Alright Spinchers get ready cause I’m about to dump all my SB AU stuff/SB headcanons because I’ve got The Rot in my brain.
I’ll probably edit this later because there’s definitely stuff I’m forgetting. Anyway
Ok let’s seperate this into sections.
GLAMROCK FREDDY:
-“Superstar!”
-He really, really tries to be a stickler for the rules but it honestly doesn’t work. He tries so hard. But if he needs this door down and it won’t unlock, he’s going to call Monty to bash it in
-‘no swearing’ rule but there is absolutely exceptions
-Regularly uses “by the power invested in me” before sentencing the others to punishment (“by the power invested in me I sentence you to 15 minutes in your least favourite corner”)
-So much more patient and trusting than he reasonably should be
-Can, will, and does pick up the others simply because he’s able to
-Whenever Freddy is waiting for someone/something with Roxy, he looks extra hard to try see it before Roxy does to ‘beat her super eyes’. He wants to see it first and never does. Sometimes she pretends not to see to make him feel better
-Whenever they go on stage, Freddy and Monty Bro Hug It Out so no one knows they’re gay.
-⬆️Everyone knows.
-Goes out of his way to try and make the day better when it seems to be going south. He especially does this with Monty because he’s just about always having a bad day
-Was a little distant from the others, especially Monty, after Bonnie was put away for good. He focused way more on his definitely very important duties as the face of the Pizzaplex than interacting with them. This backfired on him completely because it just made everyone talk to him More.
-Has the weakest battery of everyone and needs to charge more frequently. He’s usually pretty good at making sure he doesn’t collapse in front of customers
-He knows they’re programmed to be good with kids and all but he still finds himself feeling all soft and mushy watching his friends get along with the young ones
GLAMROCK BONNIE:
-“Rockstar”
-Was always kind of grouchy in the mornings, but was fine after they had their first show
-Can drink 7 milkshakes in one sitting and postpone the regret for later
-he’s got a super sense for bowling. He Knows when someone is bowling like shit and they will be dealt with
-Had assigned bowling balls for each of his friends
-When Bonnie was randomly found mangled and broken, the staff had no idea what to do and kind of just- hid him away so they wouldn’t have to deal with it. The last person to talk to him was Roxy, who laid next to him while the Staff Bots tried to assess the situation.
-The Pizzaplex’ s Band originally started off with just Freddy and Bonnie, to imitate Fredbear and Springbonnie
-Shockingly, the one most adjusted to Bonnie’s sarcasm and occasional bad attitude is Chica, not Freddy. She became accustomed to his behaviour pretty quickly, and swiftly learned to level him out
-He goes and lays on Roxy’s carpet when he’s unhappy and she’s pretty much just gotten used to it at this point. She’s got no idea why he chose her room specifically but she’s adjusted.
GLAMROCK CHICA:
-Regularly hangs around the food court, shock horror
-Chica is super flexible. It makes the stretches and fitness aspects of Mazercise easier on her joints- however it does also mean she could fold herself into a ball if she really wanted to.
-If Chica is winning on the raceway, she’ll purposely slow down to let Roxy win
-While she comes across as very sweet and friendly, she’s definitely an enabler of chaos. She can and will encourage Roxy and Monty’s bickering.
-That being said, she does know where to draw a line. She knows how to tell when her friends are getting genuinely irritated, and she knows when things will actually be taken to heart instead of as a joke. She’s a good mediator, and a good calming agent
-Likes to bring snacks to the daycare for the little ones. After a gentle scolding here and there from Moon, though, she’s learned to bring snacks early on, and not too close to nap time, lest the sugar keep the kids up.
-Absolutely decimates in the arcade. She and Monty love to compete
-Adjusted to Monty taking Bonnie’s place the easiest. She loves Bonnie and treasures him dearly, but she wasn’t about to let her grief make Monty feel unwelcome. The two remain very close to this day
-She loves her friends but she’s not huge on sharing food. She thanks god every day that Roxy knows this and orders them seperate pizzas whenever they get them
-Absolutely the type to learn Tiktok dances and trends, and if she had a phone, would absolutely partake. It’s not uncommon to find TikTok’s filmed in the Pizzaplex that she jumps to participate in
-Hums a lot. Was pretty unhappy that they forbade her from singing, and started humming a lot to make up for it
GLAMROCK FOXY:
-“Laddie/Lassie”
-They aren’t supposed to store things in their chest compartments unless instructed to (like cakes, piñatas, etc), but Foxy tends to stash toys and merchandise in there and try get away with it. He usually gets caught
-Roxy was initially introduced as a prototype. She was small and child sized, and given to Foxy to train her up. It was supposed to be to test his aggression levels due to some recent bugs with Bonnie, but he got extra attached and kept her as his own.
-Following the previous, when Roxy was taken away from him, he was told she would be dismantled. Foxy was later taken from the stage and the band for maiming a staff member.
-Foxy is stashed behind some cutouts and other bits and pieces in Kids Cove. He won’t come out for fear of being decommissioned permanently. The others bring pizza and activities to do with him, so he can still be included.
-Uses the excuse of having ‘unspecified ailments’ when he doesn’t feel like performing. Depending on which technician is checking in with him in the morning, it sometimes works.
-Got a couple of broken parts that are lovingly held together by duct tape
ROXANNE WOLF:
-“Speedracer”/“Racer”
-Roxy gets along really well with the staff bots and caution bots. She’s like a celebrity to them, and she thinks they’re just funky little guys. She appreciates that they always make sure they’re clean before touching her (which they continue to do because she likes it)
-Whenever she walks by a caution bot, they always reach out to try touch her tail. This is especially endearing when she walks by a group and they all reach out
-Roxy brushes her tail exactly 200 times every morning. If she loses count she has to start again
-She and Chica go on lots of food court dates, going to get pizza and ice cream and such.
-Roxy spends a lot of time hanging around Mazercise waiting for Chica. She’s not shy about her favouritism
-Prefers older kids over the younger ones because younger kids can be a little messy, and she’s not one for mess. However, Cassie is her exception in all cases.
-She knows full well that by advertising and programming she’s supposed to be a winner, to be the epitome of sass and style. It’s exhausting to try be that perfect all the time, and she only feels worse that it makes her exhausted
-She deeply values her beauty and struggles to see her value beyond that. She needs to be good at everything, being average isn’t good enough.
-Used to struggle with giving compliments and often still does, but Chica has extraordinarily helped with this issue. Roxy loves her too much to not compliment her
-She’s actually quite the history nerd! She takes a lot of interest in older locations and older models, and will jump to get any information she can from whoever will give it to her
MONTGOMERY GATOR:
-“Champ”
-Monty is exactly as he’s described in the books. Dramatic and loud, but otherwise harmless
-Monty has a couple fried circuits; is prone to headaches, mood instability and light sensitivity as a result, hence his irritability and short temper
-He frequently visits the daycare, both as a helping hand and just to hang out. Sun and Moon insisted he has to dress as a clown if he wants to help out; they were joking but he took that 100% seriously and dresses the part if he intends to help care for the little ones.
-Roxy is like an older sister. When he was newly introduced, they quickly made the ‘new kid’ connection and she took him under her wing pretty swiftly.
-tail wags, hissing and swimming
-likes to ‘trade noises’. He’ll make a sound, normally a hiss, and usually whoever he’s with will return a sound (Chica with bawking, Roxy with a small howl, and Freddy tends to boop his nose to make the squeak sound. Bonnie is still pretty new to this and hasn’t exactly figured out a sound to make yet.)
-Tends to skip shows when he decides it’s too much, and goes off to hide.
-Following the previous, he used to hang around up on the catwalks in Gator Golf. However after being knocked off by the Hurricane hole-in-one, he’s since refused to even touch the steps up.
-Monty can easily be allured with the jingles of keys
-Used to address Freddy as ‘Captain’, but suffered through every stage of grief the day Freddy called him ‘Comrade’ in response. He hasn’t done it since
-Keeps track of regulars on his golf course and often gets along with them
-Spontaneously breakdances in the West Arcade
SUN & MOON (AND ECLIPSE):
-Sun was SO shit at being a daycare attendant after being moved from the Theatre. He was very used to seeing kids from a distance most of the time, and didn’t know how to handle taking care of them for long periods of time.
-Moon tends to jingle miserably across the floor whenever he’s up while the lights are on. Having been set up as a sleepy time animatronic, he has become quite nocturnal. Does that stop him from being up and about while the lights are on? No. Will he be tired and complain about it the whole time? Of course!
-Moon laughs at kids when they fall and Sun has to tell him off
-Moon throws ball pit balls at Staff Bots and gets told off for that too
-Before the events of SB, Sun and Moon were really close, damn near inseparable
-Sun and Moon used to share a body (which they resented a little bit). They took a nasty fall and the people who did the repairs went “you know what? Might as well” and separated them into two seperate bodies instead. The old body was left in parts and service, and later became Eclipse.
-At the start, Eclipse was a blend of Sun and Moon. They inherited both negative and positive traits from both ends, which created a balance of function and flaw. However this withered away a bit, and by Ruin, Eclipse was only taking on the positive traits. They lost Sun’s anxiousness and uptight personality, but maintained his patience and gentleness. They lost Moon’s pessimism and self preservation, but kept his playfulness and consideration. This has made Eclipse 100% In Denial Of All Bad Things, which does more bad than good.
-Moon doubles as a security animatronic. It’s his job to make sure everyone else is in their assigned station at night, which is why he can confidently leave the daycare, but Sun does not. He doesn’t care much for this job however and usually doesn’t do it.
-Sun tends to find a lot of the human staff incompetent. Between Moon’s bugs and twitches, the power issues in the daycare, the generators in the play equipment, and things regularly breaking down, he’s come to be impatient and exhausted with the maintenance crew. He quickly becomes exasperated when Moon starts to twitch out, because it means the past people to fix him did a shit job of it. Again.
-Sometimes ghosts of the past come to visit. Not to cause trouble, but just to check out how Freddy’s is doing. Charlie, being 3, is often snatched up by security and put in the daycare. Sun cannot figure out for the life of him how she keeps escaping so quickly whenever she’s brought in.
-Sun hates it when things are untidy. It’s just annoying to have stuff all over the place, and he prefers to keep it clean. Things being too much of a wreck can make him feel overwhelmed
-Sun occasionally calls Moon ‘Starlight’, and Moon regularly calls Sun ‘Sunny’ or ‘Sunshine’
-Sun manifests genders at Moon and he’s only very vaguely aware of it
-They both have a bit of merchandise, usually from staff bots handing it out near the daycare and Sun going ‘OOO we should have this!’ Sun has a Roxy graphic tee and Moon has one for Monty. It doesn’t fit the clown aesthetic but they wear them occasionally nonetheless
DJMM AND MAPBOT:
-Map Bot has the entirety of One Direction’s ‘You Don’t Know You’re Beautiful’ memorised
-DJ’s station is decorated with lots of maps, because Map Bot offers him a map every time he visits, and he accepts it every time
-Map Bot scares guests on purpose and thinks it’s hilarious
-DJ’s main body doubles as storage. That’s where all the mini men go.
-DJ tends to lose mini men because there’s too many for him to keep track of. Some have names. Some don’t. If he loses one, so be it. It’s every infant for himself in the Pizzaplex.
-Map Bot often carries Caution Bots around like they’re his babies. They enjoy it
-This might be the dumbest one yet but- DJ and Map Bot are possessed by Phone Dude and Phone Guy respectively. It started as a joke because we thought it was funny but now it’s stuck. They don’t remember ever being people, and nobody questions why Map Bot is significantly more expressive and talkative than the other staff bots.
-DJ gets along really well with the band members and occasionally talks them into performing along to his mixes. Roxy and Chica are most prone to caving, Roxy because she loves the attention and Chica because there’s no staff to tell her she’s not allowed to sing. They always have a good time

Lia's sleepover
Hi lovelies! So I just saw I hit 1.5k followers. And like holy shit, I was just celbrating 1.3k not even 2 months ago, its honestly so crazy and I'm so thankful for all the love and support! So I wanted to celebrate, but since I still have an active milestone challenge (which is still open btw, more info here), I thought I'd do my first sleepover, like ever, instead.
So this sleepover will consist of two sections, writing requests and send me things. see below for all the details
General info
The sleepover will begin today, July 18th until Saturday, July 23rd. That's how long I'll be taking requests/asks specifically to be included in the sleepover. And on Sunday, July 24nd I will be posting the writing requests. Though I will answer any send me things asks throughout the week.
For obvious reasons, and as it always has been, I ask that all participants be 18+. If you are under 18, one you should not be interacting with my blog to begin with, but I can't control your media consumption, so I do ask that you respect my boundaries and you don't participate.
If you are thinking of sending a writing request (that is not a headcanon) I ask that you do it asap so that I actually have time to have it done by Sunday.

IT'S FINALLY HERE! 😍😍😍
So I ordered ”All the stories are true” from Cassandra Clare and Cassandra Jean and boyyy, it was more than a month of waiting (from Canada to Poland, Europe - and it was longer in-country traveling than from Canada and it's on another f*cking continent, ffs 😡), and let me tell you... it was worth it.
The fabric hardcover is sapphire with silver print and it's really beautiful. I took it out of the box and I just sat there, caressing it with my fingers for a few seconds (I love to feel this fabric).
Inside we have 22 highly detailed illustrations of TSC characters in totally different scenery and circumstances - as a characters from tales, more or less known, or classics (like Sherlock Holmes).
I can't show you all of pictures - obviously - so I'll concentrate on three of them, because I think they're my favourites.
Ty and Kit as Sherlock and Watson. I must confess - I squeaked, and publicly, when I saw that picture. They are one of my favourite characters in the entire TSC universe and I love Sherlock Holmes, so... who can blame me?
Diana and Gwyn as Beauty and the Beast. I loved their history and BatB is my favourite animated story from childhood. I think they're perfect match.
Emma and Julian in Sleeping Beauty scenery. Last but absolutely not least, especially for me, because I love them with all of my heart. Though I have to admit that now I would need a lot of time to NOT think about Julian as SB 😂 But it's also very good fit - Julian, cursed and unhappy, and Emma, cutting through thorns to save him from his misery. Just soulmates.
If you'd like to have this masterpiece on your own, you'll need to hurry up - it's limited edition and it's available for a while now, so it could be sold out any moment. The seller is Hebel Design page and there is also a lot of TSC jewelry and other stuff - it could be great idea for christmas/new year's gift 🙂

GENRE: fantasy adventure
SETTING: unnamed fantasy world
TROPES: knights slaying dragons, female characters being buff and badass, morals over laws, illegal magic, choosing mercy over violence, background couples, found family
STORY: knight accidentally adopts a baby dragon and sets out on a quest to take her home, but ends up on a topple-the-king quest
THE CHARACTERS:
Isadora (Isi), 22, knight with a strong sense of justice and protective instinct
Robin, 17, mage (and nerd) well-versed in struggle and sarcasm
Sierra, 19, cheeky rogueish archer with no filter and a big heart
SB, 30, mage even more well-versed in sarcasm and also self-loathing
Holly, 18, brusque and sometimes grumpy healer
Enya, 32, BABY DRAGON NEED I SAY MORE
PLOT AND KETTLE: there are several subplots in this WIP about unlearning crap that you picked up through your life, including prejudices, excessive adherence to the law, and self-loathing. one of my favourite ways of describing the WIP is “i will now defeat you with the power of friendship/mercy and also this sword”
STUFF THAT IS NIFTY: there’s some very fun stuff with visible side effects of magic (can be found under the tag “dragonsong world” on my blog). also my dragons are blind and fly by echolocation, and they collect things that sound and smell nice rather than pretty stuff
STATUS CHECK: not working on it while the lovely @ellatholmes reads my first draft and tells me all the ways it needs to be better (thanks!) :D

NICKNAME: Yume here, but my hubby calls me Baby and my mom calls me Bunny.
FACECLAIM: I’ve been told that I look like Amy Adams (Princess Giselle in Enchanted and Lois Lane in the new DC films), but I’m not sure how accurate that is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

FAVOURITE MUSE(S) YOU’VE WRITTEN: My favorite is Yume, like no joke. I adore my girl so much, and I am really proud of how I have developed her over the years. My second favorite would probably have to be when I RP’ed as Rikku from FFX/FFX-2.
::GETTING TO KNOW THE ACCOUNT::
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO TAKE ON THIS MUSE: I have always been fascinated with Japanese history and culture since I was really young, and I even had to get a minor in Asian Studies in college, so let’s just say that I absolutely love learning about the Samurai. At the time, I recently finished SB and was waiting for ShB to come out, and I decided that I really wanted to create a new OC that was a Hingan samurai. Soon after, Yume was born and I have been down the rabbit hole ever since.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE ASPECTS OF YOUR CURRENT MUSE: Her courage, honor, and perseverance against all odds. Though she was not allowed to commit seppuku, she is a true samurai. I also just adore her dynamic with Cid, and he really brings out the best in Yume, hence why I ship them so hard.
WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION WHEN IT COMES TO WRITING: Honestly it’s seeing all of my beautiful and talented mutuals have such creativity and passion for their OCs and their ships that it truly inspires me to keep going, even when my anxiety is at its peak and I hate myself. So, I truly thank you all from the bottom of my heart. 💖
FAVOURITE TYPES OF THREADS: Hmmm… I am not really sure I have a favorite type. I have loved the group RP threads where everyone is going on an adventure. So, I must give credit to @meepsthemiqo for that!

Okay, here goes for my favourite phoenix.
favorite thing about them:
I like that he seems to be really laidback and easygoing with a good sense of humour. It’s just as well for me that I didn’t read too many Marco fics before I started writing him, cos’ it’s not how he’s usually perceived. Haha.
least favorite thing about them:
There is nothing not to like about Marco. He’s fab. Guess I would have preferred for Oda to make his age a little closer in age to the Worst Generation (so we can all feel good about our shipping likes), but it makes sense that he is the age he is, and a mighty fine 45 year old he is too.
favorite line:
Maybe the one chapter 992. Ah, it’s pretty important, I think, so I won’t spoil it for you. Just to say, I think it gives a nice insight and confirmation of the kind of relationship the Whitebeard Pirates had with Whitebeard.
Also love his interaction with Nekomamushi
brOTP:
Marco and the various members of the WB crew, I have Marco and Robin, and Marco and Zoro getting along in my fics, cos’ they’re good friends with Law. In my fics, he’s closest with Izou and Vista, but I wrote them before I knew that much about them. From canon we can absolutely see he’s good friends with Izou, Neko and Inu, and a whole bunch of characters you haven’t met yet, so exploration of that time of his life leading into the present is interesting.
Oh, of course I like a platonic Marco and Law as well as as a ship. Three Doctor Fics and art is cool too, so throw Chopper in there as well.
OTP:
MarLaw...haha. Yeah, I like it as a ship. Two smart, collected, intelligent and sexy men with sharp senses of humour. Blame the fanartists, like I said on my character thing for Law.
Ace is usually canonically not alive in my MarLaw fics, so there’s usually background MarAce. It’s not my OTP, but there’s background LawLu for Law too. People have pasts. Neither ship is treated disrespectfully.
Anyone’s fine with Marco, actually. He’s magical, but I also think he’s a bit of an everyman.

random headcanon:
I think this is actually canon, but all of the characters who can transport characters physically—Luffy, Law, Marco—don’t give a rat’s arse about their passenger’s comfort. This is seen by
—how badly everyone travels and lands when Luffy lassos them,
—how Law lands on top of his travel companion (Caesar) during Green Bit, and Sanji lands ingloriously on the deck. Law’s okay though.
—when he’s transporting everyone on Zou, nearly everyone ends up tits over arse except for him. I think Robin remains steady.
—Marco unceremoniously dumps his travel companion in Wano (lands on his head). I won’t let you know who it is, though you’ll find out if you go through my blog, and tells him to quit complaining.
I think it all ties into my fic, Devil Fruit Drivers, actually. :-) So I’ll just self-promo here 😁
unpopular opinion:
Not unpopular, but I think fandom might be glossing over the fact that Marco states in chapter 909 (sorry) that his regenerating power only has a small effect on others. I mean, he was the WB doctor and all, so I’m sure he heals with more than his powers, but there is a limit to the healing capabilities of them.
I also think Oda said in an SBS there was a limit to how much he could regenerate and heal himself. Of course it’s fun to run with the healing stuff though. I have him and Law working in conjunction with their powers, and I’ve seen others utilise his powers in really beautiful ways in some fics.

2020 Creator Wrap: Favorite Works

This has been a year.
Before 2020 I’d never so much as gone beyond a paragraph of writing. I read a lot, lurked in fandoms, wrote bits and pieces that never coalesced, and tried my hand at poetry (I still cringe!) but I’d never finished a story.
I posted a Hyena meta in April, which was just my way of getting something off my chest. From there, @thefeastandthefast, @my-randominterests, @nothingremainsunsaid and I had a great discussion about the show and things just exploded from there. @nothingremainsunsaid asked in a DM if I had a story lined up, and I was like, do I? I did not think I did.
As it turns out, I did. I hunkered down and wrote my first story in June, and just...kept going. It’s been a throughline in a difficult, tumultuous year, made more tumultuous by the pandemic.
This would not have been possible without the very lovely @thefeastandthefast. I couldn’t have asked for a better hype woman or cheerleader, and I would not have been anywhere near brave enough to hit the post button if not for her.
I wrote like, 7 things in a microscopically tiny fandom, so picking 5 seems extreme.
1. fingers laced together, T, 3634 words, SBS Hyena
This is not the first thing I wrote, but it’s the one that flowed out the easiest. I also had the most fun with it, so regardless of its objective quality, I will always have a special place in my heart for it. I set myself little goals with the stories I write - consciously and otherwise - and in this one it was “how couple-y can I make these two look without them ever acting like a couple?” I live for that dynamic. It’s also the story that prompted the ongoing series I’m writing.
2. but I linger on, dear, E, 8616 words, SBS Hyena
I never planned to write a series, let alone a long-drawn out one about Geum-ja and Hee-jae splitting up and finding their way back together. I wanted a single story that was not supposed to exceed 3,000 words. Reader, she lied. She kept expanding, growing tentacles and insisting there was more story to tell. thefeast even christened her Squiddaughter.
This was not the easiest story to write. I panicked at the idea of writing Hee-jae’s voice, which I’d never done before (despite writing an entire story about just him). I panicked about writing such a sad story. I panicked SO MUCH about the porn. There was just a lot of panic, but the breakthrough of settling on a voice and a mood felt so good. There was so much satisfaction in turning this one over to thefeast.
3. low in the weeds, E, 4641, SBS Hyena
Oh, my eldest child! I knew nothing when I first wrote it. It’s my least favourite; looking back, I’m not entirely pleased with the voice and it seems uncertain to me. But if there’s anything I’ve learnt from this year, it’s to appreciate that I had to start somewhere. So I’m embracing her. And I feel grateful that I got the idea, that I wrote it, and that it resonated with some people.

Evolution of an OC
Here I am to show how one of my favourite OCs has grown and developed over time. Of course, it’s Dijana.
A little background, typically when I play games, I have character archetypes that I recreate until I end up developing a story for them, and then I leave them in that media. So the ‘original’ Dijana, was my character archetype of ‘dark, evil magic user’. The name ‘Dijana’ means heavenly, divine, so it was meant to be ironic. She was never an evil character, just used dark or forbidden types of magic.
So lets begin.
Final Fantasy XI
There wasnt really customisation in this game. You had a few preset faces, each with 2 different haircolours. This was the one I chose. I don’t have a screenshot from that, but lets just say, that specific face looked terrible in game. Hurhur
Dijana was originally a hume. Going with the forbidden magic theme, she was a summoner. I eventually learnt about dat editing, so swapped her out for a shorter, pink haired model.
I had/have a developed storyline for this characer, and she still exists even though I’m not actively playing FFXI anymore. I eventually changed from Summoner main, to Dancer main. Here’s poopy old chibi sketches from 15 years ago.
FINAL FANTASY XIV
FFXIV 1.0 essentially recreated all the races and faces from FFXI...except for that one over the shoulder hairstyle for hume/hyur. So I went with the short haired style. There was no summoner or dancer back then, so I started as marauder in the alpha and beta tests (yes I’ve been playing that long). After the wipe and leading into official launch, I went archer instead.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: A REALM REBORN
Still the same looking hyur that she’s been forever. I was excited for SMN release, but it didn’t match Dijana’s established history going all the way back to XI. I instead leveled as SCH, but went back to BRD.
During this time, Dijana’s story just...didn’t really convert well from XI to XIV. I RP’d a bit with her, she married a miqo’te man (no not G’raha), and eventually decided to finally try some new hairs and looks. She was still always pink haired white girl though.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: HEAVENSWARD
Ahh Heavensward. I wasn’t really into the idea of playing a lizard girl, but I didn’t like midlander’s princess run. I was very interested in Au Ra’s lore though, so as soon as the first expansion launched, I bit the bullet and race changed.
I essentially just tried to duplicate her look as an au ra, but I alternated between raen and xaela a whole lot. I could never decide which I liked more- lore wise it was xaela, but aesthetics (for the more vibrant tones) it was raen.
I started to gradually sort out her story a bit more, and decided IC she was mixed- raen mother and xaela father. I bought so many fantasias back then changing back and forth, and gradually making her skin darker each time. Also decided I didnt like the fish horns.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: STORMBLOOD
This is when I finally decided to sort out her character story and settled on staying as a xaela. Going into SB, I knew we’d be going to the Azim Steppe, so I went through the xaela tribes info to decide which tribe she was initially born to. I decided on Oronir as the most suitable, and so when I finally made it to the Steppe, I wanted to find a xaela man who most resembled Dijana, even if it was an unnamed npc, and make that her long lost father. Who did I find? Freaking Magnai. Obviously he is too young to be her father...and uh...cant seem to find a woman anyway, so he is her half brother.
I stopped doing any RP on Dijana during this time. To cut a long story short, my rp partner and Dijana’s husband decided he was going to rp out an ‘alternate’ timeline with another friend of his, after we agreed no romance RP with others on our mains, and made a far more detailed storyline than we had in years. Lets just say my feelings were pretty hurt, so I decided that Dijana’s storyline would not involve other player characters, only NPCs.
And because I love to torture my own characters, she was pining after G’raha Tia, who had locked himself away in the tower, never to be seen again.
Well, look how that turned out.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: SHADOWBRINGERS
By now, Dijana has a dedicated storyline without me constantly unsure wtf I’m doing. I discovered mods by now, so making Dijana look more how I imagine is much easier. Unfortunately, feels like all the hair mods I like don’t have working highlights :I So Dijana’s blonde/gold tipped hair doesnt really get to be seen much. But the best part? FREAKING FINALLY I GOT DANCER
Crystal Exarch’s presence in this expansion obviously threw a wrench into the plan of ‘lets make my character as miserable as possible’ but what the hell, now I can take sappy screenshots.
And now we are all caught up. Pink haired human to dusky lizard girl.

An Interview with Sebastian Beierle
Jaime Molina: Please introduce yourself.
Sebastian Beierle: I was born and raised in a rural area in southern Germany, currently I live in Dortmund and work on my graduation project for my bachelor. When I was a teenager my friends and I were shooting skate movies with an 8mm camera, I think that led to my interest in photography. I then photographed for many years, but never with the intention of doing it professionally. When I quit my engineering studies in 2016, it was clear to me that I wanted to spend my time with photography and wanted to learn more about it.Currently i'm working on a photographic essay about the absence of tourists on the Spanish coast during the winter. It was not very easy towards the end because the pandemic turned everything upside down.
JM: could you tell me more about the project ?
SB: At the beginning of my photography studies, I drove with two friends in a campervan through southern France to Spain. One day we were driving until late at night, when we arrived at a parking lot somewhere at the Spanish Mediterranean Sea, it was far dark. The next morning we woke up between huge hotels and palm trees. It reminded me of the perfect summer vacation, however, it was winter and we were far the only people. In this region of Spain, almost everyone works in the tourism industry during the summer. People have to earn money for the whole year in a few months. In the winter, unemployment rises sharply and the city falls into a deep sleep.
The idea of living in this place year-round left me with a stale feeling of loneliness. All these ambivalent impressions led me back to this place for several months a few years later. My idea was to create a photographic investigation of this strange atmosphere, a kind of "calm before the storm". I began to question the sense of infrastructure as well as the enormous impact of tourism on the everyday life of the locals.
I show landscapes and architecture as purposeless backdrops. In contrast to the vast, empty spaces, I create close-up portraits of the few inhabitants, who seem almost like lost extras in their own city. The resulting photographic series, the photographic play between proximity and distance, describe different questions in an essayistic character without pursuing the goal of a definitive answer or even a clear solution.
JM: Why is it important for you to incorporate the inhabitants from the town? Why not just landscapes?
SB: A city without inhabitants only looks like a scenery to me. Only the people give the architecture a soul and fill the whole thing with life.
Especially in Peniscola there is not much life over the winter, the more important it was to me to show some of the people who hold out in this quiet situation. Portraits often create a connection for me, I find they are able to transport completely different emotions than, for example, an architecture or landscape shot.
JM: Where do you normally gather inspiration from? What portrait photographers do you look up too?
SB: Inspiration is a complicated thing. Sometimes I have a thousand ideas and other days I'm totally at a loss. But poems often offer me a good source of inspiration, for me they work similar to photographs. They describe something, a place or a feeling in different ways. What you end up taking away from it is entirely up to the viewer or reader.
There are so many brilliant portrait photographers I look up to. August Sander, for example, is for me the godfather of German portrait photography. And in contrast to the individual portraits of Sander I celebrate what for example Mathew Genitempo, Bryan shutmaat, Alec Soth or Raymond Meeks do. The mixture of portraits, landscapes and architecture create such powerful essays that are very calm but at the same time totally intense.
JM: Would you say that most of your work follows a linear narrative influence by the places you photograph?
SB: I guess it depends on the project, which narrative is more suitable. When I photograph a reportage, I stick more strictly to the temporal plane. In the more free works, it is often rather linear at the beginning of editing, but the longer I deal with the images and the story, the more the linear blurs into a nonlinear narrative. From this point it is always very exciting because you start to tell a story yourself and process your own impressions.
JM: Why did you decide to submit that portrait onto LTRF?
SB: When it was my turn to submit my image to LTRF I went out a lot to photograph. For some reason I didn't find the right subject to respond to the previous image, so I searched my archives. It was important to me that the picture was taken during the time of COVID 19. When I found the image of Simon I thought it would work well as a response. Fortunately, the picture fit into the whole project very well. It was really a pleasure to participate in such a great project with so many good photographers.
JM: How has COVID Influenced your practice?
SB: Everything is going much slower than usual, people are not as open as they were before the pandemic. But I think we're all going through a hard time right now and I hope it gets back to normal soon. In the meantime we just have to photograph more landscapes I guess.
JM: Who has been the favourite person you’ve taken a portrait of? And if you could give yourself any piece of advice right now what would it be ?
SB: I would say my father. We've had a very strained relationship for many years. For some time now we've been getting closer to each other. This summer I went for a walk with him and I took some portraits of him. They are not the best pictures I have ever taken, but they mean a lot to me because we have opened up to each other.
I would say to myself, "Sebastian, you are not just your photographic work. If you haven't taken exceptional photos for a while, it doesn't mean you haven't done anything."
