Here's the Copter and Reel (my personal nickname for the boat)
also a little bit more of a solid example on what construct/mechanical shapes look like (they can get VERY out there when it comes to biology/physical appearance)

both of these two rely more on body language to get their moods across, since they tend to keep their mouths shut and sealed away for... obvious fucked up mouth reasons, and construct and mechanical shapes having the tendency to have certain expressions be their default resting face.
Reel constantly has thousand-yard stare bc of the way their eyes are- they are genuinely looking at things and focusing, you just can't tell. it can both be silly and really off-putting at the same time.
both are mobile, if awkward outside of their 'comfort element' air for 'Copter and water for Reel, but they can move around fairly comfortably, if slowly, on the ground.
Mechanical shapes are prone to huff out steam or smoke if they start getting heated, both emotionally and physically.

hi hi thank u for this ask tony i am sorry it took me. like two months to answer it 🏃i had beatstuck thoughts today & i will do my best to not type a ten thousand word essay (giggle)
basically it takes place in Paradise, which iirc is where. Jsab takes place in as well. But the four player shapes (skya iris cirk & pent) r living at a different point in time than the boss characters (basically all the bosses from jsab, not counting final boss or annihilate bc they're the same character)
this is the cool part: they're basically in a time loop. Paradise gets destroyed and turns into the ocean wasteland, then it gets reborn again, and then gets taken over again. Basically at some point one of the characters realizes that they're stuck like this and they use the game as a way to escape (not necessarily just to escape the time loop for all the characters though, I think having a theme of wanting to escape something by playing the game would be really cool :]])
basically. lots of time shenanigans that are gonna destroy my brain cells
also: one team has a space player but no time player and the other has a time player but no space player. so in order 2 create a new universe they devise a plan to merge their game sessions somehow hehehe
hrmm how do I word this. the player shape's version of "Paradise" is this, vast ocean wasteland. there's some buts of land scattered about that have like, I guess pocket dimensions (basically the levels in jsab. I think this would sorta be like the area you first start out in jsab itself, like before u get to the main area of the game) but for the most part it is just water.
The bosses' version of "Paradise" is much more,,, lively than the other Paradise. This is just the Paradise that u see in game basically <3 but specifically the Island after it's been taken over by the antagonist. basically Paradise is under a tyrannical rule by the boss from New Game so life there is very far from paradise , actually.
also, something 2 note is that Boss/Bosse, I can't decide on the name yet, (the character from Long Live the New Fresh) & Neuga (name I came up w for the character from New Game that. I will not elaborate on [yet]) are separate characters here. Neuga acts more as like a guardian to Boss (but like. not a very good one)
umum anywho things to note is that the main few areas are the cave, factory, volcano, & the mainland (had a very important tree there that basically creates new objects that got wrecked and replaced w a sick tower. by Neuga of course <3
im gonna be real with u 60% of the worldbuilding is loosely based on what the actual game gives us and then 40% is just. stuff i thought was cool.
OK SO I FAILED AT NOT WRITING AN ESSAY ,. I wanted to ramble abt some of the characters too but ‼️I don't want to write a novel (and also I'm a bit tired) so i think i will definitely ramble abt them at a later date

Depends, in what sense do you mean "big"? Character-wise, I suppose I have a decent few, though I could work on it
World-wise I plan it to be quite large, and I mean, the name Throughout the Galaxies probably gives away the basis of it all. But I need to really work on my worldbuilding skills for that, lmao

I'm sending an ask that you don't need to draw. Because welcome back! How was your hiatus?
Honestly, it was kind of just... sometimes you just get swept up with all the things in life, you know? My upload schedule wasn't exactly I AM SPEED, but with everything I just didn't have time to focus on creative projects which ground it to a halt. Which sucks because I do love all the chicanery I put into this blog.
On the other hand, it did allow me to refine the story a little bit, consider the new lore that Bezerk dropped on us - yes that will be in here, even do some really stupid worldbuilding. I have made many a questionable decision and I regret NONE OF IT.
Overall, I'm just glad to be back here and start working. A lot may have changed in two years, but one thing has not: the amount of madness isn't going to be going down much anytime soon. I swear it on all my S Rank runs in JSaB, which is none, because I don't have the game, and if I did I still wouldn't have any.
Anyway, thank you kind anon, and I hope you have a great day as well! And take care of yourself too, whoever you are.

Eight Days Of Wonder
praying is a somewhat big thing in paradise, because evidence of divine intervention is obvious and people want it
once a year, during the supposed planting of the sacred treeangle, shapes break off a teensy tiny shard of themselves, write a wish on it, and dispose of it near the treeangle, whether jt be by burying, grindign into powder, shoving it into the bark, or throwing it into the tree
this is a tradition that reminds everyone that no matter how different someone may be, you all are shapes created from the treeangle and are all part of a community.
the remaining 7 days have a day of remembrance, day of feasting, day of celebration, day of cleansing, day of sacrifice, day of rejuvenation, day of confession, and finally, day of lights
ps shape shards enter a state of rigor mortis very quickly after it's removed so it's not that bad
day of remembrance is a way to preserve the memory of shattered shapes. it usually has those who were close or "family" of the shape do things such as burn incense and leave offerings of food, bp and trinkets before a photo of the gone shape
day of feasting is to remind that there is joy to be found in simple things. it usually consists of a whole region getting together and having a feast. styles range from picnic to bbq to buffet to dining hall and fancy full-course french dinner, but the idea is still the same
day of celebration has similar intent. it's meant to elicit a sense of wonder and glee in people, and have them relax for a day. methods involve parades, organized gatherings, rituals, music, shows, and much more
day of cleansing is one of the last days of a year in this world, and this day consists of symbolic and practical practices
this day is about going to the next year with minimal regrets, and people "cleanse" themselves and their community of those regrets or just overall rancid vibes
methods include writnf said regrets onto paper and destroying it, cleaning a room and spinning counterclockwise from east to west, and repainting
day of sacrifice is Not About Sacrificing Shapes.
it's a day where you sacrifice something, whether it be tangible or not, for your goals
and it does Not Involve Murder
day of rejuvenation can be seen as the day of cleansing's opposite
instead of purging excess negativity, this day is about letting optimism into your life. the volcano and river region celebrate this day especially, allowing their denizens to bathe in the lava/water and reflect on how they could begin to see life in a positive yet realistic way
day of confession (might not be final) is about confessing to things you've done, whether they be good or bad. in the olden days it was celebrated by setting up a giant bulletin board and having people sneak out at night to post on it, but modern technology had made it a lot moe convenient.
this day doubles as a way to give heroes the honor they deserve, and to help change the ways of those who are less virtuous
the final day is the day of lights. this is also the new years of paradise
the day of lights is the treeangle's "farewell" gift to its creations that although it may not be capable of being with them physically, it will set aside a day for them to celebrate what makes them unique and amazing. this day involves a whole day of setup that amounts to a huge night of revelry. a lot of pretty natural phenomena (aurora borealis, bioluminescent waves, etc) happen during that day as well. and this is one of the few days the strict law dictating appropriate usage of shape magic is relaxed.

What is your schedule that you can open the ask blog? Just asking if that’s okay.

this blog has been inactive for two years. im honestly surprised it still gets followers– im not sure if the theme shows the date? i occasionally post fanart that gets submitted to me, but i usually just hold onto it in my inbox because i dont want to get people’s hopes up by posting.
i havent been a part of the just shapes & beats fandom for a pretty long time now– i do sometimes draw stuff for it, but its about “once a year”. i just dont really feel like i can continue the askblog from where it left off, and id have to restart this entirely at this point because its been so long and my ideas for the characters and worldbuilding have changed
if you want to follow other jsab askblogs, i.. cant exactly recommend any because i have no idea which ones are still around? again, it’s been two years since i was last active in the fandom. people are welcome to promo themselves on this post!
honestly this announcement / confirmation is Very overdue, but i kept putting it off because i actually did get some hateful messages over my inactivity / posting fanart instead of doing anything (which is why i just hold onto it now, w/ exceptions). im really, really sorry to disappoint everyone.

[Mun] Thank you for your input! It seems that people would like me to try and keep up what I’m doing right now... But I still believe that I’m gonna need a little bit of a rehaul on the character designs (mostly in artstyle, but it’s not gonna be a big change).
I also wanna keep going with what the story is supposed to be doing, so I hope to come back with less hangout with the Gods and more let’s get back to what’s really happening. The Gods were supposed to be used as a way for people to ask for more worldbuilding or backstory elements, but hangout was fun too! Hangouts can only last so long though with what I’m attempting to cobble together.
I’ve been working on personal pieces, if that’s for some reason what you’ve been wondering about. My brain has been on and off for JSAB, and I’m hoping to flip it back on if possible.
Just get to the point already? I’m gonna be on some sort of on-off hiatus haha, during Shapes of May too, huh. I’ll be trying to redraw old art refs, put together an entrance back into the story, while juggling school and personal projects. But, if I’m lucky, I’ll post some small pics here or there or maybe longer pages of pics+lore of the world, if that’s something that would interest someone.
Thanks for putting up with me! I’ll be back hopefully!

New fresh design ft. some worldbuilding on corruption in general (corruption itself works more like a disease than anything else. also with that in mind, white gray and black can't be corruption colors. white is all colors, (too overwhelming and causes corruption to just die instantly if it dosen't treat it as the color it is) black is no colors, and gray is essentially both existing and not existing at the same time so corruption essentially can't comprehend it. it's like trying to explain 4d chess to a worm)

more shape headcanons that will likely involve me tweaking my designs (again)
shapes have multiple colors, a primary color and a secondary color-
colors are important, because ones of a certain color will be either immune or resistant to corruption i.e pink is resistant/immune to pink, blue is resistant/immune to blue, etc.
whether one is resistant or immune depends on the individual and it ranges quite a bit. for example, cube is resistant but can still be corrupted, but shapes like the helicopter and the boat are unaffected by it, it can still hurt them, but they can't be corrupted-
and if we want to go further, there could be shapes who retain their mind somewhat after corruption after their systems fight it off like it's a disease, but can still be corrupted. in the meantime though, they will still act like one that had been fully corrupted. (theoretically lycanthropy could be one of these shapes)
so why 3 colors? because more than 3 is kinda overkill and gets complicated, FAST when it comes to designing, and 3 is still a good color to work with when it comes to coloring/designing. (not excluding shades of colors are still counted as that color i.e dark red and red are both reds)
shapes can be the same color on both colors, i.e magenta/magenta/magenta or blue/blue/blue. but it's fairly rare for that to happen.
generally speaking, the colors are ranged from most to least, so a shape who is primarily say, blue with some black markings and pink highlights, the colors will be ordered as the following: blue/black/pink
i should prolly make a reference for what certain colors affect- for ease of worldbuilding later-

little bit of shape worldbuilding ramblings
shapes hatch as what could best be described as joeys (the marsupial kind) and are for the most part are little helpless jellybeans upon hatching. these jellybeans are often referred to as 'pouchlets' (adult shapes do have pouches built in, most of the time they aren't used for their intended purposes as baby/egg-holding things though)
some breeds of shapes, (most predominantly the bug and reptilian breeds) have pochlets that reach self-sufficiency quite quickly in comparison, no longer being reliant for their parents for warmth and food within weeks of hatching. (some can eat solid food from the start as well)
on a side note: shapes who have v self-sufficent pouchlets often are confused about ones that are more high maintenance.
on ANOTHER side note: Most shapes don't have teeth upon hatching either so like... they gotta feed somehow, and the options for that are: 1. some form of 'crop milk' 2. they just secrete out extra energy like platypuses with milk 3. regular ass mammal nursing (excuse for boobs tho) and personally idrk which one works the best.
