#I think it’s about time I start talking more about them#Sam and Val are the two main ocs of mine#the others I love a lot too#funnily enough the reason they have simple names came from an inside joke between my friends and I in middle school#I wanna make a formal post about them tho#I’m actually almost done with the first comic chapter#it’s a pilot but I wanted to test myself#I might post it here?#and webtoon#original character#oc#sketch#my art#art#procreate#ok to like give you the gist#it’s set in a futuristic post apocalypse sci fi#Sam just woke up from his 500 year long beauty sleep and found out everything went to shit#he’s got no memories but wants to find out what happened to him and who he is#Val is a bounty hunter who fell in a whole and found Sam in his 500 year coma#he’s got some medical debt he needs to clear up so he decides to help Sam as long as he helps him clear his debt#and then the two go on wacky hijinks together to get some cash#I came up with it when I was like 13 so it’s been going-#the guy on crutches is Kain#he lost his leg in the war that happened while Sam was in that coma#the lovely lady next to him is his (adopted) mother#who runs a restaurant#the guy with the cool earrings is Juno#and the woman with the burn scar is Kalani#retrograde

#so I almost didn't make this summary at all#2023 was a terrible year for me all around especially its second part#and I cried when I realized that for the first time ever since I started to post my art online#I don't have at least one piece to choose from for every month#so this summary is cheated a little bit#I spread some projects for a few months#because hey I actually did have it in the wip status for fucking forever lol#and the last two months show my latest wip#which I haven't touched since early November#I had no spoons left to even open Procreate in December#so yeah#but in some aspects this year was a big one too#I started writing#which I hope to continue when rl is kinder for me again#I also read A LOT of books#I caught up with my tbr quite nicely#and I hope to draw more standalone fanarts to the books I loved most#for those of you who follow me for my hp art#I decided to leave it out of this summary even though I created some of it at the beginning of the year#but at least for the time being I don't plan to create more#I guess jkr bullshit finally outweighted my joy for it#I had to unfollow a lot of mutuals and mute a lot of tags#so sorry about that#if I unfollowed you it's nothing personal I still love YOU I just needed my dash to not be all hidden drarry posts 🥹#anyway#yeah#fingers crossed for some good changes in 2024 y'all#Happy New Year!#art summary 2023#my art

#my art#colored sketch#medibang paint#castlevania#alucard#i labbed out the dracula fight in dead cells more or less just before posting this but i actually did this like. 2 days ago#one of these days im gonna drawing characters that arent just like. existing in an off-white void by default. i prommy#i dont really know alucard's character in detail so along with his design being more complex than i usually work with#i have pretty much no sense of his 'acting'. like i dont know how to really pose him. i think those are my two main hurdles#last time i posted him i had at most gotten like 60% through the first cv. it has been two years. i have not touched it since 💀#ough i almost forgot: i based this loosely on his dialogue portrait to test my comfort with his design bc yall havent seen it but#ive been fighting for my Life trying to draw this man. im in the Tranches. but i did it (it will happen again. maybe in two more years)
