HOMEMADE HUGS.
➳ request: Can i make a request? I want Soma, Ryou, Akira, Alice, and Eishi (from the anime food wars) with a S/O who is neutral to fancy food or anything that is the opposite of homemade food because for them homemade food is just the best for them. It’s like they don’t the food to be like the best they just want the food to be made with love and thoughtfulness. apologize if this is too much for you to ask
➳ character/s: yukihira soma, kurokiba ryo, hayama akira, nakiri alice, tsukasa eishi
➳ warnings: swearing, hayama being homeless and orphaned as a kid, marriage fever (soma)
➳ notes: food wars is love, food wars is life, people should get over the weird foodgasms so they can actually watch art ._. (also soma is my ideal man, when can i find one-)
𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬 / 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭  / 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 / 𝐰𝐢𝐩 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭

── 𝐘𝐔𝐊𝐈𝐇𝐈𝐑𝐀 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐀.
talk your shit
he'll get you a megaphone to say it again
he agrees with you 100%
now you have to marry him btw :))
constantly trying out any new yukihira diner recipes on you
he may be at totsuki, but he still wants to take over the diner and make happiness affordable and memorable
you don't need fancy shit to bring people joy >:((
he also drags you to tons of festivals n markets to try the street food and festival food
if unhealthy, why taste good??
screaming if you ever make him something homemade
and he will scoff that shit down
he gets sick of fancy food too, so he's more than happy to have your homemade things in between classes
constantly leaning over your shoulder at the dorms to see what you're making
always licks the bowl if it's a cake or something
personal dish washer
will make you a yukihira diner dish in bento form every time you have to be away for something
comfort food and a movie at least twice a week
jokingly calls you 'wifey' regardless of gender because he's determined you'll get married for the homemade food thing
joichiro approves-
── 𝐊𝐔𝐑𝐎𝐊𝐈𝐁𝐀 𝐑𝐘𝐎.
a lowkey judgmental squint at you
-.-
he's unsure if he agrees with you
but he's never gonna say no to trying anything homemade that you offer him
will give you the hum of approval every time
maybe he's starting to see your point-
you're not always the one making him homemade food though
sometimes he comes to you to go on a cute little picnic date and has made you a special dish from denmark to share with you
will just listen to you talk while he eats and occasionally pitches in
don't challenge him too much though, because if you make a joke that your homemade food is better, you're in for it
can you have a shokugeki with 'peasant food'??
alice's words, not yours-
he's not very open with emotions but you can tell from the little smile he's suppressing that he feels loved when he eats homemade food
and it also lets him relax after classes and outside of trying to destroy soma
he gets to make cute and quaint dishes for you and not stress about the quality of the dish
n he gets to see that smile of yours :))
not that he'd ever admit that-
but like soma, he's hovering over you while you cook
probably snacking on the leftovers
── 𝐇𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐌𝐀 𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐑𝐀.
ask and you shall receive
he has probably never had a homemade meal before-
and homemade meals are now your love languages
also probably cried when you first made him something homemade
just a couple snivels and tears
that's also when he first fell in love but you won't catch him saying that to anyone else
makes you a lot of indian street food to connect more with his culture and introduce you if you're not already familiar
always makes you something if you feel upset or down
and it's always very urgent??
he's a very attentive lover
he hears you're upset and he's speed running a lil curry n naan for you and he's COMING OVER RIGHT NOW-
y'all always make lunch for each other because if you're not with each other, you feel the love you have for each other either way
and if you have lunch together, compliments (and kisses) to the chef
unlike the others, who snack on whatever is leftover while you cook for them
hayama feeds you your leftovers
gently feeding a lil carrot stick to you ;v;
he made his own spice blend that he thinks encapsulates you as a person and you definitely can't find that in stores-
people have asked him what the spice is called
n he just called it by your name
── 𝐍𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐑𝐈 𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐄.
she doesn't get it-
homemade food isn't as exquisite???
what are you on??
this is entirely because her parents are elitists and she never got HOMEmade food
got professional food only
and she doesn't know what homemade food actually tastes like
and that's kinda dumb tbh-
how does one survive without a lovingly made dish??
loving the cooking is different to making something BECAUSE you love them
so now it's your mission to convert her :))
it didn't take very long, you gave her breakfast in bed and she was sold
now she knows what love actually feels like and this is a pivotal moment
to be fair though
she can't really replicate homemade cooking for a while
because she never got taught and she can't get the strict training out of her system
how do you make molecular gastronomy homey??
it's fine, you'll just have to teach her
bonding time in the kitchen
she'll get the hang of it eventually, but for now she's fine with just having you cook loving meals for her
── 𝐓𝐒𝐔𝐊𝐀𝐒𝐀 𝐄𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐈.
somehow it's more nerve wracking making a homemade dish than a fancy one
because you like homemade things more ;v;
and he doesn't want to disappoint you
also probably doesn't know how to make a homemade meal-
are you sure you can't just treat him??
he's baby
he can't handle this shit :((
gladly takes homemade food from you though
but he wants cuddles while he eats your cooking
will also learn to make more homemade things and let go of the reins a little bit with PRESTIGE
probably also cried when he first tried your cooking
and this is lowkey what he wishes totsuki was
less stressful, more time with you, no more panic attacks-
the first time he ever gave you a homemade meal he was sweating bullets and shaking like crazy
but he got rewards, so now he does it all the time
kisses
"you could just ask for a kiss, you know."
"...'s so embarrassing..."
you now know a homemade meal means he wants kisses

hello ! I saw that ur looking for food wars request, so can i ask for erina, soma, megumi, alice and ibusaki with an s/o who cannot cook at all. like. They were asked to wash rice but they left it for too long and it became rice wine 💀💀
u dont have to do it of course lamaisjjshsj
Tumblr media
Erina, Soma, Megumi, Alice & Ibusaki’s s/o who can’t cook
a/n: I LOVE FOOD WARS YEYSYSSYEYEYD
Tumblr media
#Erina Nakiri
…shes not mad, just… disappointed ٩(๑`^´๑)۶
she loves you to death but, you need to learn how to cook at least instant ramen, she won’t always be there to be your personal chef (free too! ugh/lh)
would do a much more lenient version of her lectures from the central arc. of course, doesn’t expect you to be as good as the polar star (& friends) so she’d make simple recipes
would eventually begin to go from being in a classroom to actually being in the kitchen and would guide your hands so expect lots of cute handholding (⌒▽⌒)
ultimately, hooray you can cook now!! erina would make sure her s/o can cook if it’s the last thing she’ll do >:)
#Soma Yukihira
honestly wouldn’t be against it (^。^)
it’d give him more opportunities to cook for you! you’re his personal taste tester!!
he would use you as a muse for his horrible taste combos to use against megumi & erina ehehe…~
maybe, if you give him a combo like, for example, sugar and rice, he’d see some potential in it and use it during a food war :00
if you ever wanted to challenge him in a food war, he wouldn’t go easy on you~! even if you lose, he won’t gloat, he’d taste your dish and give you some constructed criticism, such a good bf!! (*^◯^*)
#Megumi Tadokoro
she loves you so much but she has a panic attack every time you go into the kitchen,,,
she loves you still so she cooks for you ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ!! soup, salad, whatever you want!!
assures you that it’s okay that you can’t cook, she loves taking care of you!!!
would be genuinely scared of you tho… if you accidentally made rice wine in only a few minutes or so Σ੧(❛□❛✿)?!?
she’d let you stay over at polar star, she thinks you and ryoko would get along! :00
#Alice Nakiri
Σ('◉⌓◉’)… even as a genius molecular gastronomer, she still cant figure out how you made rice wine in the 30 minutes she was gone,,,
she’d boss you around the kitchen, giving instructions but in a light-hearted way, yknow? she only wants you to at least be able to cook a steak!
if that doesn’t work, she’ll try visual learning. she’d show you step-by-step. would be a little annoyed if you asked her to repeat something but, you’re her darling, so it’s ok!
if THAT doesn’t work, she’d try explaining it as a lecture. explaining the proteins & carbohydrates and why different foods taste great together
would def tho let you have experiment in the kitchen and force ryo to clean it. or if ryo’s busy, she’d leave it for erina to discover on her own,,, no matter what kind of yelling erina gives her, she’d be happy that she got to spend time with you (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)
#Shun Ibusaki
congratulations on doing the impossible!! you made shun ibusaki shocked :00!! he just needed you to cook some rice for the shrimp he was going to prepare for dinner but… how come this rice tastes alcoholic..? did sasaki do something?!?
he wouldn’t care though tbh~
he would teach you basic things if you’d like but doesn’t expect you to learn how to cook! (wouldn’t be disappointed if you learned tho!!)
would be super happy to cook for you, wouldn’t show it though :;(∩´﹏`∩);: if you have great eye sight, you might see him with a tiny grin :000
if you’re willing to, he’d be delighted teach you some knick knacks about smoke cooking. practicing his skills AND spending time with his dear? it’s a 2 in 1 deal!!! ♪( ´θ`)ノ

sorina @ legislation help i dont remember any of my settings/context headcanons
long time no see!
It was three in the morning and the first and second seats of fine dining’s most prestigious education establishment had essentially achieved the impossible — they had burnt microwaveable rice on a portable stove. Either of them would have vehemently blamed the ensuing shitshow on excess coffee but they were both on withdrawal at that point. Nakiri Erina and Yukihira Souma were heading back up to the first seat’s office cradling their plastic bowls of burned instant rice and avoiding eye contact out of mutual embarrassment when they came across Kurokiba Ryo smashing the living daylights out of a cockroach with his size 11 oxfords in the conference room and Alice damn near dangling from the chandelier.
“Now where in the loving hell did that come from?” Erina paused in the doorway.
“No clue,” Ryo grunted as he examined his sole. “Dead now.”
Once Alice had both feet on the ground again, she asked, “What are you two up to?”
“Paperwork and event management,” Souma said through a yawn. “We’re out of coffee. This shit’s taking forever.”
“Time flies when you drink good coffee,” Ryo told him sagely.
Alice added, “You’ll be sipping an Illy Arabica straight from the French press in a train watching the German countryside flit by, and before you know it it’ll be time to get your shit together and not forget your phone and passport when you leave like I did in Berlin.”
“Is that why you were like five hours late to that convention? You held up the proceedings for literally three hours until they decided to just move on.”
Ryo put in unhelpfully, “We also had to stop by at Kadewe for an Hermes appointment.”
Waving him off, Alice insisted, “That is really not the point. More importantly, Erina, is that fucking burned instant rice!? God tongue where!?”
Erina rolled her eyes as Souma burst out laughing. “The portable stove was the only option,” he complained defensively.
After exchanging more banter, the first two seats left the Danes to their extermination business and sat on the floor in Erina’s office. It was always hers, maybe because it was bigger, maybe because there weren’t any of Souma’s atrocious concoctions waiting to be tested in the cabinets, mostly out of habit. She sat with her back to one of the legs of the desk and he sat against the wall, their knees touching in two places. They ate the burned instant rice with some stir fried kimchi and a playlist of songs neither of them really liked, grieving for the dying summer and the tofu salad Souma had made for them yesterday instead of attending one of the meetings with the board.
“This is better than Michelin,” Erina said agreeably through clenched teeth. They’d been eating in silence for a few minutes by then.
“Oh, is it really?”
“No, this is fucking disgusting. We should’ve stuck with the tofu salad.”
“Probably.”
That night both of them slept exactly where they were sitting; his back against the wall, hers against the desk, her knees to his. Somewhere along the way, somewhere between aglio e olio and their dreams about the future, Erina drifted asleep and Souma watched her breathing slow, wishing they could stay here like this in the tail end of the dying summer forever, sitting on her floor listening to music they didn’t want to hear and imagining they were drinking coffee on a train in a world neither of them belonged to.

Hello, may I request both a female and male ( to be matched with, if that's alright to ask for) matchup please and thank you for Food wars . LINK -  The first part is shortships (.) tumblr (.) (com) (without the parentheses). You can take as much time as you need to, I don’t mind being patient & waiting.
I match you with...
NAKIRI ALICE
Tumblr media
- Alice took interest in you upon seeing you around a lot in her classes
- she may act childish but she sees through people really well
- she keeps on bugging you to be her friend (and honestly she flirts a lot but you never notice it huhu) and soon you give in
- there are tons of moments when she'll scold you on blending in with people and trying to act the way others do
- she hates that you say you're fine even if you aren't and she hates that you think people hate you if you act as you are
- so she slowy helps you out your shell
- she's surprisingly good with handling occasional anxiety attacks
- you two share the perfectionist attitude and it takes Ryo to stop you both once you two decide to perfect a dish
- she's so happy when you start being really comfortable around her (it took a couple months) and would often send Ryo away to spend time with you
- Kurokiba Ryo kinda scares you but he's a good friend too
- both of you get bored easily so i can imagine weird trips and activities
- you two match a lot- both of you are stubborn too and while you have the temper, Alice can control hers so she's like your anger management counselor
- you normally are more distracted than her and she gets grumpy when you get distracted and not pay attention
- it was by the second year that you two got together and it was Ryo who got you two together
- holy shit you didn't expect Ryo to give you a pep talk but he did, he asked you to put your worries aside and what others would say and put your happiness first
- Alice was the one who confessed (she had been confessing since last year but you can't really pick up the signs)
- she got annoyed (jealous *cough) in one of your rants about how your cat did something and you weren't paying attention at the dish she's serving so she just slammed her lips to yours
- "See you're a good kisser! That means you'll be a good girlfriend! Bye, Ryo-kun!" *proceeds to drag you to a five star restaurant for a date*
- she teaches you how to speak in Danish and you just fall more uwu
- the amount of romance novels she had recommended to you tho
- it's surprising to you that she knows how to play videogames but when you saw her and Ryo playing Mario Kart once you understood she knew more than should be for a Nakiri
- your sarcastic side is something she treasures a lot like the burn from you like damnnn "did you hit your head when your mom held you? Oh wait, she probably didn't." fuck when you said this to Erina's dad (albeit under your breath) she just burst out laughing
- she takes great joy seeing you be clumsy because despite her childishness she's still a Nakiri who's probs perfect in everything so she's not a clutz
- she enjoys seeing you tongue tied especially if she flirts with you "Hey, that top doesn't look good on you. I think I'm the top that would look good on you." "Alice- I- aaugjnskvfjdnz."
- you get insecure about you and her's relationship because of Ryo but she assures you that she belongs to you only
- you also get insecure what would people think of your relationship
- once there was a student who brought up your sexuality and Alice snapped (she made out with you in front of everyone thaz hot)
- Ryo is insanely protective of you two especially on dates (once -actually a lot of times- when you two had a rare PDA moment, he glared at everyone who tried to even look the slightest bit disgusted)
- she pushes you to think of yourself first before others
- she's a really sweet girlfriend who brings out the best in you
- you two really go well together and you're a power couple
I match you with...
YUKIHIRA SOMA
Tumblr media
- this boy i swear asdfghjkl
- he doesn't really know how to read a mood so he'll just randomly pair up with you and talk up a storm
- he makes you panic because there are times where he's really messy and your OCD just kicks in
- but he's the sweetest boy
- you two get in trouble a lot for being distracted in class
- he's really persistent in being friends so after a few months, you give in
- like Alice, he urges you to be more open and to be more outgoing
- he doesn't mind that you're a human chameleon and he understands it takes time
- he's really patient with you and always thrive to make sure you're comfortable
- he laughs it off if you're temper goes up and calms you down
- you two didn't get together until end of second year
- you're both dense in romance anyways and it hurts to watch you both acting all sweet and shrug it off as a friendly thing
- "what type of friend cuddles on the same bed and sleeps spooning especially if you are opposite genders" is what yuki said and honestly she's right
- it started when Soma once saw you having a panic attack and now he occasionally slips in your bed to sleep with you and make sure you're safe in his arms
- he likes seeing you tongue tied and would often tease you about it
- he likes flirting with you too and see your red face (but poor boy is probably not that good with it)
- "you know, Peter Pan said if I think of all the pretty, beautiful things I'd be able to fly. But why is it that when I thought of you I fell for you instead?"
- *cue you turning red and tripping over your words but you managed to blurt out* "did you just call me ugly or told me you fell for me?"
- in this tho you are the one who confessed, it was the simple typical confession and he's so relieved (apparently he's crushing on you too)
- you help him create weird dishes especially when you're bored and you both laugh if it tastes really bad
- there are a lot of game nights
- he doesn't really like books so you're probs the one reading while he goes and just watch you read peacefully and scrunch up your nose in distate at parts where the characters annoy you (he finds this really cute)
- this little shite probably brings spiders to show you just to scare you
- he's your pillar to lean on and he knows perfectly when to intervene if you get frustrated trying to perfect something
- you are both sarcastic and quirky so there are a lot of childish banter
- he laughs at you if your clutz side kick in before helping you up
- there are really a lot of experimental dishes you two create
- while he's impulsive at times, you tend to carefully weigh out the options so it stresses you if he accepts/initiates a food war
- he breaks your insecurities and is a really supportive boyfriend
- he always says "you are the best girlfriend in any plane of existence."
- like Alice, he might be childish but he's not ignorant
- he instantly knows if something is wrong, he makes sure your mental health is stable, he helps you express yourself more, he actually broke your habit of saying "i'm fine" when you're not
- he can see if a guy tries to flirt with you (apparently he's not daft when it's about you) and he scares them off
- he's a really caring boyfriend and knows when to cheer you up
- your fears slowly disappear because of him
- because with him you know he won't abandon you
- your relationship is built on trust and honestly you two are a power couple
A/N: Hope you enjoy it! I'm so sorry it's late but thank you for your patience. I really have the match ups lines up in my notes but I tend to procrastinate in posting them.

Honestly, I have already started writing fanfiction about food wars.
It’s about Erina and the reader, but I don’t think they’ll be endgame.
Like the shortest summary is, You serve Erina a dish that is really good, but visually simple. It’s a pot pie, your mother’s recipe. She insults the dish, which kills your passion for cooking because you’re in love with her. Then Yukihara reignites your passion and maybe you fall in love with Megumi or Alice or Alice and Ryō , or Yukihara.
I don’t know who’s endgame yet. I haven’t finished the first season, so I might wait to see what kind of character development they’re going to give Erina. Since it kinda seems like she’s gonna mellow out eventually.

FEATURE: Meet the Stars of Princess Connect Re:Dive
Tumblr media
Going into Princess Connect! Re:Dive, I knew little about it other than the fact that it was an adaptation of a mobile game. That didn’t bode well; my experiences with video game adaptations have been less than positive.
Imagine my surprise, then, when it turned out to be hilarious. When a pair of ridiculous-looking wolves started dragging off our protagonist, I completely lost it. I found myself constantly laughing at the KONOSUBA-esque humor — it was only much later that I’d learn that Princess Connect and KONOSUBA shared the same director. It was also well-animated and delivered some impressive-looking action scenes and spell effects.
At the end of the day, however, this is a comedy anime through and through. And comedy anime live and die on the basis of their voice acting. Unsurprising, then, that Princess Connect features an all-star voice cast, with the actors from the mobile game reprising their roles in the anime. Let’s take a look at some of the talented voice actors that bring the characters of Princess Connect, both the game and the anime, to life.
Pecorine (M·A·O)
Tumblr media
Mao Ichimichi, also known as M·A·O, is probably better known for her non-anime roles — she started off her career in tokusatsu (live-action often with heavy special effects), most notably playing Luka Millfy in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger. She later ventured into anime voice acting. She voices the cheerful and energetic (and perpetually hungry) Pecorine in Princess Connect. She has also voiced Iris in Fire Force, Luluco in Space Patrol Luluco, Hondomachi in ID:Invaded, Vorona in Durarara, Bela in Bem, and Remi Ayasaki in the currently-airing Horimiya.
Kokkoro (Miku Ito)
Tumblr media
This isn’t the first time Miku Ito has played a character named Kokoro, having played the character of the same name in the BanG Dream! franchise. Her most well-known role is probably that of her own namesake: Miku from The Quintessential Quintuplets. Her other roles include Shimamura from Adachi and Shimamura, Ann Akagi from Action Heroine Cheer Fruits (in which she starred alongside fellow Princess Connect actor M·A·O), and Nana Mifune in Gleipnir.
Karyl (Rika Tachibana)
Tumblr media
Rika Tachibana has an extensive voice acting career in video games, featuring in such titles as Granblue Fantasy, Magia Record, The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, Street Fighter V, and of course Princess Connect, where she plays Karyl. Tachibana’s anime voice acting roles include Sae Kobayakawa from The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, Reiko from Shomin Sample, Naruse from The Island of Giant Insects — in which she starred alongside ... you guessed it ... M·A·O — and African Wild Dog from Kemono Friends.
Yuuki (Atsushi Abe)
Tumblr media
Our main protagonist Yuuki may not say much, but Atsushi Abe manages to make whatever little he says absolutely hilarious. Abe garnered widespread recognition for his role as Touma Kamijou in A Certain Magical Index and its spinoffs. His other roles include Moritaka Mashiro in Bakuman, Koichi Sakakibara in Another, Takashi in B Gata H Kei, Akiyuki in Xam’d: Lost Memories, Soya in Planet With, Inojin Yamanaka in Boruto, and Sougo in IDOLISH7.
Kaiser Insight (Shouta Aoi)
Tumblr media
It is not uncommon for female voice actors to voice male roles, especially younger characters. But male voice actors voicing female roles? Extremely rare. Shouta Aoi’s unique, “angelic” voice allows him to do so, with him voicing main Princess Connect villain Kaiser Insight. Aoi is better known as a singer, but he made his voice acting breakthrough as Ai Mikaze in Uta no Prince-sama. Since then, he has voiced Hideaki Tojo in Ace of the Diamond, Licht in The Royal Tutor, and will voice Subaru in the upcoming adaptation of Tokyo Babylon.
  Maho (Maaya Uchida)
Maho is considered by the other Princess Connect characters to be slightly delusional, so of course she is voiced by Maaya Uchida, best-known as the voice of out-of-touch characters like Rikka from Love, Chunibyo, and Other Delusions and Ranko Kanzaki from The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls. Her non-delusional roles include Yoshioka from Blue Spring Ride, Norman from The Promised Neverland, Yuki Yoshino from Food Wars, and Catarina Claes from My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom.
  Miyako (Sora Amamiya)
Tumblr media
I mentioned earlier how Princess Connect feels incredibly KONOSUBA-esque, both in its setting and its sense of humor. Makes perfect sense, then, for it to feature the voice of Sora Amamiya, known for voicing “useless” goddess Aqua from KONOSUBA. Amamiya’s other notable roles include Elizabeth from The Seven Deadly Sins, Touka from Tokyo Ghoul, Akame from Akame ga Kill, Kaori from One Week Friends, Isla from Plastic Memories, and Asseylum from Aldnoah.Zero.
  Hiyori (Nao Toyama)
Nao Toyama played her first major role as Kanon Nakagawa in The World God Only Knows, which kickstarted her music career. Many people also know her as Yui Yuigahama in My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, or Chitoge Kirisaki in Nisekoi. However, the role for which I personally recognise her the most is as the quiet Rin Shima in Laid-Back Camp. Other major roles include Karen in KINMOZA!, Ruka in Rent-a-Girlfriend, and Nozomi in Sound! Euphonium.
  Suzume (Aoi Yuki)
Tumblr media
Aoi Yuki has been earning plaudits this season for her energetic portrayal of the titular spider in So I’m a Spider, So What? Yuki has had many significant voice roles over the years, including Madoka from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Tanya in Saga of Tanya the Evil, Froppy in My Hero Academia, Tamaki in Fire Force, Diane in The Seven Deadly Sins, and Mami in Rent-a-Girlfriend.
Rei (Saori Hayami)
Saori Hayami is one of the most in-demand voice actors of recent times. She is known for portraying Yukino Yukinoshita in My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, and received considerable praise for her performance as Shoko Nishimiya in A Silent Voice. Her other notable roles include Shirayuki in Snow White with the Red Hair, Shinobu in Demon Slayer, Tsuruko in AnoHana: The Flower We Saw That Day, Yumeko Jabami in Kakegurui, and Himawari in Boruto.
  Jun (Ayako Kawasumi)
Tumblr media
Jun is a classic knight in metal armor. And who better to voice a knight than Ayako Kawasumi, best known as the voice of Saber in various installments of the Fate franchise. Kawasumi is also a talented pianist, which explains her role as Nodame in Nodame Cantabile. Some of her other major roles include Fuu in Samurai Champloo, Erina Pendleton in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Alice in Pandora Hearts, Melfina in Outlaw Star, Natsuki in Initial D, and Lafiel in Crest of the Stars.
Io (Shizuka Ito)
Shizuka Ito won a “Best Actress in Supporting Roles” award at the 10th Seiyuu Awards for her performances as Meiko Shiraki in Prison School and Sailor Venus in Sailor Moon Crystal. Some of her other major performances are as Himawari in xxxHolic, Ran in Texhnolyze, Kaori Kanzaki in A Certain Magical Index, Boota and Darry in Gurren Lagann, Yayoi in Psycho-Pass, Rei Hasekura in Maria Watches Over Us, and Hinagiku in Hayate the Combat Butler.
Yui (Risa Taneda)
Risa Taneda is undoubtedly best known for her roles as Erina Nakiri in Food Wars and Kaori Miyazono in Your Lie in April. But to me, she will always be Saki from Shin Sekai Yori, where she delivered an excellent performance spanning many ages, and performed the first ending song too. Taneda’s other significant roles include Rize in Is the Order a Rabbit?, Mirai in Beyond the Boundary, Yukina in Strike the Blood, Ai Mizuno in Zombie Land Saga, Xenovia in High School DxD, and Yukari in YUYUSHIKI.
Labyrista (Miyuki Sawashiro)
Tumblr media
Miyuki Sawashiro is one of the most prolific voice actors of all time. She first came to prominence as the voice of Puchiko in Di Gi Charat; she famously reprised the role in the English dub of Leave it to Piyoko, becoming the first anime voice actor to voice the same character in both sub and dub. A few of Sawashiro’s other major roles include Kurapika in Hunter x Hunter, Celty Sturluson in Durarara, Bishamon in Noragami, Fujiko Mine in recent installments of Lupin the Third, and Kanbaru in the Monogatari series.
Aoi (Kana Hanazawa)
Tumblr media
Kana Hanazawa needs no introduction, being one of the most popular voice actors of our times. She rose to popularity as Nadeko in Bakemonogatari and its sequels, performing the iconic opening song “Renai Circulation.” Some of her other anime roles include Akane from Psycho-Pass, Mayuri from Steins;Gate, Angel from Angel Beats, Kosaki Onodera from Nisekoi, Hinata Kawamoto from March Comes in Like a Lion, Kuroneko from Oreimo, and Ichika from The Quintessential Quintuplets.

regarding souma
title: regarding souma
erina and another slumber party
ooo
When Erina agreed to host the next girl’s night at the Nakiri mansion, she’d been expecting some ‘girl bonding’ as Yoshino-san and Sakaki-san would put it. Before she would have denied being excited, but now she admits her anticipation.
She did not sign up for this however.
“Soooooooo~ ladies, any love stories to share?”
Mito-san and Tadokoro-san blush, while Alice looks like she’s having fun. Hisako as expected looks scandalized, while Kinokuni-san looks disgusted. It would be such a shame if she stormed out now after finally getting her to agree to go, not without a lot of influence from Tadokoro-san and Alice. Not to mention that one just couldn’t say ‘no’ in the face of Yoshino-san’s enthusiasm.
Erina wishes she could be as serene as she pretends she is normally. How is it, that she can face businessmen, politicians, and the nouveau rich without batting an eye, but in a group of girls her age she’s helpless in fighting down the heat that creeps to her cheeks? She sincerely admires Sakaki-san’s composure.
“How about you Kinokuni-senpai? Aren’t you and Isshi-”
“No.”
With that empathic and figurative knife to the neck, Yoshino-san’s momentum is cut even before it begins, but then Kinokuni-san doesn’t know that what happens next...
“I-I just w-want to encourage my friends with their love lives. I m-mean all we do is cooking! Are we even teenage girls anymore?!”
...is the waterworks.
Yoshino-san blubbers and Kinokuni-san for all her harshness doesn’t seem to know what to do in the face of a crying kouhai.
“There, there, Yoshino Yuki-chan. Based on their reactions, doesn’t it seem like Nikumi-chan and Tadokoro-chan have someone they like?” Alice looks positively devious and Erina would like nothing more than to save Tadokoro-san and Mito-san, but then Alice says, “God knows I’ve tried my best with Erina. Can you believe she’s never even had a crush yet? Admiring Chef Saiba doesn’t count.”
Alice!!!
Erina is a lady. She will not dignify that with a response.
“Or is it,” Alice giggles with a twinkle in her eye, “Perhaps Erina likes people who are like Chef Saiba?”
She really can’t help it then. “Alice!”
As if a shark having scented blood, Yoshino-san pounces, “Yeah Erinacchi! Didn’t you tell us your ideal type before?”
Now everyone seems to be interested, even Kinokuni-san, though from what’s left of Erina’s frazzled nerves, she notices that Hisako and Tadokoro-san seem to be looking at her contemplatively.
“I have no idea how to tell when one likes someone,” she admits, clutching her pillow like a safety net.
“It’s not as complicated as cooking, or maybe it is. But I think when a face immediately comes to mind, that’s when you can tell, don’t you think?” Sakaki-san always seems so wise beyond her years.
Surprisingly, even Mito-san contributes. “At first he was just some nobody, a person to crush. But he teaches you things you don’t even realize yourself, and what starts as a passing interest suddenly transforms into something you can no longer control. Sure, he makes you angry, but he also makes you happy.” With each word Mito-san’s ears become redder and she sinks into her pillow as if hiding herself. Erina thinks she is adorable and that the person Mito-san likes is lucky indeed.
So why this feeling of dread?
As conversation restarts around her, she furiously tries to deny that there is an image forming in her mind - has been forming for quite some time now. She refuses to look at who it is.
ooo
When almost everyone is asleep, she finds that she has trouble doing so and goes to make some tea for herself. No need to wake up Hisako, since her best friend needs her rest.
On the way back, she notices Tadokoro-san on the balcony and gazing up at the moon. Together, they enjoy their tea in the cool, night air.
“Who could have imagined all that would happen, huh Nakiri-san?” Tadokoro-san laughs softly. “Yuki-chan was disappointed, but besides the shokugekis, I almost thought we were in a shoujo manga. You were suddenly proposed to by Suzuki-sensei, who turned out to be Saiba Asahi-san.”
Erina’s face heats again, but this time it has nothing to do with Saiba Asahi.
“And then,” It might just be Erina’s imagination, but Tadokoro-san sounds wistful, “Souma-kun made that dish for you. You were just like a princess, or even better!”
There it is, the reason Erina has trouble sleeping, the reason Hisako checks if she has a fever more often than not. She finds she doesn’t know what to say in reply.
“What did you think of the dish Nakiri-san?” Tadokoro-san smiles at her kindly, and Erina for some reason feels the need to turn away.
“...It was acceptable,” she mutters.
Tadokoro-san laughs. “Souma-kun isn’t here so there’s no need to worry. I promise I won’t tell.”
Erina swallows, then gets lost remembering the taste of it. “It was...” sweet, so very sweet that Erina had thought she might cry again after having tasted it. But then Tadokoro-san might think she means sweet like a pastry. Or she might know exactly what Erina was talking about. The possibility terrifies her. “Good,” she finishes lamely instead.
Tadokoro-san nods knowingly then goes back to gazing at the moon again, “Souma-kun never does what you expect, does he?”
Erina snorts. “That boy would sooner give up cooking than do anything following anyone’s expectations.”
“But you wouldn’t have him any other way?”
Erina stays silent because she can’t very well lie.
“And you’re a bit wrong Nakiri-san. I think I know Souma-kun pretty well.” For some reason, a complicated feeling grips hold of Erina’s heart hearing that, as Tadokoro-san continues, “And while you’re right that he doesn’t care about anyone’s expectations, I think, even if he doesn’t admit it, he’s always cared about what you think, even back then.”
Back then, as in before Erina deigned to step down from her throne. She never thought she could laugh and smile again like she has these past year since her family broke to pieces, and all because of all the people she’s met, and the one at the center of it all - him. It marvels her how a boy who frustrated her - still frustrates her - could have changed her world so thoroughly.
“I’ve seen it myself, how hard he works. He’s always wanted to go beyond your expectations Nakiri-san.”
Why?
Tadokoro-san must see the question written all over her face but unlike how obliging she usually is, the other girl decides not to answer, only smiles that knowing smile of hers.
“I want to tell you a secret Nakiri-san.”
Erina listens with bated breath.
“I like Souma-kun.”
Her heart stops.
“And I like Nakiri-san too.” All the while she keeps gazing at the moon. “Souma-kun is straightforward. He’ll go farther and farther in his cooking, and he’ll never waver and stray from his goal.” At that Tadokoro-san swings to look at her, hands clasped tightly. She’s looking straight at Erina, and Erina knows instinctively that she mustn’t look away.
“He’s looking straight ahead, Nakiri-san,” she whispers. Softly, like a mother’s embrace, she brings her arms around Erina.
“And I hope you do too,” she says to her kindly, and Erina with no words, but so many thoughts running around her head and feelings she cannot name in her heart, cannot help but seek comfort and embrace her dear friend back.

Denmark (Part 2)
Summary: In which Alice’s manifesting may come to past, and Erina gets to show her maternal side. (Part 1 is here)
Sometimes Erina forgot how much her lifestyle changed after she started living with Souma. The sight of the half-dozen butlers and maids preparing breakfast for her and Alice in the atrium struck her as fanciful at best, and wholly absurd at worst. It was almost impossible to believe that her upbringing had been peppered with endless household staff members whose names she’d never bothered to learn.
Alice handed a slightly fussy baby Sofia off to her mother before meeting Erina at the table.
“Is she upset?” Erina asked, feeling a disconcerting urge to go and comfort the small one; what the hell was that about?
“She was just missing all the attention, but she’ll be fine once she gets some from more from grandma and grandpa. Honestly, that child,” Alice said with a bemused smile, taking a seat at the table. “Her father hasn’t even been gone for an hour, and she’s already throwing a fit.”
Erina regarded her cousin with a deadpan look. “I wonder where she gets it from.”
Alice glanced at her from over the rim of her porcelain tea cup. “What are you implying, Erina?”
“Only the obvious, that you are in need of Kurokiba’s constant attention, and Sofia seems to take after you in that regard.”
Alice gave a casual shrug. “We deserve all of his attention. I’m sure being born was hard work for her, and labor isn’t a walk in the park either. It’s not any easier the second time around, in case you were wondering.”
“I didn’t imagine so.” Erina picked up a lemon pastry and nibbled on it. She pulled a face when the pleasant tartness turned acrid in her mouth.
“Something wrong?”
“No.” Erina sighed and put the pastry down. “I’ve just been...weirdly sensitive with food lately.”
Still, she was too hungry to ignore the spread entirely, and tried her luck — more successfully — with a blueberry muffin.
Alice looked at her for a long time, sipping her tea slowly and deliberately.
“What are you staring at?” Erina asked, after she got tired of being watched.
“I’m just trying to figure out if this is your normal god tongue shit, or if you’re pregnant again,” Alice explained as she picked up a scone.
“P-pregnant? Don’t be absurd, Alice!”
“Well, to be honest, I’ve been trying to manifest you another child for over a year now, so it’s about time—”
“You’ve been doing what?”
Alice merely rolled her eyes at her apparent outrage. “Erina, please. You’ve been looking at Sofia with mommy eyes since you got here. You should just be honest with yourself.”
“I have been,” Erina retorted. “And I honestly don’t have time to be pregnant again, let alone take care of a newborn. Besides, it’s impossible. I just got my birth control replaced in—”
Erina stopped speaking abruptly, remembering the doctor’s appointment she pushed back once to judge a culinary competition in Provence, and then again to attend a conference in Singapore.
She suddenly felt bile rising in her throat, and bolted off to the nearest restroom.
Erina spent the rest of the morning in bed, staring up at the ceiling and contemplating the unimaginable.
Some time after he had returned from an excursion to the fish market by the docks, Raiden came into her guest room, holding two bowls of seafood stew.
“Hey, ma! Do you want to be the third judge for our cooking competition? We’ve already got great-gramps and Aunt Alice, but pops and Uncle Ryo are still out in town.”
As much as Erina wanted to be supportive — and truly, she did — the robust fragrance of the stews made her gag a little. “Maybe tomorrow,” she said, and then forced herself to gaze at the bowls. “But you’re going to win, anyway.”
The match would be close, but she could tell just by looking that the flavors of his Spanish zarzuela stew would convey a more balanced umami than those in his cousin’s play on Bouillabaisse.
“How do you know that?” he asked, skeptical.
“Because you’re my son, and it’s not in our nature to lose.” She leaned down and kissed his forehead then. “Now go and find your third judge before the food gets cold. Reheated dishes won’t have the same impact, you know.”
“I know! Be back soon, ma!”
True to his word, her son returned two hours later to check on her — after she had slept through lunch and mid-afternoon tea — and offered to make her something.
“You are so sweet,” she said, running a hand over his hair. “But I’m alright for now.”
Raiden looked at her for a moment, features clouded with worry. “Ma, you haven’t been eating,” he pointed out. “Are you sick? Are you going to have to go away like Grandma Mana?”
As she heard the panic rising in his voice, Erina sighed. Where on earth had he heard that from?
“Love, come here.” Erina pulled her child into her arms, holding him close. “No, I’m not sick,” she said. “But even if I were, it would not matter. As long as I am alive on this earth, Yukihira Raiden, I will never leave you. I’ll never go where you can’t find me.”
“Do you promise?” he asked.
“I do,” she said. “And Nakiri Erina always keeps her promises.”
“So if you’re not sick, then what’s wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong.” Erina continued to run her fingers through her son’s golden hair, trying to convince herself that she was telling the truth. “I think you’re just a very lucky child,” she said. “You always get what you want.”

Random Headcanon’s on some of the Shokugeki Girl’s favorite flowers
I’d like to draw but I’m chained to the bed due to tummy-aches, so we’re doing this instead. So yeah, have some silly little headcanons on what I personally imagine to be the favorite flowers of the girls in Shokugeki
Erina Nakiri - Amaryllis and Roses
Megumi Tadokoro - Tulips mainly (especially yellow ones), but she also likes daisies and morning glories.
Alice Nakiri - Peonies. Roses are “overrated” in her mind. Also has a soft spot for snowdrops though.
Hisako Arato - Purple Hyacinths and Zinnias.
Ikumi Mito - Hibiscus.
Ryoko Sakaki - Orchids. ORCHIDS. O R C H I D S. (#FightMe) Also likes white jasmine or chrysanthemums though.
Yuki Yoshino - Sunflowers. And Freesia.
Rindou Kobayashi - Bird of Paradise, daffodils ands honeysuckles.
Nene Kinokuni - Camellias and carnations mainly. She think lotuses are really pretty as well. (Oh and like, I nearly forgot but ahdh cherry blossoms count right?)
Momo Akanegakubo - Also roses. But also gladioulus.
Miyoko Hojo - Snapdragons and Dahlias.
Nao Sadatsuka - Lilies and Orchids.

The Nakiri Family Picture
Did anyone else notice this? Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but...the relationships can definitely be seen in the picture, even as far back when everything used to be "fine".
Tumblr media
Soe (Alice's dad) is sitting on a chair which I can only describe as "throne-like", big, with intricate designs, it's bigger than the rest. Behind him is Sanzaemon himself, standing tall and proud but also serious, his status as the head Nakiri is apparent. Next to them are Alice and Leonora, both smiling, Alice on her mother's lap (looking curiously at the camera) speaking of the close bond.
Tumblr media
On the farther right, Erina and her parents when they were younger. Erina's mother is smiling happily, clasping her daughter's hand with both her hands, speaking of their close bond and her full support for her child. Her smile is warm, she looks happy, unlike we've seen her since her introduction.
Now let's look at Azami. While the picture overall is a happy family photo, Azami's particular shot saddens me a bit. He's not sitting, but standing and not to his full height, not as proud or serious-looking as Sanzaemon or Soe, but more crouched, a hand on his wife and child's shoulders. He looks far softer, more approachable and kind here.
There's also his chair. Since he's not sitting in it, we can see it's very small, maybe it's even a chair meant for Erina, but if we assume they had known beforehand Erina wouldn't sit in it (just like Alice sitting on her mother's lap), we can assume it was meant for Azami specifically. I think the contrast between his and Soe's chair is clear: Soe Nakiri is the head of Nakiri International and the one favored by Sanzaemon (as opposed to Azami). Also, Leonora and Azami married into the families, but clearly have very different standings within it.
Tumblr media
Azami is portrayed as the "black sheep" of the family, a man not to be trifled with, not generally favored by his family, whose own daughter is apprehensive of him to put it mildly. I even think the chair sort of represents Sanzaemon's feelings towards Azami as possible heir to the Nakiri family name: it's impossible, or at least the chances are very low. It was never an option to begin with. We also see how Senzaemon disapproves of Azami's actions in the manga and anime.
We haven't seen (as of yet, nor do I have the feeling we will this time around) the relationship between the two men, Azami and Soe. I assume it's equally strained like the one between Sanzaemon and Azami, or it's distant but not openly hostile (as in, they respect each-other's work etc and engage during familial gatherings politely but don't show any/much affection).
I can imagine they used to have a better relationship before everything went downhill, when they'd been at the start of both their relationships and the culinary business. However, I can't imagine Soe approved of the way Azami treated Erina, since he loves his own daughter very much (a doting dad and husband), so maybe he tried to avoid Azami wherever he could or simply used his many business travels to his advantage. I can also imagine Azami being slightly jealous of how Soe got the better treatment in the family, how he had Sanzeamon's trust and support, while all Azami had was his wife and child and he even partially lost that as we've seen in the story.
After losing his greatest idol and friend, Joichiro, to the ferocious storm, he thought he was alone. He turned into a bitter man he never wanted to be, after that he kept spiralling deeper into despair. Erina mentioned how him and Mana used to walk through the storm together (perhaps at that time everything had been alright).

What Shokugeki ship did you wish would be confirmed? I’m still salty about Shinomiya not being with Hinako. Personally I think that the Future chapter should’ve been some panels canon ships with their future families and captions of what happens to them later in their lives.
Thanks for the ask, anon. Well, honestly, I have to admit: I'm completely fine with the epilogue. I mean, it isn't exactly a masterpiece of work. But given all the rubbish since Central and RdC, it was decent enough. And I think the absence of any confirmed ships except for Soma and Erina was a wise choice. Even though I really like shipping a lot of characters - because most of them are amazing - confirmed ships wouldn't have made much sense in the epilogue. Because there was no real setup.  If we take the little information we have from the manga into consideration, what are plausible relationships? I'd say none. You've mentioned Shinomiya and Hinako, so let's talk about them. I really like them. I like their designs, their personalities, and their interactions. They are hilarious. I definitely ship them. But I don't think that's enough to make their relationship canon. Yes, their bickering is amazing. And as a writer, this could be a nice starting point to turn their platonic relationship into a romance story. But that's the point. To make this ship plausible and satisfy a majority of readers, not just shippers, it would need some setup. More setup than the manga managed to provide. Let's talk about another ship. One of my favorite ships, which is completely non-standard within the community, is Megumi and Hayama. I really like them, and I think they would be a lovely couple. But just imagine the readers' astonished reactions if this couple would have been shown by the manga without any explanation. ;) That's why I think the decision to not confirm any ship canon was ok. By the way, the fanbook implied a romantic relationship between Shinomiya and Hinako. Although, admittedly, it could also be Shinomiya and Mizuhara. It wasn't exactly stated who is in love with whom. Just that those three characters are confirmed to have love interests. (Next to Soma, Erina, and Hayama) No, if anything, I'm more bitter about the poor decisions the author made for some characters' adult lives. For example, Alice. In the end, she's just the spoiled heiress of Nakiri International. And Ryou is still her butler (And, inexplicably, an expert in marine biology ... Why? Just because he specializes in seafood?). The same goes for Hisako. She doesn't have any achievements. She's just Erina's secretary. All the character development had been discarded. For me, that's worse than the missing confirmed ships. :D

meddling; the good kind
i decided to clear up a few questions abt how Marui Zenji became Bookmaster of WGO in Genesis so ig this is also my commission payment/holiday gift for @polar-stars
in which a double shot of jager (with some help from the nakiri cousins) pretty much cements marui zenji’s future.
If nothing else, Yoshino Yuki knew turkey. Like, really well.
Much to Zenji’s chagrin, the only takeaway he’d gotten from the American history seminar he and the rest of the PSD gang had enrolled in was that the Pilgrims rode a Dutch fluyt to Virginia back in 1620, but they’d decided to turn Christmas into a Polar Star tradition nevertheless. Wait. Massachusetts? Thanksgiving?
After losing pitifully in a game of hangman to Yukihira Souma of all people — seriously, how was the English lang and composition seminar supposed to prepare him to guess “#tarkeyshet” — Zenji had retreated to the corner of the kitchen to sulk and drink Sakaki Sake while Yukihira paraded around fixing an imaginary pair of glasses and knocked back a shot of Smirnoff Watermelon from Kurokiba’s locker at Legislation.
“Those specs really were for nothing,” Yuki grinned as she pulled him to his feet, took away his solo cup, and handed him a masher. “Come on, Marui. You can vent at the potatoes.”
Zenji aggressively articulated his ire at said potatoes to the point where Yuki had to yank the bowl from him. “The hell, are you trying to make extract? Go kill another turkey if you’re feeling murderous.”
“I’m fine,” sighed the dark-haired chef, massaging the bridge of his nose. “It’s out of my system now. But the sake is not.”
Yuki leaned in and whispered in his ear, “Sacrifice one battle and you’ll win the war.”
“Now since when have you been all philosophical?”
Without missing a beat, Yuki countered, “Since you got all mopey. Now help me bring the turkey out.”
Just then, Nakiri Erina entered the kitchen after knocking on the doorframe. The first seat took one look at Yuki with her mouth basically on Zenji’s ear and dropped her vodka. “I apologize for the intrusion!”
She was already halfway out the door when Yuki and Zenji bellowed, “This isn’t what you think it is!”
Erina glanced doubtfully at the space (or lack thereof) between the Polar Star originals. “Um… in that case. Yoshino-san, do you mind if I talk to Marui-kun for a moment?”
“Not at all,” Yuki replied, and Erina was too distracted to notice the slightest inflection of irritation in the teal-eyed girl’s voice as she took the turkey out of the kitchen.
“How may I be of assistance, Nakiri-san?” Zenji asked, shifting his glasses and sitting on a kitchen stool.
“I was talking to my mother earlier today,” Erina said after picking up her cup, a diplomatic air automatically washing over the area. “She was wondering when you would be available for an interview sometime in the next few days over winter break.”
Zenji gave a prominently uncharacteristic “Eh?”
With a thin smile, Erina continued, “My mother would like to have you intern with her so she can judge if I was right when I told her you’re going to be the next WGO bookmaster. I remember you mentioned something about memorizing all of the WGO guides in first year?”
Zenji blinked once. Twice. “You’re kidding me.”
“No, I am not,” the heiress replied. “I never kid.”
He gestured at her. “That was a kid just now.”
“Besides the point, Marui-kun. My mother would like me to give you her phone number so you can text her your schedule availabilities directly.” Then she added, “Also, that’s more convenient for me because I don’t have to be a mediator.”
At this, Zenji’s eyes bugged out to the size of his fucking glasses. The WGO bookmaster — and Nakiri Erina’s mother to boot — wanted to give him her phone number?
Marui Zenji needed medical care hella fast.
“Um… I’m available whenever she is…?”
Erina shook her head. “I wouldn’t get used to it, but she’s catering to you.”
A sheen of sweat broke out on Zenji’s forehead. He pushed back his bangs and gave a long, pronounced exhale. “In five seconds, Nakiri-san, I will wake up and be so disappointed that I miss classes for the first time in my entire life.”
“You have a perfect attendance record, don’t you?”
“Yes, actually.”
“Perfect. That means you can afford to skip a day without getting detention. Unlike me and Yukihira.” Erina tapped her chin thoughtfully as Zenji made an indignant noise, then as if to deter any individuals that may have been eavesdropping, said in a low voice, “The one stipulation for giving you my mother’s phone number is that you ask Yoshino-san on a date.”
Zenji promptly fell off the stool. “Say what now?”
The eavesdropping individual made her debut just then. “Yes, well, as official relationship counselor of Nakiri Mansion and Polar Star, I am privy to some very public confidential information that you and Yoshino-san are both absolute nuts for each other. So I am prescribing you the following action: get the hell on with it already.”
The Nakiri cousins looked extremely pleased with themselves.
“I agree with Alice,” Erina said primly. “It’s pretty obvious how much she likes you. And since we’re both extremely well-versed in the subtleties of romance, I do believe we’re more than qualified to make this diagnosis.”
“Oh, and look, Marui-kun. Your ears are turning red. Actions speak louder than words. Your silence speaks volumes.”
Zenji squinted at Erina. “Nakiri-san, am I correct to assume that even if I already had the Bookmaster’s phone number, we’d still be having this conversation?” “Duh,” said Alice. “Now’s your chance, Marui-kun.”
“I think I’d rather lose to Yukihira in another game of hangman,” he said nervously.
At this, Alice gave a sympathetic smile. “You, my friend, do not have the emotional capacity of a brick, unlike Ryo and Yukihira, so you should have nothing to worry about. Come on.” Alice grabbed Zenji’s wrist and yanked him to his feet. “She’s in the dining hall. Have a shot if you need the liquid courage.” She passed him a cup of Jager.
The scholar ran a hand through his bangs in an attempt to organize his hair, despite the fact that he already had the neatest cut in like… a ten-mile radius.
“This is for the Bookmaster,” Zenji said, trying to convince himself more than the cousins.
“No, it’s really not,” Alice replied. “Now get to it. Clock is ticking.”
“Also, every second you spend stalling is technically another second you’re ghosting the Bookmaster.”
Zenji exploded into action. He threw back the Jager and sprinted out of the kitchen at a velocity nobody would’ve dared imagine possible for someone of his figure… or his alc tolerance.
“That worked better than I thought it would,” Erina mused.
“Yukihira’s rubbing off on you,” Alice intoned. “You sounded a lot like him just now.”
Rolling her eyes and fighting the blush, the first seat waved off the statement. “As if I would ever be associated with anything influenced by his plebeian mouth.”
“Like… your tongue?”
“Shut the fuck up.”
Alice grinned and tapped her cup against her cousin’s. “Damn right I will, Erina. No need to emphasize the truth.”
The others were all gathered in the dining hall by the time the Nakiri cousins emerged from the kitchen. Zenji was — as expected — sweating as he attempted to approach Yoshino Yuki.
Souma and his strangely acute senses noted exactly what was happening (read as Erina had already filled him in on the details of the plotcounseling session), and he vaguely motioned for Yuki to turn around.
“Yoshino-san,” Zenji began, and those that knew what was going on were all surprised at how steady his voice was despite the fact that he’d just drank what had to be two normal shots of herbal liquor at an ungodly speed. “If you’re available, I was just wondering if you’d like to go on a date with me?”
Yuki’s eyebrows disappeared behind her bangs. “Wait, what?” The rest of the dorm gave an excited whoop.
“… to the Polar Star garden…?”
“GODDAMMIT, MARUI,” they all squawked. Yuki managed an awkward grin and the will to live utterly disappeared from Marui Zenji.
Erina and Alice exchanged a glance. “Call the jet.”
“Gotcha. Ryo, can you fetch the Eclipse, please?”
“It’s on the roof already,” drawled Alice’s former aide. “Come on, Marui,” Ryo continued. “You’re gonna be like the rest of us by the time the sun comes up.”
“The hell does that mean?” sighed the dejected erudite as Ryo dragged him to the rooftop staircase in the back of the building.
“We’re destroying your perfect attendance record so you don’t have more honors cords than all the Elite Ten members combined at the graduation ceremony. Don’t even think about complaining. This is for our—I mean, your—good.”
The Nakiri cousins herded Yuki out of the dining hall after him, and the rest of the social club followed.
“In you go,” Ryo ordered once they were in front of the jet. He damn near picked up the chef who was probably half his weight and chucked Zenji through the hatch. Yuki was prodded on board after him, bleating timid complaints the entire time.
Ryo briefly entered the jet and they heard him instruct the pilot, “Take them to the Nakiri resort in Kobe. Don’t let them come back until tomorrow evening, am I clear?”
“Yessir,” replied the pilot, and then Ryo jumped out and the engines roared to life.
The inhabitants of Nakiri Mansion looked rather pleased with themselves as the jet departed Totsuki campus.
“You think that did it for their first date?” Ryo asked the heiresses.
“Duh,” Alice said with a flippant wave. “Erina and I are professionals. Now, we should start planning for their wedding. It’s Yoshino Yuki getting married, so teal dresses for the bridesmaids should do it.”
Erina nodded seriously. “I’ll start tasting cakes and contacting florists. The wedding’s going to be in Malibu, right?”
“You read my mind, Erina. Turns out we’re the same person after all.”
“Hell no.”
Ryo watched the cousins dive into all-out wedding prep mode over Christmas dinner and held back a smile—whether this was out of the mellowed amusement that arose from watching them bicker like five-year-olds or out of sympathetic pity for the involuntary fiances was up to debate, but it was a smile nevertheless, and that was all that mattered.
And the rest, of course, was history.
