’s beat to emphasize the lyrics.

Doyoung continued to hum along with the song as you both moved in sync, you feeling like home in his arms.

“All I'm thinking about is you,” Doyoung sang, quirking an eyebrow at you. He pulled you close until you were both wrapped in an embrace, swaying back and forth. As the closing notes drifted into silence, he leaned down and whispered one last time, “All I'm thinking about is you.”

For once, you were slightly at a loss for words. So instead, you pulled him even closer. You felt his arms also tighten around you as you nestled against him, feeling so secure and warm in the tight embrace.

You signed contently, because maybe the songwriters were right. It truly felt like heaven right where you were both standing.
