Can you please do a resin comparison of Myou white skin tone with Doll Family-h and other bjd companies that have jointed hands?
Companies that have yellow-toned white skins are good matches:
Angel of Dream, Chicabonita, Doll Leaves, Doll Love, Dollzone/Doll Chateau (sister companies), Mystic Kids, Souldoll, Sugarble, Xagadoll/Asleep Eidolon; Magic Time and Fairyland too, but their MSD dolls are smaller so parts may not be compatible.
Jointed hand candidates (handidates?):
Asleep Eidolon/Xaga Doll white 2021 looks fairly close to 2019 Myou white, and they offer 1/3-sized jointed hands.
Doll Leaves white is described as a good match in a comment from 2022, but the included photo link was broken unfortunately. I’ll see if I can ask the commenter to repost it!
Doll Legend jointed hands might have worked but the company seems to be defunct. ;-;
Doll Chateau’s 1/4 jointed hands fit nicely on Myou Doll’s 1/4 ver. 3 girl body. (A bit small on ver. 1 but still functional.)

I finished my Ken Looks #5 repaint last weekend, and also my customizing process of my Myou Bettina boy as far as painting went. It was then that I realized I don’t own more pure-white synthetic fiber to make a wig for the latter. I had a lot of it left over, from when I made my Hujoo Wings wig a few years ago, but now it’s gone. Nowhere to be found. *sigh*
I purchased some more just today (hopefully it’s the same as my custom Eren Yeager’s wig fiber), so I should be able to continue working on him soon (hopefully). I’m super happy with my Ken (Looks), so much so that I really dislike the proportions of his own body now, when I didn’t mind them too bad when I got the 1st one that I’m keeping MISB. I might have to get a 1:6 action figure body for him later on. I already tried him on a few, and he looks super nice on some of them.
I’m also quite happy with my Bettina boy so far. I f-ed-up the first eyebrows I gave him, because I wanted to try something new (for me!). I ended up wiping them off, once they were already sealed, and now I’m not sure I like them well enough, but I know I like them better than the first ones I gave him; I wanted to try “surprised” brows, because default Myou Bettina (all of their dolls, if I recall correctly) has them. I thought the sculpt looked super cute with them. However, I am all for angry brows, the angrier the better. I don’t know why I thought I would like surprised brows on my own painted dolls, if I painted them myself. Lol! I love my Bettina nonetheless, I just suck at painting on 3D surfaces, more so on tinier ones. I am looking forward to working on him further, although making any clothes will be a struggle. He is going to be my fan-art version of Ken Kaneki -- with a lot of artistic liberties, because the sculpt and body-to-head-proportions are nowhere near Kaneki’s, but that’s who I want my Bettina boy to be. (:
Most of these were taken when either MSC was still drying, or when the diluted gloss was drying on Ken (Looks). I did add a bit of gloss on my Bettina’s eye lids, and a ton on his lips so that’s there too. However, on Ken (Looks) I wanted subtle sheen, but on these photos, it was still just freshly applied -- it’s nowhere near as shiny now IRL. Last photo is of both my Kens (Lol, I have to give Mattel Ken a new name!). For some reason Bettina is blurry as the dickens. *shrugs* I want to share some photos of the body blushing on my Kaneki, but I know this place doesn’t like nud3s, so I probably won’t post any on here -- at least not full-on-frontal ones.

New in dolly land (Stars are falling, Mia doll, TrueLove Doll)
Stars are falling (SAF) has a new 1/4 head, Hee, up for pre-order till 3rd August 2019! He’s a wild boy with slanty eyes and a protruding fang (EDIT: The fang is part of the sculpt!) Available in white, “normal” (both matched to Volks) or light tan (matched to Myou).
Mia has announced the pre-order dates for her new Soo 2nd and Soo Smile sculpts: 30th July to 2nd August 2019. Now, I did say that the ever-popular Soo, while adorable, wasn’t really my thing, but Soo Smile is another kettle of fish... I have a vision of an adorable little tike with scruffy hair and a tiny smile peeking out from behind Shiina’s legs...! I may well try to bring that vision to life. Now, where to find a cute little body for him... if anyone has recommendations for bodies 18-25cm tall to fit a 6-inch head, please let me know!
This isn’t really “new” news, but the Arvin 1/4 sculpt by TrueLove Doll recently caught my eye as being quite fetching. I think I’ve seen TrueLove’s Ivan sculpt before, but never really paid the company much attention. Arvin has only an 18cm head circumference so I bet he would make a great Chibi Unoa/Narsha hybrid, too! Does anyone know anything about this company? I couldn’t find any info on Den of Angels at all. The style of some of the sculpts reminds me a little of independent sculptor SSRS.
Finally, if you missed my last entry, LAKE's beautiful 1/3 scale head Nya is up for pre-order! It's a good time to support the sculptor if you like Nya, as she recently received news (according to her Weibo) that one of her sculpts is under threat of being recast. :( (seriously? a Chinese “artist sculpt” which is already so inexpensive...?)

It’s that time of year again. Time to revamp my wishlist. I did manage to cross off quite a few things last year, and also bring home a few surprises. Well, my first goal for 2018 is... less surprises. XD Going to try and stick to my guns! I say that often enough, so you’d think that phrase might as well be meaningless now.

Her name is Vivienne and she’s a Myou Doll Bohe and I ordered her on the brand new Myou Doll body. I’d actually been putting off ordering her for a while and I’m so glad I did now that they’ve put out the new body.
She’s my reward for making it through my first week at my new work...we’ll see if I manage to make it through any other weeks....
I got her in white skin since I haven’t decided yet whether or not I’m going to dye her.

Shit-starter starting shit
Let me just tap-dance all over that landmine.
This is my lovely MYOU Doll 45 cm BoHe head on the MYOU 1/4 girl 44 cm body, version 3. Both the head and the body were ordered in 2023, although at different times, from ACBJD. Both are white resin.
The head (newer) is a cool white with a blue undertone. The body is a yellowish white with a pretty obvious yellow undertone.
Same company. Same resin. Same color ordered. Same year. Different colors.
Now, I know for a fact that there are hobbyists out there who would be absolutely incensed by this slight difference in color. Said hobbyists would likely demand a refund or insist on returning the head or body. Barring that, they would list the offending part on Marketplace (MP), which is littered with listings of hybrids that didn't "match."
Such hobbyists are, how you say... Ruining the Hobby for the Rest of Us.
When I talk about resin matching being pointless, the hobbyists ruining things for the rest of us are exactly who I am referring to.
When I mock resin "matching," I'm referring to someone who wants an identical match to the body/head they currently have. Not "close enough." An exact match. I will die on the hill that this is not possible, and when it happens, it's a happy accident.
For example, on DOA, someone asked for a comparison between Resinsoul white and Souldoll white. I happily complied, as I had an old Mei, a newer Mi, and a new Souldoll kids body. The Souldoll body has the slightest pink undertone, which can be easily matched with a light dusting of pink pastel powder.
I was told that the resin did not "match," and therefore, the hobbyist was going to keep looking. That is a hobbyist who should not hybrid. That hobbyist should stick to ordering whole dolls.

Dolly ramble-news (SAF, Angelogue, Pettimal, LLT)
Stars Are Falling is running a 2nd pre-order for her 1/4 scale Viento head - only white and normal skin is available, plus 10 light tan (matched to Myou coffee resin) heads which will be released on Friday, 8pm China time. It makes a lovely boy or girl, check out the tan girl in this Weibo post! (The TB link is in the Weibo comments.)
This may be the first time I’m truly regretting not having an Instagram account - I missed out on the first head released by a new Korean doll company named Angelogue! Eunice is 1/4 scale and super cute with her little button nose! I'm getting strong Soom vibes (turns out the sculptor did Soom’s Breccia, Chalco, etc.). I like Soom Teenie Gem and Little Gem sculpts a lot, but haven't heard great things about their bodies, and they don't sell the heads separately... If Eunice gets re-released I will definitely have to consider her, even though I’m super stingy with adding new dolls to my MSD line-up~
Chinese sculptor Pettimal will do a limited run of her 2nd original 1/6 scale head named “papapa” tomorrow, 31st August 2018. Like her first head, “dididi”, it will be limited to 100 pieces. It will be available in “Volks white”, “Volks fair”, “Mia pink”, “Soom light tan” and wheat colours. I can’t think of any other similar-looking 1/6 scale heads.
Few big dolls (bigger than MSD) make my heart skip a beat (which is why I almost never post about the big dolls), but LLT’s Roderich, specifically on the Ballerino body, is completely exquisite. I follow the sculptor’s Weibo and, even when she posts photos of just feet, it’s pure eye candy. @_@ (No, my pre-teen crew do not need a gigantic, ridiculously flexible, leotard-wearing babysitter...)

My 2017 BJD Wishlist
I made some actual progress since my last list. So here we go again. My priority is character shells and I’ve listed them in the actual order I’d like to get them, but knowing me there are times when I will throw it all to the wind and do what I want as impulsively as desired. Obviously I do not plan to get all of these this year... otherwise I might drown in resin. Buuuut here is my updated list.
