higurashi has the best fucking religion-based plot twist because they spend like 3 arcs making you understand that the god curse is nonsense and that it's all because of a cult and that god isn't real just to introduce her and she's actually a shy little girls. like it's not like god isnt real and thats why the curse isnt real god is real but she wouldnt fucking do that.

do you know how many ingots there are if there's ten tons of gold? I've tried to do the math before, but get lost in trying to calculate kilograms, haha. According to the power of google, ten US tons (if that's the measurement used, not imperial or something else) is 20,000 pounds.

A normal gold bar weighs about 27.4 pounds (12.4 kg), so dividing 20,000 pounds by 27.4 pounds leaves about...729 gold bars. Which is a lot, way too much compared to what we see in the gold room i'm pretty sure. So I'm going wrong somewhere along the line.

Hm... I tried checking with metric tons, and you get 22046.2 pounds or so, which leads to about 804 ingots. It's such a large amount of ingots that the description for the ingots being taken from the submarine is "Those carefully piled bars were being slowly lifted out of the cargo hold, one group after another..." indicating that the winch that the soldiers had wasn't enough to take it all up in one go.

Also, Eva mentions each ingot being about 10 kilograms, which would make it about... 1002 ingots, using metric tons. Even worse than before, haha. She also says "Just how many ingots were piled up there? By doing a quick count here and there and judging by the height, there had to be a few hundred at least." So we know that the pile is pretty big. She calls it a "mountain of gold" a lot, just like Kinzo does.

I think Lion is really funny character bc can you imagine being a totally normal person and some random guy and a weird teenage girl just bursts into the funeral of a distant family friend and tells you that you’d be a witch who put her family through a murder suicide in another fragment and L + ratio + you’re adopted + you’re an incest baby. Then once you try to move on with your life having learnt to appreciate the people around you and how lucky you are you find out that you actually never get to be happy bc your aunt will kill you no matter what. But then said random guy (who is literally willing to lay down his life for you at this point. Me too Will, me too) is begging you to never give up on your existance before getting rescued by another weird teenager and now you’re at an halloween party where your witch self is basically married to your cousin. Unfortunately weird teenager number one has beef with your cousin and sabotages his game so now everything is being eaten by goats and you have to convince weird teenager number two to save everyone bc you now represent the hope of the Ushiromiyas (and also every version of yourself from other fragments). Then people start fighting even more and the world gets swallowed up and you’re never seen again but thankfully you’re now in heaven playing badminton with this guy you met yesterday. You just had the most confusing 24 hours of your life. It somehow worked out
