you will never convince me in a million years that taeju told jiwoo to get out of dongcheon after the incident with gangjae because he cared about her. or that he had some sympathy for her. he cared about mujin. that’s the difference.
he had no stake in her, not the way mujin did. mujin loved her so fiercely because of two things: 1) because she was the thing that made donghoon happy, and 2) because she was the last living vestige of donghoon in the world; she was the last tangible connection to him. but taeju, what use would he have for her? in fact, i think taeju’s bitter words about donghoon came from a place of pain at betrayal, not hatred or disgust. he didn’t hate donghoon for being a cop—he was angry with donghoon for fitting himself into their lives and then not being the person they thought he was. he was hurt because a person he loved and cared about hurt him (and mujin, so by extension, dongcheon as a collective).
mujin was always taeju’s priority. so after the removal of donghoon, to have mujin still harbor this connection to his daughter, a connection that muddied the waters of dongcheon’s cohesiveness, had to have been terrifying. infuriating. he could see mujin’s attachment to her the way he could see his attachment to donghoon and he wanted to punish her for the sins of her father because, to him, she would do nothing but bring them the same kind of pain. perhaps worse because she was the last living piece of donghoon; she was the vehicle for donghoon’s redemption but she always harbored the power to crush it. and so the best way to make sure that didn’t happen was to turn her our roughly.
and, clearly, it didn’t work. but the fact was, taeju didn’t try to get her out out of some sudden clarity of consciousness. he didn’t do it because he cared about her. he did it because he cared about mujin, who cared about donghoon, and cared about donghoon too much, and saw how much that care destroyed him. he couldn’t let that happen again.

just saw your post about motorcycle bf jason and i'm...i'm fine. i'm normal. i'm not thinking about riding w him and just holding onto him with your whole body and him tapping your thigh to remind you to lean with him on sharp turns. how he never lets you on the bike without full gear bc he's terrified of you getting hurt bc of him. (is it custom gear in his specific shade of red? maybe!)
not thinking about him teaching you to ride, standing next to you with his arm around you while you sit on his gigantic ten-million pound motorcycle (that he pushes around like it weighs nothing), leaning over you to point out certain parts of the bike and explaining everything and answering all your questions patiently and being really sweet in general but also laughing at you bc you can't find neutral.
not thinking about waiting for him to get back from a late night ride and just swinging your leg over his lap to straddle him before he even gets off the bike...the gloves and helmet still on...idk...not thinking...no thoughts...

He absolutely has entirely custom gear in his exact shade of red! He will not let you NEAR the bike if you haven't put on your helmet yet. He's so excited that you love backpacking. His favorite thing is when you lean forward and hold onto him. You love the adrenaline that courses through your veins, knowing that if you let go, you die. It stresses him the fuck out, but the look on your face makes it worth it. He reaches over and taps your thigh when a big turn comes into sight. You follow him as he leans and he can't help but smile as you do it without even thinking.
He wants to make sure you know how to ride if you would ever need to and also bc you won't stop asking. He pushes the bike closer to you like it weighs five pounds and not a thousand. You go to push it slightly backward so you have more room to start, but it went budge. He thinks it's fucking hilarious. He starts pointing out the different parts of the bike, he shows you the basics of the gear shift, and then he helps you on. He follows behind on one of the motorcycles he's been "borrowing" from Bruce for months. When you roll back in to the parking garage he falls to the floor laughing as you yell out a string of curse words trying to find neutral. You thought your biggest threat would be the bike stalling and not trying to switch the gear to neutral. He hops on behind you and does it for you. Hot.
A few days later he goes for a ride and he's been out for a while and you can't stand waiting any longer, seriously. What is this guy doing?
He pulls in two hours after he left and he barely has time to shut off the bike before you're swinging your leg over to straddle him. You take his helmet off and his hair is so poofy, but perfect for you to tangle your fingers in.

Steve’s eldest daughter joins the drama team in 4th grade and gets the role of Charlotte in her class production of Charlotte’s Web. he fills an entire roll of film outside the red brick school building before the show 📸 her in her pretty dress that he compliments her on 🥹 some pics of just her, some with her and Auntie Robs and Uncle Eddie.
a few of you with the actress of the evening, cheeks pressed together, are some of his favorite photos ever taken. Jon did a fantastic job- Steve has one framed on his desk. your grin is a mile wide in it, and his daughter’s eyes have this gorgeous sparkle. (he brags about you two every chance he gets, that photo is constantly being showed off 💖)
all in all, there were nearly twenty of you in the group- familiar faces spanning across two whole aisles, chattering with excitement before the lights in the theater dim. you manage to hold it together pretty well, but break when your baby girl starts singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” in a soft, melodious voice (Steve had already been crying since the curtain rose).
she gets a hearty round of applause, Robin, Steve, and Joyce whooping the loudest 💥📣 uncle Dusty brought her a celebratory bouquet 🥹 the Sinclair twins, perfect blend of their parents, red braids and chocolate brown hair bobbing through the crowd after- they’re in your daughter’s grade this year. Jon sets the camera to auto time and gets a whole group shot 🤗 one that everyone in the group hangs on their fridge.

i saw some tiktok discourse (don’t judge me) that pildo’s death was unnecessary and i just….
objectively that is incorrect
like am i personally betrayed by pildo dying? yes. did i want pildo to live? god, yes. he was so good and he tried so hard. he was so well and truly good. do i think his death was unnecessary in the sense that it hurt my feelings and made me cry so hard i wanted to throw up? yes absolutely.
but to say it was “unnecessary” from a narrative perspective…is just missing the point. entirely! entirely. pildo had to die because he was jiwoo’s last tether. with him, she would have flipped (the worst thing to mujin, worse than any kind of death) and gone about getting her revenge on him the “right” way. but by taking that away from her, from taking the last chance at her happiness, he forced her to come to him the way he wanted her to. mujin had to kill him to get what he wanted out of jiwoo—he was, quite literally, simply caught in the crossfire. an innocent caught in the riptide of two peoples’ vengeful dance.
in that way, i think it’s a bit of a disservice to his character to say his death was “unnecessary”. it hurt so bad because of how good and just his character was, which is good storytelling. predictable? maybe! but predictable ≠ bad. pildo was amazing and i hate that he died and i hate that jiwoo didn’t get the happy ending she deserved but that’s what made the show so good.

Congratulations! As of today, you are a Kamen Rider.
OKAY I’m done with designing my Geats OC, Kamen Rider Haunt. They’re based on a greyhound and use the Phantom and Racer Raise Buckles.
The Phantom Raise Buckle grants the Phantom Chain, a weapon that can pass through solid objects as the user wishes with an expandable length to attack any Jyamato at a distance or up close, while the Racer Buckle grants the Racer Spoilers, twin blade that allow the user to make up close attacks at great speed.
Haunt keeps their wish close to their chest and, despite outwardly presenting very friendly, will take any opportunity to sabotage other DGP Riders. But only if they’re sure they won’t be caught.
