i swear i am not an alcoholic (by certain standards) but i feel buzzy and i am thinking about hattori heiji and kudou shinichi and how similar YET DIFFERENT THEY ARE, and my head is spinning

Kudou “I think 10 steps ahead if I am given enough time” Shinichi who can modulate his emotions to a certain extent, keeping himself relatively well on task when his emotions are at play (very rarely Loses It Completely TM) most of the time, who is horrible at Instant Acting.

Hattori “I am driven by my Emotions and Honest About Them“ Heiji who literally grabs criminals and yells into their faces, who perceives a threat against “His Kazuha” and ready to throw fckin hands (and does), and he can still plan slightly ahead to fool criminals.

For the DCA being a computer virus, the idea that they're an extension like Helpie is, the function being to be installed into devices and meant to keep kids safe with accessing the internet and media, only to in truth be a danger themselves under the way they perform when adults are around.

More of an issue in a future with more smart-tech-devives to hack into, if they're brought home and access the router with wifi connection. The silly little guy from that app showing up on the fridge display doesn't seem so bad until it's not just waving hello its tracking what you put inside and take out. Tying into more and more devices, able to open or possibly obscure emails, redirect search results and reviews that would tell someone that someone that they're dangerous.

Smiling and colorful and associated with a jingle that distorts and stretches as its played through things not built for their presence but has to bear it until things overheat or burnout. Who needs to tell them your credit card when you make the mistake of using a tap-to-pay?

Fazbear would be scummy enough to make a program that worms into tech to manipulate children and get data to sell from adults + incompetent enough to underestimate how adaptable they are and lose them, letting them become invasive overtime . Gonna have to have a conversation that like, I could avoid. I could keep just not having it and life will go on.

Will it be better for me to have that conversation or just let it be. CAN I even be that open? Can I even find the words? Is it fair to even throw that onto the person I need to talk to?

There are other people I could talk to first, people who are farther removed, but I don't have the time to arrange that and... I don't know if I even want to? Getting to the root of the situation directly seems like what I want to do, what I've been planning to do, at least.

At the end of the day, I know what will most likely happen. But there is that stupid little part of me that hopes somehow I'll manage to do this without hurting anyone, including myself. But either I hurt someone else and get part of what I want, or I hurt myself enough that I'll finally move on and maybe get this other part that I might be wanting. Maybe I won't have the conversation at all.

I think my midlife crisis has been caring more about trends and what young people think, because I'm scared of being old. I'm scared of losing touch and becoming the thing I used to hate. But I didn't even care what young people thought when I was a young person. Why the fuck should I start caring now?

And it's even worse that I'm starting to feel pressured to "make something of myself". I mean, I'm 32. Am I just gonna keep grinding random jobs until I die? But even if I do, so fucking what? That doesn't make life any less worth living, and we all end up in the dirt eventually. Fortune 500 or tent in the woods, we're all going to the same place, no matter what.

So I've just gotta do my own things, stick to my rules.

Do no harm, take no shit.

Accept things even when I don't understand them, so long as those things aren't hurting anyone.

Try not to be too much of an asshole.

And most importantly, SLOW DOWN. Take your time, because the years go by faster and faster, so you've got to be purposeful in the things you put your energy into.
