I have come to the conclusion that I will watch anything with Bruce Campbell in it. From a silly Hallmark Christmas Movies to a stupid (but still funny) Black Friday movie.
Just stare at him all day

My Southern Family Christmas
Back to back features on finding family, between Long Lost Christmas and this one, it was interesting placing method I must say. But I enjoyed this one. I thought it was interesting being able to see Christmas from a warmer climate and also learning about how Southern Louisiana does the holidays. It was cool learning about the meat pies and Pere Noel. Another thing I really appreciated about this story is that Campbell’s step mother knew who she was and was apart of the whole thing rather than nobody knowing. I also liked that Jackson found out about it and was apart of Jennifer helping Campbell work up the courage to tell Everett. I thought the bonding of all 3 sisters was really cute. I adored Campbell and Jackson and I get why we didn’t get them at the fore front but they were really sweet. Actor wise, it was so good seeing Jaicy back for her second Hallmark movie, both of which were this year. I’m really loving her as a new female lead and I hope she continues with the network. I’m a sucker for Ryan Rottman so I’m always excited to see him and I loved seeing him play this more dorky type guy. These two together were super cute. I hope the opportunity for them to team up comes because I’d love to see it. Obviously Bruce Campbell and Moira Kelly were fantastic in this as well.
Rating: 3 - I really enjoyed this one about this movie and I can easily see it being added to my yearly favorites.
What did you think of this movie? What did you like/dislike about it? Feel free to let me know by replying to this post or sending me a message through the inbox!

Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas continues with My Southern Family Christmas, where Hart of Dixie meets My Christmas Family Tree. While the film isn’t as great as the TV series or Hallmark’s previous film, it still maintains plenty of heart while telling a sweet story centered around family. The main problem with this arc is that the heroine doesn’t reveal the truth about her visit until the end, and even though people are aware of it, it’s hard not to wonder how great the story could’ve been if the secret was out in the open the entire time.
If there are two reasons to watch this film, one is Moira Kelly, and the other is Bruce Campbell. But if you want more, the rest of the cast, starting with Jaicy Elliot as our heroine, Campbell Wallace, and Ryan Rottman as romance hero, Jackson Shepherd. My Southern Family Christmas follows Campbell (Elliot) to Sorrento, Louisiana, where her biological father lives. Sorrento doesn’t have a Santa Claus; instead, they celebrate with the French version, Père Noël. As a journalist, she’s there to cover the story of Everett’s (Campbell) first year as Père Noël, but his wife Jennifer (Kelly) is the one who invited her, stating that she knows her husband has profound regrets about leaving another child behind.

idk if the anecdotes in my life are indicative of a wider trend, but older people (60+) seem much more interested in smalltalk than younger people (20s-30s). perhaps this is just because older people are lonelier and seek more connections, perhaps this is because young people are busy with more shit to do + more tired from work with less energy to talk. perhaps the scaremongering commentators are somewhat right and technology and pandemic isolation have stunted young people's social skills or whatever.
i like talking to old people so this isn't really a problem for me, but i do wish ppl in their 20s would chat with me about the weather in the elevator sometimes!
